How would you know.
I have seen exactly that thing happening.

1 John 2:19 - They went out from us, but they did not really belong to us. For if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us; but their going showed that none of them belonged to us.

God knew everyone who would be saved before He created man. People do not go back in forth between being saved, lost, saved again. God's seed remains in us.

Anyone who gets pleasure from willful sin - clearly does not love Jesus - loving God = keeping the commandments.

Someone who preaches "sin away" never really had their "sins washed away"
Hmmmmm . . .
What about your Protestant Father, Martin Luther? In a letter to his contemporary, Philip Melanchton - he wrote about the forgiveness of Christ:
"Be a sinner, and sin boldly, but let your trust in Christ be stronger, and rejoice in Christ who is the victor over sin, death, and the world."

According to YOU - he "never really" had his sins washed away.
Is that correct??

First off, I never knew Luther personally, and none of us where alive when he was so trying to make a judgment is pointless. It is not anyone's place to say who is saved or not. I am accountable for my walk of faith, not anyone else's, same goes for you. One thing I do know, he wasn't a fan of indulgences :)

Almost 3,000 posts on this thread and not ONE SHRED of evidence for OSAS exists.
All we have seen are your pathetic attempts at twisting Scripture - but NOTHING from Scripture itself.

Sorry you think the Lords INDWELLING Power is grossly incompetent TO KEEP a man IN FAITHFULNESS TO HIM "FOREVER".

You should have learned ONCE a man CHOOSES to become CONVERTED.....THAT man "IS" precisely giving the Lord CONTROL over THAT MANS SPIRITUAL LIFE "FOREVER", WITH HIS POWER!

You CLAIM to be BORN AGAIN, "IN CHRIST", but yet you do NOT TRUST the POWER of GODS KEEPING YOU.....FOREVER;

Even though Scriptures says FOREVER, and you deny, by simply claiming your were NOT SHOWN, WHICH IS FALSE.

Bottom line: We are forever secure IF we endure to the end in faith.
That's the BIBLICAL truth.

BOTTOM LINE:
JEWS, WHO CONTINUE TO REMAIN SUBJECT TO THEIR LAWS, ARE THEY, WHO must endure to the END.....THEY have to ............
BY THEIR OWN POWER, KEEP THE LAW.

THEY DO NOT HAVE "CHRIST IN THEM".

UNLIKE YOU, I have the Power of Christ IN ME, and it is HIS POWER thet KEEPS ME "FOREVER".

Once again, YOU DO NOT DIVIDE the Word of Truth, thus you think EVERY Scripture APPLIES to you.

You preach you have RECEIVED an UNCORRUPTABLE GIFT....yet you can CORRUPT IT WITH YOUR POWER....

Hogwash

Your statement is pointless because Luther left us his written sermons.

In my original post I said, "I would ask them to examine their faith". Not me, but them. The moment we start stating who is saved or lost we are playing God.

So, why do OSAS promoters say that some people were not saved in the first place?

You would be playing God.

By the fruit they are producing. (you can judge a tree by its fruit) Would you believe that someone is saved if they were visiting bars, strip clubs, and living a total life of willful sin with no regard for Christ? The answer is clear. It's not that we are saying they are lost, they clearly show it by their actions. People who believe that one can lose their salvation are playing God.

Experiencing a time of struggle in ones faith is different then showing no change of becoming a "new creation" at all

Yes, I'm aware of these situations and some of these people
came to Christ and were in church for years.

But you would say that they were not born again in the first place, i.o.w you ARE playing God....yet you say it's not up for us to say who is saved and who is not saved.

Listen, you can not have it both ways.

Nice try - but you are still ignoring the most important word in the warning: EPIGNOSIS.

Epignosis is the Greek ford for “knowledge” that used here. It is NOT the usual word, which is Oida. This is talking about a full, experiential knowledge. This verse is about CHRISTIANS who had an EPIGNOSIS of Christ and who can fall back into darkness and LOSE their salvation by their own doing.

You cannot have Epignosis of Christ and NOT be born again.

It's not what you know BOL, it's about your heart and what you believe.

Ezek 36:26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.

Scripture shows that, I've mentioned it before. 1 John 2:19.

God's seed remains in the believer, 1 John 3:9

You guys are preaching: "GO AND SIN "SOME MORE" - We'r saved anyways. We are under the blood."

No, that's a lie from the devil. What do you think sanctification is for. Do you know what an accuser is? God bless

Rom 8:33 Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen for his own? No one--for God himself has given us right standing with himself.

Rev 12:10 Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say: "Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Messiah. For the accuser of our brothers and sisters, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled down.

