Why when we as christians go out in public we call the emo/scene looking kid atheist. Or just Judge people??? I think it is bogus
1 Corinthians 2:14-16:The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. The spiritual man makes judgments about all things, but he himself is not subject to any man's judgment: "For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct him?" But we have the mind of Christ.
A spiritual man looks at things on a spiritual level. He investigates and considers the cause and effect of things. When a person gets upset... what is the real issue of his anger? Jesus said, "From the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks." He explained that it is not that which goes into a person that defiles them... but that which comes out. He referred to the pharisees as "white-washed tombs." The spiritual man makes curious judgments about the spiritual condition of a person, for why they are the way they are.I would not give a blanketing statement that says, "Everyone who dresses goth is an atheist." I agree, that would be ignorant. However,
it would also be ignorant to *not make a judgment* about such behavior.Proverbs 8:36 But whoever fails to find me harms himself; all who hate me love death."
When a person dresses in very "revealing" clothing... do we not wonder why? Do we say, "She must a prostitute?" Perhaps, or perhaps not. However, might we more likely say, "she dresses *like a prostitute*,"? The same, if you dress in all black, as a goth/emo does, I wonder or say, "They dress like a person who loves death... I wonder why?" The spiritual man makes judgments on all things, and it is not bogus. If you make the connection... that could mean they could be an outright atheist, or just confused. It does not mean they *are* an atheist, but the spiritual man makes spiritual judgments, and it isn't necessarily wrong to do so.What is wrong is to hold yourself above others, and condemn them without hope... holding them to higher standards than you hold to yourself (or that God holds to you).I admit unashamidly, I do wonder why a person would dress in all black, all the time... with eye-liner... all the gettup, and identify themselves with a scene that "loves death." The darkness... the emotional cloak... the sadness. I do wonder, "Why has a person decided to identify with such a life as this?"Are we not supposed to finding out IDENTITY IN CHRIST? Should we not adapt to the mind of Christ? The mind of Christ was not to identify Himself with a sect, or group, particularly one that is so associated with darkness (ergo, the black gettup).A spiritual man makes judgments on all things... but He himself... is judged rightly by no man. For we have the mind of Christ.
