Hi,I have posted this on another thread but i thought i should do the same here so here it is.I am interested to visit historical places mentioned in the bible both in old and New Testament. To mention some of them, the place where Abraham, Issac, Jacob and his sons lived. The mountain where Moses spoke with God. The city of Sodom and Gomora which was distroyed by fire, the wilderness Israel crossed, the Promised Land. The place where Moses split the red sea and Pharaohs died. The place Goliad was defeated by David. Jesus born place, where he preached and did miracles, where he died and was buried. I know I can’t do this by my own. I was wondering if anybody has visited some of the places mentioned or if anybody or a group would like to visit? Please let me know.ami

Hi Ami:I have never personally visited these places yet, but if I were I would try to hook up with your church or local churches to see if any of them have such travel in mind. Along that line, you could contact a reputable travel agent and see if he/she could hook you up with some church within your area that is going to do the same. Check for advertisements. Also search the Internet. There has to be something out there. As for your specifics, it may be difficult to get a package that visits the exact places you want. This implies a time where you can go about it alone on your own time for awhile, but I would not recommend it. Some of your locations are outside of Israel. I am not saying this because of the danger involved over there per se, (Israel claims that the supposed danger to tourists are exaggerated), but not being native to the area one could be taken advantage of. For example, my brother-in-law joked when they were in Egypt that if a cab driver asks for an extra tip or whatever, give it to them or else they might drop you off in the middle of nowhere. I don't know if that still goes on or not. Also, there is the added cost, and also the possibility of getting lost.Package tours with guides are best bet and you may have to settle for something that covers most of the places you want to visit, and maybe do other locations in piecemeal fashion.

Google "Footsteps of Jesus" and "Holy land tours"Also, I picked up a couple of good books on Amazon. One called "Walking in the footsteps of Jesus" and the other was "Jerusalem and the Holy Land". You'll enjoy both even if you never leave your couch.Donnie

I'm going on a Holy Land Tour later this year, I'm looking forward to it.But if you are unable to go on one of these tours, you can get some books about it, or look it up on the Internet, or even use Google Earth to find the places mentioned in the Bible (such as Sodom and Gomora, etc).
