I hadn't been saved for long and we were going you a little country Baptist church. I'd been baptized in the Holy Spirit so the Lord was truly working big time. I didn't know one church from another, only that we weren't getting a lot from church. Folks were nice but when I asked men there if they'd been through this or that or felt this way or that they just said no. Truly there is a vast chasm between those having the spirit and those that didn't.

Jude 1:19 KJVS
These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.

Listening to different religious programs on my radio at work I heard a commercial for a church that was having several nights of revival. It was a Pentecostal church and I knew nothing about them at all. After hearing the spot for several days I decided that my wife and I would attend church threre on a Friday night. We went, and as always in a new place felt somewhat apprehensive. But when the worship started and we began to sing all was well. After a wonderful worship the pastor, brother Jim Ranger, preached a good message a then opened the altars for prayer.

People were down on their knees at their seats, up front at the altars praying. People were weeping and praying for each other and the pastor was on his knees pouring his heart out to God. We'd truly had never seen anything like it. Now this was church!

We were blessed and so thankful that we'd gone to visit. It really was a revival. We attended our little Baptist church next Sunday morning and as the pastor greeted us he said something astounding and out of the norm. He said why don't we all just lift our hands and praise God like the Pentecostal folks do!

We were blown away. Had he seen us go to the revival at the Pentecostal church? My wife and I looked at each other in amazement. This was certainly a witness from God that lifting your hands to God and praising Him was the right thing to do. We changed churches not too long after that. After seeing how these Pentecostal folks praised God we could no longer just sit with folded hands.
