Thou shall not kill.Do religious people forget this commandment, it is in all the religions. How can anyone kill if they are a Christan or Jewish, or a Muslim, when It clearly states Thou must not kill. Also If God told Mosses this commandment, he him self has killed, like in the passover. And the battles for the promised land. How can he kill and tell overs not to. I know god done this for a reason but is that still right? There are always Innocent people involved.

Exodus 20:13 Thou shalt not killThe word "kill" as used there is:#7523 (Strong's Concordance) ~ ratsach, a prim. root; prop. to dash in pieces, i.e. kill (a human being), espec. to murder; - put to death, kill, (man-) slay (-er), murder (-er)It means to murder someone. To lay in wait to destroy a life. It isn't referring to an accidental death or war. God Himself sends us into battle and deaths will occur. When someone commits a murder (and there are two witnesses to that murder) then they are to be executed and sent to Him. The same penalty applies to a rapist. Those are two sins that will not be forgiven in this flesh life. He may forgive them when they face Him but they cannot receive salvation in this life in so far as Christ dying for those sins. In other words, they can't repent of those sins and be forgiven until they face Him.......Whirlwind

The Islamic god isn't the Christian God.In Luke, Jesus tells the disciples to sell their garments and buy swords. Why? It's for self defense. We have a right to defend ourselves, and our countries against aggressors. Why do you think we won the Second World War, and not the Vietnamese war or the Iraqi war?

isnt the sword in that passage of luke figurative langauge for the word of God ? Matthew 10:34Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. Also jesus said this Matthew 26:52Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword.

There is a difference between war,and murder,Murder is usually out of HATRED,jealousy, and the absence of God in their life.War is fighting to defend yourself,in The bible there were tons of Wars,It told how David a little boy at the time killed Goliath a HUGe warrior, but it was not described as MURDER,he defended his people. So there is a difference in the two

When mosses was given the Ten commandments with thou shall not kill on them, just afterward didn't he order the killing of some of his own people because they didn't believe in God, somthing like that. Thats not war or protecting yourself.

Hi slipstream,The starting point to your answer lies in the fact that there are NO good, innocent people anywhere. "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." (Rom. 3:23).God is the one who has all authority over the creation he has made. He has given man the Ten Commandments so that we would know how to live according to His Knowledge of His creation. If a man kills (murders) another man, he is placing himself in the position of God. God alone has the right to punish a man or a race for their evil. When God killed the firstborn of the Egyptians, He was executing His justice on an evil Pharaoh and his nation who were cruel slave masters over God's people (the Hebrews). God is infinitely holy and infinitely just. He has clearly shown throughout the pages of the Old Testament that He dispenses His judgement on whom He sees is committing evil to the point that He can no longer tolerate. This is the same danger that everyone in the world is in who has not accepted the punishment for sin that was applied to Jesus Christ on the Cross for all of us. Otherwise, we would receive that terrible punishment in Hell for all eternity.Unbelievers who think they are getting away with their evil way of life are living in very great deception. Their judgement is coming, unless they accept God's forgiveness through belief in Jesus Christ.Man assumes the right that belongs ONLY to God when he deliberately kills another man.waynemlj

God is allowed to kill because he gave life, he can take it away. God is allowed to kill because we have given away our right to judge so God will judge for us. He is a much better Judge than we are.

we have given away our right to judge
That would not seem apparent in todays society. We do it all the time day in and day out.
