WAS it totally metaphorical? The Jewish system of worship was spoken of as being a mountain by all the people. Yet, it was moved aside. Perhaps only partially metaphoric.
Then, my dog went deaf, and his hearing was restored as the two of us sat by a lake, and I actually wept in prayer. He had full hearing by the time we walked back to the house. Nothing metaphorical there. It was a mountain no dog or man has ever climbed.
Same thing happened to me with TMJ...…. instantaneously!
Happy time's for your dog.

Paul's thorn lol, as if that is even relevant. Are you the one who had mild schizophrenia? i somehow translated that to MM and was making all kinds of suggestions that he didn't need lol. Anyway you can spend time putting down little children if you like, but imo this will not be a very fulfilling path, ok. i know you prolly don't wanna hear this, but your illness is self inflicted via your habits almost surely, and your vagus nerve is prolly the conduit, meaning in English that you have a crappy diet, CAFO protein, haven't ingested any Omega 3 in years, etc.
i split myself, with the help of a meth habit. Completely curable ok
Mental illness is not related to diet, trust me on that.

Correct. Mental illness is ultimately a spiritual problem.

Man is a tripartite being -- body, soul, and spirit. The spirit is dead in all human beings until they receive the gift of the Holy Spirit and are born again. However the soul is the seat of the mind, the will, and the emotions. And there is no remedy for the soul per se, since that is also where "the flesh" (sin nature) resides.

It is the spirit which needs to be *quickened* or brought to life by the Holy Spirit, since the spirit communicates with God and understands spiritual things. And it is only those who have the indwelling Holy Spirit who can have God's power working within them.

Mental illness specialists are compelled to keep everything on a secular and non-spiritual plane, therefore they cannot and will not discuss the power of the Holy Spirit (who is God). Therefore they have no *cure* for mental illness, so they turn to drugs for mind alteration (which is generally more harmful than beneficial).

There is also a close connection between mental illness and demon-possession, and once again psychotherapists have no remedy for this spiritual problem. But the Lord Jesus Christ does have a divine remedy, as seen in Scripture.

And they come to Jesus, and see him that was possessed with the devil, and had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid... And when he [Christ] was come into the ship, he that had been possessed with the devil prayed him [Christ] that he might be with him [Christ]. Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee. (Mark 5:15,18,29 KJB)

There's so much stigma around mental illness already, and you are making it worse by writing thing's like this. It make's it really hard for me to believe in Jesus when so many Christian's speak like this.

I don't want to end up like that, I don't want to shut down my rational thinking and adopt a superstitious mentality. You're taking huge liberties just to explain thing's about my mental illness that's based on thing's you don't even see.

Sorry I'm not tying to be nasty.

Illness is illness, whether its spiritual, mental, or physical. And diet can and does cure the majority of illnesses, of all persuasions. And where diet or change in lifestyle doesn't do the job, God can and does. A friend and member of my local church recently had a an accident. He is over 50 and feel from a ladder. Broke his leg in 3 places, and was diagnose at the hospital with bleeding on and swelling around the brain. He was immediately sent to a nearby hospital to get confirmation through scans etc, which did confirm the original diagnosis. He was then sent to a third hospital for surgery. Hospitals do not do this lightly. It is expensive, and to disrupt waiting lists for another emergency needs confirmation and certainty in diagnosis. And the machines they use today are extremely accurate. James needed surgery, urgently, his life was at stake. Prayers were offered, by his wife, friends, and the church.
Before surgery, doctors had final scans done to assist with surgery. No bleeding. No swelling. God can and does still work miracles. Mental issues, addictions, etc...are they curable? Yes!!! But God will not waste His time and effort on people who through laziness or lack of will are not willing to change lifestyles or habits it prevent a recurrence. For example, God will not heal your average obese person of diabetes if that person persists in continuing to eat without discipline and pander to selfish appetite.

When I was 58 years younger (15), a group of us teens worked half a day, each day of the school year, at a school for mentally repressed kids. I did this for a full year. The consensus was that fresh vegetables would be beneficial to these kids. So, we built a huge garden, and raised all sorts of food for them. The concept is still viable today.

Maybe the ones you are talking to are still learning and growing in the knowledge of His Word and that is all they know at the time.
Don't take this wrong but your comment sounds as if you are putting too much responsibility on others to help you with your problems....just trust in Him....and whatever measure of faith you have is enough for God.....remember the faith the grain of a mustard seed can move mountains.
Yes, Scripture is the key, by the Spirit of God giving understanding.
