Provoking Israel to jealousy was for a time past that ended about 1950 years ago. It's purpose (as were the Gifts of the Spirit) was to help entice Israel to repent and accept Christ. Christ said He would not return until Israel accepted Him - Mt23:39, Acts 3:19-21, etc. Therefore, the ONLY purpose of the Acts period was to convert Israel. It certainly was NOT to form a church.
Israel was set aside and ceased to exist in about 63AD, for not accepting Christ, when Paul pronounced the curse of Isa 6:9-10 upon them, in Ac 28:25-27, for the 7th and last time in scripture, and they were fully blinded. Then, in Ac 28:28, the Salvation of God was taken from Israel and given to the Gentiles. There is no Israel today, in God's eyes. Everyone today comes to God as an individual. Israel will be back, though, when this 2000 year Gentile period is over, in about 2063. When Israel was set aside, everything associated with Israel was also set aside, like the Acts church, the Gifts, the rapture, you name it, it's all gone. The brand new church is found only in Paul's 7 books written after Acts - Eph, Phil, Col, 1&2Tim, Titus, and Philemon. In those books, you will find that we members of this new church are the only people in the Bible that have ever had a calling of going to Heaven.
Paul is the only apostle to the Gentiles and is the last word as far as you Gentiles are concerned. Paul, as it says in scripture, continually received new revelations from the Lord throughout his ministry (search for "revelation" in all his 13 books). Therefore, his last words, chronologically, are the most important, up-to-date words. His post-Acts books are his final words. The Word fulfil means complete or fill full - see Strong's. Paul's new dispensation, found only in his post-Acts books, completed God's word to His human creation, at least for now.
Col 1:25
Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God;
Since the Gentiles in the Acts church were partaking of Israel's blessings and since they were grafted onto Israel, the good olive tree, the church in Acts was all Israel. During Acts, everything of importance belonged to Israel, Rom 9:4. Now, the Gentiles have everything and Israel has nothing of her own. Those that want to spend eternity in Heaven must eliminate everything in Acts, the Gospels, etc., from their doctrine, as far as their calling, hope, rules, and directions pertaining to these things, and focus on SEEING their truth for today, found ONLY in Paul's post-Acts books. This is what rightly dividing (correctly cutting, correctly dissecting) God's word is all about in 2Tim 2:15 - separating the parts of God's word that don't apply to you today from that that does apply directly TO you today. In that verse, it says those those who correctly cut God's word are approved by God and have no need to feel ashamed. God has a totally different future planned for Israel than He does for us Gentiles and right division is the ONLY way you'll be able to SEE it.
The greatest failure of ALL mainstream denominational churches, is the failure to rightly divide and separate God's word to Israel from His word to Gentiles. As a result, a Denominational church basically a Jewish synagogue that teaches doctrine given only to Israel, to unsuspecting Gentile. These churches generally do a pretty good job of getting people saved. However, if you want to know your future, you'll never find it listening to a denominational preacher. Only those people that obey right division have a knowledge of what the New Testament is all about, and that's why He approves of those that rightly divide God's Word. Mainstream denominational preachers certainly don't fit in that category.
Note that right division doesn't mean that those other 59 books are eliminated from our library. God forbid!! It means that, if we want to find out what God's present plan is, for us Gentiles, the only place we'll find it is in Paul's 7 books written after Acts. Except for that, everything else in those other 59 books is vital for us to know, if we want to understand God's ways and His grand plan.
