Actually he ran into a ditch in a single car accident at the end of last week just outside of Memphis. A church in Memphis sent a brother to pick him up and take him on to Birmingham. His car is in the shop in Memphis. He hopes it will be ready for him when the meeting ends tomorrow.

Thanks for the prayers. Driving that distance [Oklahoma to Alabama] for a 92 year old is really a matter of faith any way you look at it.

Weather here is 24.
That's the coldest I can remember in my 30 years here in Florida.
I feel bad for those taking their vacation down here right now.

ya, me too, isn't cheap to come here this time of year. We're about ten degrees warmer, but 34 is not what they signed up for at all i guess

He does.

He says that he'll never quit until God stops him. His service to the Lord is his life and while he can he will. I'd be in trouble if I traveled as often and as far as he does and I'm only a youngster of 74.

Been quite cold here in Tuscaloosa. These are the worst winter temperatures for us in a long time. My dogs stay mad at me because I won't take them out at the regular time in the mornings when it's this cold. Lately it's been closer to lunchtime!

Hello fellow Alabamian, yes, it's cold down here in Mobile. glad to hear someone from the same neck of the wood. this is really unusual weather for us down south. we got a good dusting of Snow yesterday. couldn't make any snowmen like BG and family up in Canada, but I'm not mad....

LOL. I spent three years in Germany, got use to the temperature, but never got use to the snow.

but stay warm, and be blessed.

There is cold, and there is C O L D , cold like if you touch your car handle without gloves, your hand will stick to the frozen metal. Now that is cold.
I'm sure heaven will be just the right temp for you!! lol

I lived in FL for years. When I moved to NYC I would advise people taking a trip to Disney World to take a winter coat! They were shocked! But they listened to me and said they were the only ones warm! People packed shorts and sleeveless tops...they thanked me.
I would always say, "Rem the Challenger....it was 29 F that morning"...:[
(That's 3 degrees below freezing for our Celsius friends.)

Yesterday in Colorado it made it to the 60s, clear blue skies...with snow on the Rocky Mountains,
very pretty.

I appreciate that you write the Celsius for us dumbo's thanks for that kindness. I need it! Three degrees below...this time of year we would think that was spring!!

But I well remember visiting one of my daughters in Georgia for Christmas years ago. That took us down to Disney World for a Christmas treat...I have never been so cold!! Bone chilling cold...and yes, we did not have our Canadian winter coats with us!

I have never been so miserable ...but we couldn't say anything because they were paying for everything. I must say, I have never felt so bone chilled here even in winter , as I did down there. ( We have very little humidity here) Well I lie, once I did , I just remembered...it was at 4.30 in the morning, pitch black, and some friends were running us into town to catch the early greyhound back home. We were on a country backroad, gravel. It was 45 below freezing. We hit a deer...it stopped the engine dead ( the deer jumped up and ran off, I doubt that he was unhurt.)
We sat praying for help...there were no farmhouses for miles. We began to freeze...within 30 mins in that cold it hit into our bones...it is so agonizingly painful. I did not know dying of cold was painful...I would have thought a person would just be numb...maybe that comes at the end.
We did think we were going to die. In no time, we could not speak, our mouths were like after a dentist freezes it. Numb...but the inner bones= pain. And about 6 hours before the flesh felt normal again. It took 12 hours for my bones to return to normal...the cold could still be felt.
I am sure drowning would be awful, burning in a fire even worse maybe...but freezing is no picnic I can tell you!
