The Imam gave a great presentation of the basics of Islam, completewith a video.After the presentations, time was provided for questions and answers.When it was my turn, I directed my question to the Imam andasked:'Please, correct me if I'm wrong, but I understand that mostImams and clerics of Islam have declared a holy jihad [Holy war] againstthe infidels of the world and, that by killing an infidel, (which is acomm and to all Muslims) they are assured of a place in heaven. If that's the case, can you give me the definition of an infidel?'There was no disagreement with my statements and, withouthesitation, he replied, 'Non-believers!'I responded, 'So, let me make sure I have this straight. Allfollowers of Allah have been commanded to kill everyone who is not ofyour faith so they can have a place in heaven. Is that correct?'The expression on his face changed from one of authority andcommand to that of 'a little boy who had just been caught with his handin the cookie jar.'He sheepishly replied, 'Yes.'I then stated, 'Well sir, I have a real problem trying toimagine Pope Benedict commanding all Catholics to kill those of yourfaith or Dr. Charles Stanley ordering all Protestants to do the same inorder to guarantee them a place in heaven!'The Imam was speechless!I continued, 'I also have problem with being your 'friend' whenyou and your brother clerics are ! telli ng your followers to kill me! Allah and the Christian God are not the same. Muslims will tell you that their god and the God of the Bible are the same, but they are not. How can they be the same when Christians believe that Jesus is God and they do not? But yes, they do think of Jesus as a prophet. Anyways, I felt a little clarification was needed. Oh, also, I looked up the entire first post on snopes and they show it to be false. I always like to look up any kind of stories which are circulated on the internet. I am not trying to bash anything haanne is posting, I just think it is imperative to always check resources.Toodles!

Jesus gives salvation, hope, freedom, and heals wounds. Helps lost find the way. Gives strength to the tired, and Joy to those who are in sorrow. Actually, Allah and Yahweh are the same person. The Muslim faith is an early off shoot from Judaism. The Quran has the Torah as it's first five books, same as the OT. Mahamed is not a god per se, he is a prophet who is said to have recieved an angelic visitation during which he recieved revelation about Allah and his demands. This is somewhat similar story to Moses on Mount Sinai.
