If a person is a Christian, that means he's saved and HAS repented. No one is saved without repentance. Christ's sacrifice made a way to be saved from ALL our sins, past, present, and future. He gives us ETERNAL life and not temporary life. John 10:28

The question is a basic misconception of sin and what it is, and what repentance is. Repentance is the opposite side of the coin so-to-speak of faith and involves a mindset to change direction for want of a better term. However, it is commonly believed to be a form of confession and "I promise not to do it again" type of thing. However, just because someone who has repented commits a sin does not mean that the faith (and their desire to repent) has changed, but rather got involved in a weak moment because of the flesh nature. In the Old Testament, there were five offerings, and two of them involved sin. One was the trespass offering. If one sinned, that would be offered with restitution. Why the sin offering then? That offering dealt with the condition of sin inherent in our father Adam. In other words, one dealt with the act, the other the condition. When one worries about committing a sin and did not get a chance to repent before the (let's say) plane crashed equates the concept of sin with acts rather than the condition. This actually is a dangerous view of sin in that one is (whether they realize it or not) keeping score and for every sin, and counter it with confession. It short circuits the actual condition of sin and our inherent nature and total depravity without Christ. Salvation deals with the condition, and the believer is a new creation in Christ Jesus, and therefore does not have to worry about keeping such a score---- it's been dealt with already at the cross. The fact that our old nature is still with us and we will still trespass is evident that we are all dying physically so that our old flesh nature will be totally destroyed, only to be raised again a new creation in the resurrection.

In answer to your addition, again, such a question would presuppose that sin is "keeping score" (see my post above). In addition, this supposition assumes that the person's "confession" has power to save, ie. if I confess all my sins, then I will be saved. If I hold anything back, I will not be.This has nothing to do with bible teaching and because the initial premise is wrong, has nothing to do with the salvation condition.God already knows that a person in and of themselves will not change, and indeed does not have the power to change. The desire and faith to even come to Christ is given by the Spirit, so God will have to work with the imperfect person one is.

The punishment of the incorrigibly wicked is eternal death (that is, to never live again) not eternal torture. Examples of what happens to the incorrigibly wicked can be read in many places in the Bible. Ro.6:23 and Jo.3:16 say much the same thing.Ro.6:23 For the wages of sin is DEATH, BUT the GIFT of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Jo.3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish BUT have everlasting life. Notice that DEATH or PERISHING is spoken of in contrast to eternal LIFE! Death or perishing is not speaking about life some where else doing something else. Notice also that eternal life is God’s gift. It is not something that we are born with! If God does not give us eternal life we can not get it for ourselves. Before we read Ezk.18:4,20 we need to go back to Genesis. A misunderstanding of the word “soul” is at the crux of much of this misunderstanding. The word translated soul in Gen.2:7 is “Nephesh” (neh’-fesh) the word means a living creature, not something in us, that has its own life apart from us. The first time the word is used in the Bible is Gen.1:21 and is speaking about whales and other animals. This word is continually used to refer to animals of every kind. A few examples can be found in Gen.1:21,24 2:19, 9:10 and on and on. When it is used in Gen.2:7, man becomes a (nephesh) a living creature or a living soul. Man is not given a “nephesh,” he is one. So now that we understand what a soul is and what it is not we can begin to understand Ezk.18:4 “ Behold, all souls are Mine; The soul of the father As well as the soul of the son is Mine; The soul who sins shall die. And again in verse 20 The soul who sins shall die. The son shall not bear the guilt of the father, nor the father bear the guilt of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself. Malachi 4speaks to the time when the wicked shall be destroyed.1“For behold, the day is coming, Burning like an oven, And all the proud, yes, all who do wickedly will be stubble. And the day which is coming shall burn them up,” [COLOR="Red]“That will leave them neither root nor branch. That is total annihilation Now read verse 3.“You shall trample the wicked, For they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet On the day that I do this,” Says the LORD of hosts. Jesus speaks of this event in Mat.25:32-33,41 32 All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. 33 And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left. Verse 41 “Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire ...We just read what happens when these wicked souls end up in the fire in Mal.4 In Revelation 20:6 we read that “Blessed and holy are those who share in the first resurrection. For them the second death holds no power... So the second death does have power over some. That second death is forever, eternal, ETERNAL DEATH. Few will choose this fate but some rebellious souls will. That is a whole other subject for another time.

