Yes, Jesus Christ Himself is the gate and the door, but that does not mean that what was said by Jacob was reported incorrectly. However it was interpreted incorrectly.

Here is what Jacob said: And he was afraid, and said, How dreadful is this place! this is none other but the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven. (Gen 28:17).

But just before he said that he also said: Surely the LORD is in this place... (v 16), and so he named this place Beth-El, the house of God (v 19)

But this statement by Phoneman is incorrect, confusing, and misleading: "The "house of God" is the "gate of heaven". Both are symbols of the church which Jesus built Himself and upon Himself as our Lord and Savoir Jesus Christ - the only name given among men whereby we must be saved. Salvation is through Christ alone, not "the church" or any church.

Overall, the OP is confusing and confused. The primary lesson from this vision seen by Jacob is that the Abrahamic Covenant would be fulfilled through Jacob and his seed, meaning (a) the nation or twelve tribes of Israel, and (b) Christ who would also be the seed of Abraham. Later on, the Angel of the Lord (Jesus) would wrestle with Jacob and rename him "Israel" (a prince with God and men).

Natural to spiritual sister (they crucified his person, now they crucify his character (Law)). It happens again, Ecclesiastes 1:9, 3:15; 1 Corinthians 15:46, etc.

Amazed at how people can have such a flippant, defiant attitude toward their own sinful behavior...the same kind of behavior that made necessary the DEATH of our precious Lord and Savior. It's Satanic blindness at its best.

No it is based on living faith which produces good works (which is Christ Jesus working in us who continue to believe; Ephesians 2:8-10). James 2.

Revelation 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

We know it says "Blessed are they that do his commandments" (as God promised, Psalms 12:6-7, etc), from the following texts that John is citing from:

Psalms 118:19 Open to me the gates of righteousness: I will go into them, and I will praise the LORD:

Isaiah 26:2 Open ye the gates, that the righteous nation which keepeth the truth may enter in.

Ecclesiastes 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man (Adam).

I for one appreciate this wonderful, Biblical exegesis. The truth is so covered over with layer upon layer of error that it confirms why God said, "Ye shall seek Me, and shall find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart."

No, the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit is disbelief and denying Jesus Christ altogether, via the unsaved remain unsaved. The true Gospel is confirmed through belief, not works.

Ephesians 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

Mankind can always leave God, which is exactly what your next citation reveals.

Well, born again believers are not the rest of mankind. They are separate from the world and chosen by God to preach the true Gospel, which is Grace salvation.

1 Thessalonians 5:19 KJB - Quench not the Spirit.

A believer can grieve and quench the spirit Eph 4:30, but that does not effect their profession of faith in Rom 10:9. If only it were that easy to lose your salvation, nobody would make it. Instead of God kicking us out of the family, He sanctifies and disciplines us Heb 12.

1 Samuel 16:14 KJB - But the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD troubled him.

The Holy Spirit had different purposes in the OT vs NT. Samuel existed before Pentecost and before the seal of God, Acts 2:1-4, Eph 1:13-14.

1 Timothy 4:1 KJB - Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

Heb 6:4-6 and Heb 10:26-27 are actually a cross reference for the crucifixion of Christ and is using metaphorical language to describe the maturity of believers in Christ.

Not many understand that Heb 6 thought process actually begins at Heb 5:11.

Heb 5:14 But solid food is for the (mature), who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.

Heb 6:1 Therefore let us move beyond the elementary teachings about Christ and be taken forward to (maturity), not laying again the foundation of repentance from acts that lead to death, and of faith in God,

This has nothing to do with losing salvation, less one believes God throws believers into hell for lack of maturity, which is on the borderline of insanity. God bless.

2 Peter 2:20 KJB - For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.

This entire chapter is about false prophets and teachers, nonbelievers who had the knowledge of Christ but never came to faith in Him, Rom 10:9.

Rom 8:31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
Rom 8:32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
Rom 8:33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.
Rom 8:34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
Rom 8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

Notice the word "elect" in Rom 8:33. These are His chosen which are born again believers. Also notice the 17 things that cannot separate us from Him, including demons and present and future.

Salvation is based in covenantal relationship, a marriage to Christ Jesus, in decision [and thus entering into baptism], since a person can go from unbelieving to believing to unbelieving if they choose to do so:

1 Corinthians 7:15 KJB - "But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. ..."

As it was in the days of Israel the peoples:

This is referring to not forcing people into an unhappy marriage, an unbeliever remaining with a believer. God calls us to live in peace and not bitterness, and if divorce brings peace then so be it. No, a born again believer cannot go from unbelieving to believing to unbelieving. If they do then never had the root of salvation, which is Jesus Christ himself, 1 Tim 4:1.

1 Cor 7:15-16 But if the unbeliever leaves, let it be so. The brother or the sister is not bound in such circumstances; God has called us to live in peace. 16How do you know, wife, whether you will save your husband? Or, how do you know, husband, whether you will save your wife?

