I did like your last post, Mayflower, but would you write when you have time about why Hope does not believe in God? Since she is sitting next to Jacob. I believe you have something in mind for how Hope comes to believe in Jesus Christ and so I do not want to spoil that "Hallmark" moment you want to write, regarding your character, but I thought you would build that background for why she does not believe in God before you lead into the Hallmark moment later on in the story.

Lol. I am winging this. I have mever been good at the hallmark moments in getting characters out of the pit either. So I am really liking campfire style for this. Because I really want my writing to glorify God. I want to finish stories. :D Not just stop in the middle, bwcause I can't get out. Think y'all could help me? I will edit this and think about her story. Basically, Hope always felt she was obligated to believe as the pastor's daughter. Though she felt called when she was younger, when she was old enough to understand her sin and the need for salvation, one of her older friends had passed unbelieving. It was hard for her to accept. And hard for her to accept her dad's death. She doesn't want to face her friend having gone to Hell for unbelief.

@Mayflower Also.. if it is not too much trouble to edit your last post.. it is Casey's Game Boy that Sherwin wants to play with in the tent, not Hope's.

Sure thing! Typo.

@Mayflower I can make it so that every body that is a christian at that group calls every one brothers or sisters as spiritual relatives for how Colby can be calling Rick his brother even though Colby himself lives with the homeless at the theater when Rick lives in a normal home for Casey to be running by.

Sure that sounds good. What do ya'll think of it being like a gang? It would be a good for the revival theme. :)

@Mayflower I can explain Rick's lack of maturity as a christian because although he is a believer, he would rather live now than follow Christ later. So his sowing to the flesh shows in his behavior, obviously.

Definitely so. The pastor of my church came to know Christ long before he even stopped laughing about even being in a church setting. He was into drugs and everything and now God has set him free from all of that and he is now a pastor! And he lead all of his family to Christ. It is pretty awesome. I kind of see a testimony like that in Rick.

@Mayflower I'll be heading off to bed. It is 10:13 PM here. I hope you have a good night, sister. :)

Sure thing. :) I have always got to bed at like 2am, but with Lorena waking up earlier, I am trying to stay off my phone at least after 11pm. The "momma needs to get some sleep or she can't keep up with her commando roller and scooter initiative. My hubby is home for 4 days, so he watched Peanut while I fell asleep at 7pm, so yeh that is why I have been off. :) @Nancy, y'all feel free to write whenever. With campfire, it is awesome!!!! I will probably post once or twice a day. But on rpg sites, they recommend like trying to post like once or twice a week. This keeps it from feel like an obligation, but just for fun since this is what it is for. :D with school starting monday, I have to balance my time carefully. :)

Y'all have a good night.

Okay. That helps define her. Thanks.

Thanks.

It could happen. How the story develops will be key as we all contribute.

Definitely so. The pastor of my church came to know Christ long before he even stopped laughing about even being in a church setting. Well, it would be interesting if you adapt your pastor's background story to Rick's present state if you want to or ....you or Nancy or I can modify it to be different in leading to that direction sooner with Rick and the whole gang at the Revival.

I don't know how long I will be doing this; but Lord be willing, I shall continue to play this type of game with His help to the glory of God.

Thanks for leading it.

@Mayflower I admit that the dialogue I am giving the young adults seem to be too mature for their age, but with God, anything is possible. ;)

@Mayflower Okay. Got it done. Hope it is okay...Time for breakfast. Bye for now.

Remember it is just for fun, but I tell you what. That was so heart moving I am still thinking about it. Ill paste here what I wrote:

(Wow JIF...that was perfect. Once I start choking back tears I am going to come back and have Mr. Morrison do his bit of devotion. Reel her in. Lol. It may take a little while. Maybe a little later this afternoon. :) praise God! This is one question sooo many people have, is why there is so much pain in the world. But sin causes it. Not God. He loves us so much. )

I don't know if y'all have some ideas, but I am thinking she can be one of many in this story who finds Christ. Grows in Christ.