Thank you Thomas D; That is beautiful. I always knew that the God of the Bible; the God of love would never let someone be tourtured forever, for only 70 years of not going His way. Only a monster could do such a thing. This is truth that this world needs to hear. Thanks again.

If you were say a heathen in the Jungle and have never heard of Christ, I think you'll have a second chance during the millennial reign. If you've heard of Christ and the testimony but have not repented and chosen to follow God, you're entitled to hell.

This is where half of the forum divides. God is a Judge, He makes the rules. Those who don't follow the rules shall be punished. It's only just and fair that sinners get the same punishment as Satan. Revelation 20:15If anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.Revelation 20:14And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.Second: means secondDeath: θάνατος (thanatos)
1) the death of the body a) that separation (whether natural or violent) of the soul and the body by which the life on earth is ended

with the implied idea of future misery in hell1) the power of death c) since the nether world, the abode of the dead, was conceived as being very dark, it is equivalent to the region of thickest darkness i.e. figuratively, a region enveloped in the darkness of ignorance and sin2) metaph., the loss of that life which alone is worthy of the name, a) the misery of the soul arising from sin, which begins on earth but lasts and increases after the death of the body in hell3) the miserable state of the wicked dead in hell4) in the widest sense, death comprising all the miseries arising from sin, as well physical death as the loss of a life consecrated to God and blessed in him on earth, to be followed by wretchedness in hell
Isaiah 66:24And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh.Fire: God's wrath.Matthew 13:50And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.Fire: God's wrath.Furnace of fire: Place of God's wrath (ie. Lake of Fire). I found a rather delightful verse just now!Revelation 20:14And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. There can be no more death and no more hell if it's cast into the lake of fire. The second death is the eternal separation from God. The people that are in the Lake of Fire will have a worm (reoccurring memories of when they could have repented, probably) that never dies, and the fire (God's wrath) will never be quenched.

Three HellsThere are 3 you know, don't you?1) Hades simply means "pit" or "grave." Ecclesiastes 9:5-6 and verse 10 say this about this "hell." For the living know that they will die; But the dead know nothing, And they have no more reward, For the memory of them is forgotten. 6 Also their love, their hatred, and their envy have now perished; There is no thought process once you are dead. You will have to be resurrected before you can think again.2) Gehenna is a place of punishment. This is the "Lake of Fire." This too is referred to as "hell." Since Ro.6:23 says For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. And Ezek.18:4, 20 say Behold, all souls are Mine; The soul of the father as well as the soul of the son is Mine; The soul who sins shall die.20 The soul who sins shall die. The son shall not bear the guilt of the father, nor the father bear the guilt of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself. We should see what happens to these in this "Gehenna." Malachi 4:1, 3 say “For behold, the day is coming, Burning like an oven, And all the proud, yes, all who do wickedly will be stubble. And the day which is coming shall burn them up,” “That will leave them neither root nor branch. [That is total annihilation] Now read verse 3. “You shall trample the wicked, For they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet On the day that I do this,” Says the LORD of hosts.3) There is one more "Tartaroo" it is only used once in the Bible. In 2Pet.2:4. This one refers to a place where Satan and his demons will be restrained forever. This is the only one that lasts forever. This is never applied to people.

I know, right now, that there are sins that I don't even know about that I haven't repented of. Sins of my youth, sins that I haven't even considered. Sin... sin... sin... unrepented sin (specifically as you said.) And, I know I'm going to heaven.I have placed my faith in Christ's righteousness, not my own.

Jesus died for our sins so that we may be reconciled to God through faith in him.so if I should die in something that I have not yet asked forgiveness for, then I am still forgiven .WE who accept the gift of salvation are saved from death and hell.. Death in the spirit, of course, and no hell.

We aren't saved from death and hell. We're saved from God's wrath.

I'm pretty sure that death (the 2nd death), hell, and God's wrath, all go hand in hand...
