I downloaded IE 7 today. It is certainly different. It's too new for me to tell you how it is but I kind of like it so far.

I like firefox and have used it for a long time. And to be honest it was easy to rave about it because nothing can touch it for speed and ease of use. Now IE7 has got me in a spin, I loath to use something microsoft but IE7 is good and I think it might even be quicker than firefox

IE 7 has definitely leveled the playing field. Microsoft has always been good at recognizing trends and it seems they have done it again. As it stands now, after about a few weeks of having each, I use them both. I think in most regards they are equal with the difference being some of the addons that FF has.

I will probably stay with IE because it is familiar. I do use firefox to do my online Christmas shopping. That way my wife can't see where the browser has been. I dont' think she has any idea what the firefox shortcut is for.

http://www.proxyblind.org/test.shtml is a sight where you can test your connection and browser security. IE 7 is more of a firefox/linux mix. It pre stated the Vista theme, another linux lookalike product, and a resource hog, but without the bells and whistles. While IE 6 and 7 both will tes result as "unsuitable", perhaps even showing you your own hard drive files, the firefox browser will rate at least a "good" or an "above average". With some tweaks, it will rate an "excellent". (noScript should be installed)For any webmaster, multiple OS and browsers should be handy, and the Web Developer extension for firefox is essential. My browser test in firefox is as follows, but, I can make it read to my fancy ~User Agent-----------UnknownUsed Software-------UnknownOperating System----UnknownReferrer-------------UnknownLanguage------------EnglishFirefox 2.>> can be made to run much faster ~Firefox's configuration is a long list of keys and values. To view this list, type about:config into the Firefox address bar. Then, enter the name of the key you want to update in the "Filter" field. Tab width modification: * Key: browser.tabs.tabMinWidth * Modified Value: 75 (fit in more tabs before overflow enables scroll) * Alternate Modified Value: 0 (disable scroll entirely) * Default: 100Firefox has this wacky little feature that downloads pages from links it thinks you may click on pages you view, like the top result on a page of Google results. This means you use up bandwidth and CPU cycles and store history for web pages you may not have ever viewed. Creepy, eh? To stop that madness, set the network.prefetch-next key to false. * Key: network.prefetch-next * Modified Value: falseTo stop sending your referer header to everyoneSet network.http.sendRefererHeader to "0"Speeding up firefox for broadband:Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true"Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true"Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to 8.Limit allowed cookies to those set by the originating website, modify the preference: network.cookie.cookieBehavior to "1".layout.spellcheckDefault=2 will enable spellcheck for text inputs like this BB, not just text areas. And if you are running Tor, you can speed up your browser a great deal ~First, open Firefox's advanced settings menu by running about:configfrom the address bar. Modify the following and set them tothe suggested values shown here for maximum performance:network.http.keep-alive.timeout:600 (300ms default is OK usually, but 600 is better.)network.http.max-persistent-connections-per-proxy:16 (Default is 4)network.http.pipelining:true (Default- false. Some old HTTP/1.0 servers can't handle it.)network.http.pipelining.maxrequests:8 (No default)network.http.proxy.keep-alive:true (Default- true, but double check)network.http.proxy.pipelining:true (Default- false)Afterwards, just restart the browser and experience the difference

IE 7 is a great improvement to the old versions of IE. The best thing they added were the Tabs. But since I use Mac it Safari for me I guess.
