I was reading Kriss's study of the "parable of the tares" and the passage states that God wants you to know this. What other passages in the bible does god say that he wants you to know, I was thinking particulary of passages that start with the words "I would not have you ignorant" or "I would have you know".Kevin

God doesnt want you to be ignorant of any of his word but he partically seems to use this term when he is making a important point pertaining to a mystery he is revealing to us the Word Ignorant is from a root word that means: 1) to perceive with the mind, to understand, to have understanding2) to think upon, heed, ponder, considerI have always found it interesting he uses this term on things we seem to have the most misunderstanding of that would say to me that these are things we really need to think on and consider not just accept mens teachings but truly make a effort to look past the words and search the scriptures and our minds for a deeper answer. Some good Examples:1Cr 12:1 Now concerning spiritual [gifts], brethren, I would not have you ignorant. The gifts are one of the most misunderstood scriptures and have been argued for forever2Pe 3:5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: 2Pe 3:6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:These two verse are about the three World ages and the term tells you that men are willing ignorant of this they refuse to listen to God and willingly prefer the lies of men2Pe 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day [is] with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.Another very misunderstood over looked verse even though this is a great Mystery that Peter told us that literly solves many of the other mysteries in Gods Word including the time frames of many things people refuse to believe what it says or understand its significanceSo in essence what God is saying hey people dont be stupid listen up here Im trying to tell you something important.PS.there is more than one Hebrew/Greek word translated as Ignorant so ingnorant in other forms can mean slightly differnt thing

Kriss thanks for the link, great piece of work by Denver.Turns out I did know much of what was being taught but looks like I'm gonna have to re-evaluate my theology on certain aspects, which is ok I'm here to learn. Paticulary the bit about the 1st age which has me intrigued I'm also intrigued by rev 12 at least the bit in 12:4 And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: I always believed that this verse was referring to Satans angels and not children of God. Anyway I'll have a good look at it again in the morning and follow the links that Denver placed with this article. Kevin

Hi Kevin,How about this one...Hosea 4:6"My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children."And this one with the accompanying verse.... (Kriss only presented half of the message)2 Peter 3:8-9 "But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, NOT willing that ANY should perish, but that ALL should come to repentance."1 Thessalonians 4:13-14 "But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him."Kim
