The only thing I would like to say here is God never caused the storm, satan did.
If the works done are godly, why should we not believe them? In the case of Jesus we would all likely at least give lip service to saying they are godly. But it is someone else we know today in our day to day activities or some of those on this forum who has at times rubbed us the wrong way, how quickly would we be to give them a "like" or a favorable remark for the good work or words they have posted now? Would we allow our preconceived notions or biases stop us from replying or replaying honestly? All of might say deny the truth, but then in our hearts what is the truth that God has revealed to us?Instead of starting a new thread, I’m visiting an old one. Once again returning to “faith without works is dead.”
John 10:32-38
[32] Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me? [33] The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God. [34] Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods? [35] If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken; [36] Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God? [37] If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not.
38 “But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him.”
"Though you believe not me, believe the works: that you may know, and believe"
That is astonishing to me: Jesus Christ, the Son of God is saying “though you believe not me...believe the works”
James 2:18-20
[18] Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and —I will shew thee my faith by my works.—19] Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. [20] But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
John 14:9-14
[9] Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then , Shew us the Father? [10] Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: —but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.— [11] —Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake.— [12] Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. [13] And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. [14] If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
“Greater works than these shall he do”—what are these greater works??? That show the Father is in us?
Good post @VictoryinJesus,
Yes only He can remove our sins as far as the East is to the West
Psalm 103:12
as far as the east is from the west,
so far has he removed our transgressions from us.
“I Will Remember Your Sins No More” HEBREWS 8:12 <----now, got to say...I have had a hard time forgetting them, lol.
God Bless,