Okay, so question, before I write. I believe in age of accountability. So I am trying to decide to write generally as to "good" people dying and going to Hell, or as a child, Mr. Morrison's belief that God does spare children before they have a good understanding. At 8ish, I don't know. I think some kids understand, but some are older. I will have to search scripture to see what it says. But I don't feel right writing it down without the right scripture to back it up. Then it is sort of like a false hope to Hope. :D I do believe this though for children. My heart is in Children's Ministry. I think the biggest thing for young children is to let them know God loves them. As far as an understanding of sin, I work with kids 4 to 7.

I am not a theologian or anything. :D But I may need to write generally for loved ones who may not be saved upon dying, because I have not studied too much about age of accountability...though I believe in God's mercy that He would.

We are going out of town today though, so if y'all don't mind, I may just study a little over the weekend. It isn't the story writing I am as concerned about as in writing the right message for those who read this in the future. This is exactly the kind of stories I need to write. Personally I feel I can write again this way. I have stopped writing for a little over 6 months now, because I get stuck. If I still need help Monday, maybe I can post what I have and y'all can tell me what y'all think. But the last couple posts were really moving and now the preacher is talking, so this is important.

Just plotting y'all. Easier to do on my phone at night. But I told myself I am getting off at 11pm at night from now on. Nooooo. :D

Can y'all help? This is the scripture I was thinking about Mr. Morrison sharing.

When Jesus saw the crowds, He went up on the mountain; and after He sat down, His disciples came to Him. He opened His mouth and began to teach them, saying, "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. "Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. "Blessed are the gentle, for they shall inherit the earth. "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied. "Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy. "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. "Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. "Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great; for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
Matthew 5:1‭-‬12 NASB

The word blessed shows up nine times in these twelve verses. That means it is an important idea. Matthew 5:1-12 is known as the Beatitudes. Beatitudes is an old, fancy word that means blessed. The Beatitudes start off a section in Matthew called the Sermon on the Mount. Chapters 5-7 of Matthew record many teachings, or words of Jesus. Chapters 8 and 9 of Matthew record many of his miracles, or the works of Jesus. This whole section, Matthew 5-9 paint a pretty good picture of who Jesus is, what he did, and how we can be more like him. The Beatitudes, or Blessings, are like an introduction to these chapters.

I want you to listen, because this is very, very important. We can be homeless, family-less, and in the hospital, and still be very, very blessed.“The Lord gives strength to his people; the Lord blesses his people with peace.” When we follow Jesus, God strengthens us and gives us peace. We don’t have to have nice things or even be healthy to be blessed. We are blessed when God is with us, and God is with us, in our hearts, when we choose to love him and follow his commandments. Jeremiah 17:7 says, “Blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him.”

Someone want to play Mr. Morrison and deliver this someway? I really just read children's sermons and get ideas from this when teaching the kids. Teens have a lot more they deal with on a daily basis. Like the example in this story. And some questions like Hope's, I believe can go along with the hope found in this scripture. I am just unsure how to deliver it. :)

Id rather have the aha moment with Hope. :D I already posted a long post anyway. This is just an idea. :)

@JesusIsFaithful I think we shouldn't mention any controversial topics in the story except that which pertains to salvation. Please edit your post.

Remember that the Holy Spirit is like a Teacher. So let the Holy Spirit teach. This is what it means when we pray for the Holy Spirit to show up.

Thanks for understanding about the discussion @JesusIsFaithful . when I was a newer Christian, I didn't care for theology and debate. I stayed in the recovery and game threads myself in my early Christian walk...this way we can enjoy both discussion and game. I won't promise to reply, but I will read. :)

I understand. I sort of feel that way too. Why I stopped writing. :D It isn't supposed to feel like a yoke of burden. I have felt so tired lately in my mind. I may just need to take a break of being online. It is just hard. I deleted my games and stuff off my phone, because I get bad anxiety. I am trying to watch what I put in my mind. It is hard.

Lol...we have enough coming at us from the evil one as well as life in general. And, IMHO the battlefield starts in our minds, and I can (as well as most if not all of us) can certainly attest to that-especially over the last few months. Like you, I completely ceased all online games as I was just playing them over and over, mindlessly and-just to pass time!!! Yikes! time is such a gift from God! So, let us all rest easy here-maybe another time and season for a story...♥