Your statement is pointless because Luther left us his written sermons.
Luther had many things right and many things wrong. Most Christians do not study Luther, but they do study the Bible.

And it is God's Word which presents the eternal security of the believer. Please note carefully what the apostle Peter has written by divine inspiration:

Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied....Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. (1 Pet 1:2,5).

It is not our job to judge anyone else salvation. Only God knows hearts.

You would be playing God.

Consider the CONTEXT.

Who knows the individual mans own (spirit), ie the true thoughts in his heart, BUT the man himself and God?

The CONTEXT IS;

1) The Scripture teaches HOW TO become Saved and Born Again.

2) Individuals Become Saved and Born Again, BY and THROUGH the Lord.

3) Individuals CAN announce their OWN Standing with the Lord.

4) Individuals CAN NOT have complete certainty of what is in the spirit of another man.

Men can speak for themselves.
Others men can hear what one speaks and observe what one does, and have an idea of ones standing with the Lord, which is simply called "knowing them BY THEIR FRUITS"...

Which is not the SAME as "knowing their Heart", which is regarded as only the man himself and God to know.

So it is NOT having it both ways.

And those He is said to have "called" and "predestined" are those who CHOSE Him of their own free will.
God simply knew in advance because He is outside of time He didn't make the choice FOR us.

Once again - God doesn't drag ANYBODY kicking and screaming against their will into Heaven - NOR does He send anybody kicking and screaming against their will into Hell.
WE make the choice - not Him.

TRUE!!

And also TRUE, is God is ALL Knowing.
And also TRUE, is God does not SAVE and then UNSAVED a man.

OSAS is truth. Jesus Christ died for past, present and future sins. Do you not believe? God bless.

Rom 8:33-39 Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. 34Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. 35Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36As it is written:

“For your sake we face death all day long;

we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”

37No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
If that's true, there should be no "Berlin Wall" separating and dividing the family of God on earth from the family of God in heaven. According to Romans 8, we are one family. The reformulators turned God's one family into departments.

Eph. 1:5 – Paul teaches that God “predestined” us in love to be His sons through Jesus Christ. “Predestination” means that God knows what we will do before we do it (it does not mean that God determines what we do; otherwise, we would have no freewill). Predestination is taken from the Greek word “prooridzo” which means to know or declare in advance by God’s foreknowledge. See, for example, 1 Peter 1:2 where Peter writes about the “elect according to the foreknowledge of God.”

The terms “predestination” and “the elect” always refer to God’s knowledge (not human knowledge) because God is outside of time (and humans cannot predict the future). There are two types of “predestination,” to grace and to glory. In this verse, Paul is teaching about predestination to grace, which means becoming a Christian.

1 Pet. 1:1-2 – Paul teaches about being destined by God for obedience to Christ. This is another example of predestination to grace. But there is also predestination to glory.

Rom. 8:29-30 – Paul also writes that we are predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son. Now Paul is writing about predestination to glory, which means not only becoming a faithful Christian during our lives, but persevering to the end by conforming our will to Christ’s will.

1 Cor. 15:49 – Paul writes that we are conformed in His image at the resurrection, when we shall bear the image of the man of heaven. These are the people who were predestined to glory.

Rev. 3:5 – Jesus warns that He can blot out the names that are in the book of life. This refers to those currently, not ultimately, justified (those who are predestined to grace, but not to glory).

Eph. 1:5; 1 Peter 1:2; Rom. 8:29-30; 1 Cor. 15:49 – therefore, predestination is either to grace (which we could lose) or to glory (which we cannot lose). As alluded to above, some non-Catholics confuse the definition of “predestination” (which means God knows what we will do before we do it) and “predetermination” (the erroneous belief that God determines what we will do). But God does not author evil. We choose evil by our own freewill.

Ezek. 18:23-24, 32 – God takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked. Our death is our freewill, failing to respond to His grace. God does not predetermine certain people to hell. God also does not predetermine certain “elect” people to heaven. We all, as God’s children, have been given the grace we need to be saved, but we can decide to reject God’s grace.

No one here is against remaining faithful unto death. As Christians, we should guard our life and walk of faith from the world/sin and its influences. At the same time God watches us over all well. Where I stand personally, is that God already "predestined us for adoption" Eph. 1:3. God brought us into His family through Christ. God already knew the choices of man and everything is already settled, those who are saved and those who are sadly lost.

John 8:35 - Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever.

Sin should be difficult and uncomfortable for the Christian. It is my belief that through our new image and having God's seed in us, no real believer would desire that old life of sin just as much as any unsaved person desires to follow God. We have been given a whole new nature and we are a new creation that goes against everything we were before we came to Christ.
