Great Postbut I think the problem with Christians beliefs today is they dont recognise their IDENTITY IN CHRIST ( i'll hold my hand up and admit to being one of them ). We look at the bible and believe all those wonderfull things Christ did we look at the old testament and believe the power of God in the creation of the world. we look to the future and believe all the promises particulary concerning christs return but many other things too. But when it comes to now and all those promises that are ours to claim NOW we're left defeated. Its abit like alice in wonderland when alice is at the Mad Hatters Tea Party and she asks for the Jam and the Mad Hatter say's "it was jam yesterday, it's Jam tomorrow but its not Jam today"The good news in Christ is thats its Jam Today.So to claim all that healing etc we need to realise who we are in Christ and all thats been accomplished and hold it in our hearts and mind because there is so much in todays life that will erode away at what we believe.Perhaps we should make a list.Kevin

One of the Lord's names is Jehovah-Rapha, which, is translated, "I AM the Lord thy Physician," or "I AM the Lord that healeth thee.""...surely He hath born our sicknesses and carried our pains." Isa 53:4."He...healed ALL that were sick, that, it might be fulfilled, which, was spoken by Esaias (Isaiah) the prophet, saying: Himself took our infirmities and bare our sicknesses." Mt 8:2-4.The word, "soteria," which, is the Greek word for salvation, is also defined as "deliverance, healing, health and soundness."The Greek word, "sozo," translated, "saved," is also defined as "healed, made sound, made whole.""...He is the Saviour of the body." Eph 5:23."Who forgiveth all our iniquities, who healeth ALL our diseases." Ps 103:3.Jesus said, "Therefore, I say unto you, whatever things you ask when you pray, BELIEVE that you receive them, and you will have them." Mk 11:24."With long life will I satisfy him." Ps 91:16."I have found a ransom (margin:atonement), his flesh shall be fresher than a child's; he shall return to the days of his youth." Ex 23:25,26.Ps 107:20 says, "He sendeth His Word and healeth them and delivereth them from their destructions.""Great multitudes followed Him and He healed them ALL..." Mt 12:15,16; Lu 6:18,19."God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and power, who went about doing good, and healing ALL that were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him." Acts 10:38.The Lord says of fearing Him and departing from evil, "It shall be HEALTH (Hebrew-medicine) to thy navel and marrow (Hebrew-moistening) to thy bones." Pr 3:7,8.Isa 53:5 assures us, "By whose stripes, we are healed.""...whatsoever ye ask the Father in My name, that, will I do, that, the Father may be glorified in the Son." John 14:13."Beloved, I wish above all things, that, thou mayest prosper and BE IN HEALTH, even as thy soul prospereth." 3 John 2."...no good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly." Ps 84:11."Because he hath set his love upon Me, therefore, will I deliver him." Ps 91:14."Offer unto God thanksgiving and pay thy vows unto the Most High and call upon Me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify Me." Ps 50:14,15.Paul wrote to the Ephesians to obey the first commandment with promise, "That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth." Eph 6:3."Submit yourselves, therefore, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." Ja 4:7."He was manifested to DESTROY the works of the devil." 1 John 3:8."And when He had called unto Him His twelve disciples, He gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal ALL manner of sickness and ALL manner of disease." Mt 10:1."And Jesus went about...healing EVERY sickness and EVERY disease among the people." Mt 9:35."...and as many as touched Him were made, perfectly, whole." Mt 14:36."And Jesus went forth and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and He healed their sick." Beano caught on to what I call 'The identity crisis of Christianity'. It runs deep because it's not just words, it effects our humanity, our 'personhood' and our ability to relate to reality, to The Lord, and EVERYTHING (including how we UNDERSTAND and THINK). After reading this, you'll understand how much the teaching about SELF neglect (surrendering SELF) is devastating and dehumanizing (SELF abasement, Colossians 2:18 and 23).What Jesus did on the cross was completely sufficient that every person on earth have salvation available to them (Luke 3:6), but not all flesh is alike (1 Corinthians 15:39). Some people will simply come to The Lord out of hunger, but not drink of His spirit (Revelation 7:16). There are better things that belong to salvation (Hebrews 6:9) such as a purified conscience when learning from God's eternal spirit (Hebrews 9:14) and being able to hear His voice (John 10:27) so that you can "live by" His true word (Ephesians 6:17) and He can be everything to you (1 Corinthians 15:28) so that you have a truly personal relationship with Him (1 Corinthians 15:28, with all of your idiosyncracies, habits, etc.) so that your love is made perfect (1 John 4:18). The fear of God is only the beginning of wisdom (unbelievers should fear not having God in their life) and is a teaching of MAN (Isaiah 29:13). Scripture is the introductory doctrine of Jesus (Hebrews 6:1) and the "word of truth" (Ephesians 1:13, 2 Timothy 2:15, John 14:6) that all "babes in Christ" must learn for self discipline, etc. because they still think in fleshly ways, but we must mature in Christ to learn the "depths of God (1 Corinthians 2:10).Many people will say "I don't know if I would have the faith to do what Job did", but true Godly Christianity is not about faith, the book of Job is a LOVE story, that's how he stayed true to God after all he endured. Faith can falter, but love never fails. I have faith in the laws of physics also, but I don't love them. TRUE Christianity is a LOVE ("the GREATEST OF THESE", 1 Corinthians 13:13), God is LOVE. We should not walk by faith, we should "walk by the spirit" (Galatians 5:16 and 25) and live under the law of liberty (James 1:25 and 2:12) because the law of Ten Commandments and the law of ordinances ('commands' in the N.T.) were abolished on the cross (and without those 'laws of sin', sin lies dead (Romans 7:8).There should be NO self abasement (Colossians 2:18 and 23) so that you can have a PERSONal relationship and SELF discipline to establish a CONSCIENCE "in my inmost SELF" (Romans 7:22). Self abasement is a very bad teaching that the god of confusion has inflicted on humanity and it causes 'The identity crisis of Christianity and a strong delusion (2 Thessalonians chap. 2 and Ezekiel 14:4-8). Being saddened (low of spirit) by all of the corruption, hatred/resentment, cheating, suffering of this world, the PRESENT heaven should be in a Christian's heart (Matthew 5:3) along with the "rivers of living water" (John 7:38) that were mixed with Christ's blood at the cross (drink of them). The strong delusion has always existed along with the stumbling block of one's own heart. Keep your humility genuine, it is the requirement and maintenance of wisdom.All verses are from the RSV.
