Luke 13:6-96 He also spoke this parable: “A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it and found none. 7 Then he said to the keeper of his vineyard, ‘Look, for three years I have come seeking fruit on this fig tree and find none. Cut it down; why does it use up the ground?’ 8 But he answered and said to him, ‘Sir, let it alone this year also, until I dig around it and fertilize it. 9 And if it bears fruit, well. But if not, after that[a] you can cut it down.’” I believe I understand the meaning all the way up to verse 8. But once verse 8 starts, well I don't really understand what Jesus was trying to say here. Could anyone clarify on the meaning? Thanks in advance.~follower

I could interpt this a couple ways the fig tree could be a picture of the church,or it could be a picture of the believer its produced no fruit , to fertilize it is to feed it the word if it bears fruit it will be saved, if it doesnt cut it down I believe the three years + to be refering to the time of last half of the tribulation when Antichrist is here on earth in the middle of the week he declares himself God.God of course has shortened this time. But if you have beared no fruit by the End you will be cut down

It was really just the significance of the time frames that was alluding me