As it was in the days of Israel is no longer. Everything changed with the death, burial and resurrection of Christ, via the blood of Christ saves, not animal sacrifice.

No, we do see those who once believed, who had partaken of the Holy Ghost, and of the powers of the world to come, etc, commit such things, because they blasphemed away the Holy Ghost, just as King Saul did.

and Heb 6, Heb 10 is using figurative language describing the maturity in the believer, less you believe God throws believers into hell for lack of maturity which some might see as satanism? God bless.

Read the previous quotations, since Paul is speaking to the Church in 1 Corinthians 6, and he was worried about their standing before God:

1 Corinthians 6:8 Nay, ye do wrong, and defraud, and that your brethren.
1 Corinthians 6:9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
1 Corinthians 6:10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

Paul wrote to the church to remind them of their standing, by grace through living faith. They could fall as Lucifer or Adam did, and they could be lost as King Saul was. This is why Paul reminded them of being washed. They were entering into territory where thy could go back to wallowing in the mire, become what they were before, only worse:

No, Paul is simply giving us encouragement, similar to the warnings in Hebrews. "Reminding us of sin" is encouragement to strengthen our walk in Christ.

Heb 3:13 But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called “Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin's deceitfulness.

Heb 10:25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

Heb 12:5 And have you completely forgotten this word of encouragement that addresses you as a father addresses his son? It says, “My son, do not make light of the Lord's discipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you,

Also on the word "believe". A peron can stop believing. It is their choice.

They stop "believing" because they never had that conversion in John 3:3, they never had the root of Christ.

Believe, which speaks of living abiding, continuning and daily faith. It is not merely a one-time off event.

The conversion from nonbeliever to believer is a one time event. Sanctification and discipline is the life long process, in which God works in us until death.

Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God (Romans 10:17), and thus the prayer of give us our "daily" bread (see also Psalms 77:13). A person, can choose to refuse to believe and choose to hear the word of God.

Key word "believeth", active present ongoing action ... Jesus will lose nothing, of those that "believeth", and so endureth unto the end, the same shall be saved:

It is not a one time eating or drinking, but a continual daily, moment by moment feeding upon the word, an active living abiding believing with all thine heart

And that's what NON-OSAS does, they mix Rom 10:9 with daily sanctification for the rest of your life. Coming to faith in Christ and walking in sanctification daily are separate topics all together.

Matthew 24:13 KJB - But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

This passage actually has nothing to do with our dispensation. It's referring to martyrdom inside the 70th week of Daniel.

Again, believe is not a one time off event. It is to be a continual daily and living abiding faith. Otherwise, those who cease to believe, perish.

No, belief is a one time event in Rom 10:9, sanctification is the process.

James 2 has nothing to do with losing salvation, rather it's referring to Godly righteousness or lack thereof.

Natural to spiritual sister (they crucified his person, now they crucify his character (Law)). It happens again, Ecclesiastes 1:9, 3:15; 1 Corinthians 15:46, etc.

James 2 has nothing to do with losing salvation, rather it's referring to Godly righteousness or lack thereof.

21 Was not our father Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar?

23And the scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,” and he was called God’s friend.

24You see that a person is considered righteous by what they do and not by faith alone.

25In the same way, was not even Rahab the prostitute considered righteous for what she did when she gave lodging to the spies and sent them off in a different direction?



And guess who Jesus was talking to here below. Jesus Christ himself (death, burial and resurrection) is the gate to salvation, less you be one with the Pharisee in hell.

Jhn 10:1 "Very truly I tell you Pharisees, anyone who does not enter the sheep pen by the gate, but climbs in by some other way, is a thief and a robber.

Jhn 10:7-10 Therefore Jesus said again, “Very truly I tell you, I am the gate for the sheep. 8All who have come before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep have not listened to them. 9I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture. 10The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.



And those who have the root are born again believers who depend on Christ to keep them saved and not their filthy works or religion.

It's in Isaiah 64:6

But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

Amazed at how people can have such a flippant, defiant attitude toward their own sinful behavior...the same kind of behavior that made necessary the DEATH of our precious Lord and Savior. It's Satanic blindness at its best.

"He that covereth his sin shall NOT prosper, but whosoever confesseth AND forsaketh his sin shall have mercy."

Kinda hard to forsake something that is worn right out front as a badge of honor.

No, it's not satanic blindness, it's rather accusing the believer of sinful behavior of the worst kind. That's all the devil can do, which is pretty weak and slimy if you ask me.

The liquor drinker can keep his bottle. The adulterer can keep his side woman. The pornographer can keep his vile habit. The cigarette smoker can keep his tobacco. The thief may keep on stealing. The liar may keep on denying the truth. The idolater may keep his debasing but tantalizing entertainment - all that leads to destruction.

But where, in the Mathew verses you quoted (Mathew 7:15 and 7:22) Does JESUS say our works are as filthy rags?

I'm sorry, I just don't see anywhere in the N.T. where Jesus says nothing but that we are to do works.
