I can if I want to; but as I said, I have a specific style in which I minister: that of concealing knowledge while at the same time dispersing it.
I always suspect chicanery when scripture alone proves a point and people dress it up and repackage it.

And I have always felt just the opposite when someone cannot post a Scripture, then continue, and show what that means to them today, in their everyday lives.

Typical Bible Class

Instructor: "Brother Jones, will you read Verse 1?"
Brother Jones reads it.
Instructor: "Brother Smith, can you tell us what that verse means?
Brother Smith: "Just what it says!"
All the Class: "AMEN!!!"
Instructor: "Thank you. Now, Brother Brown, will you read verse 2?"

And what I am saying is that I have understanding of what the scripture says (because Psalms 1:2-3 is characteristic of my life); and therefore for the most part I will merely reference a scripture and sometimes I will give the understanding, as did Ezra in Nehemiah 8:8.

Actually, turning from their sins would have happened before they got all wet.

In this order: 1) preaching 2) repentance 3) belief 4) baptism in Jesus' name 5) remission of sins 6) the gift of the Holy Ghost 7) living a holy life.

#2 and #3 may happen in the reverse order.

It's not always the same. Cornelius' conversion was in a different order. He was born again and lived a holy (repentant) life before Peter preached to him. They were filled with the Spirit and then baptized.

Over 3000 were either saved or converted to the New Covenant that day.

Ya, AC replaced DC because it was a better way to transfer the power and you must covert the source to get the other to be efficient.

But which one is the better way since both live/exist under the same set of laws.

No offence, but this is really far out, man.

Oh is that what I see in your posts Dave, chicanery even if you use scripture to prove your pov which is not actually scriptural but you believe that it is so.

PS Dave has taught me a new word today. One that I will put in my words that can be used in my "Put Down" file.

It's pretty dated but works.

Yes I know that I am "smoking" Hot without the need to inhale the smoke. The mirrors are a little more difficult, but you seem to manage that trickery okay.

Are you upset?
It would seem not as much as you are, otherwise you would not be carrying on as you do. I wonder if the "Carry On" film franchise could use this as a plot for a new film.

Any way since you bring nothing newer to the table this conversation is a lost cause.

Of course; I was merely going by the text that was at hand.

btw, when Cornelius and friends were converted, it was a special circumstance because God had to go to some drastic measures in order for the circumcision group to accept Gentiles into the body of Christ...God proved that Gentiles could be Christians by giving them the Holy Ghost before they were baptized...which was not the normal order of things, but a necessary work so that the circumcision would not be able to deny the inclusion of Gentiles into the church.

Normally, things go in the order that I told you:

1) preaching 2) repentance 3) belief 4) baptism in Jesus' name 5) remission of sins 6) the gift of the Holy Ghost 7) living a holy life.

But in Cornelius' instance it was 1) repentance 2) living a holy life 3) preaching 4) belief 5) the gift of the Holy Ghost 6) baptism in Jesus' name 7) remission of sins.

This just blows my mind because some things that go after are things that I would think to be causal to some of the things that go before.

It just goes to show that we can't put God in a box!

But, again, I would say, that the case with Cornelius and friends was a special circumstance that had to do with God's taking special measures to ensure that Gentiles would be included in light of the opposition of those in the circumcision group.

Nearly all those type of things are staged. Someone knew you went to the dentist and set that all up. It's the copycat Peter Popoff syndrome.
I agree there are many staged healings and such but in my case I told no one I was going and I was rather stunned to arrive and find a little white shack...everyone in the congregation were African Americans and I knew no one there and they did not know me. I was actually living in Tonkawa attending college at that time....Pawnee is my home time where I grew up. I was just being obedient to the Holy Spirit when he told me to go that day I heard the announcement on the radio. Oklahoma City was a 2 hour drive for me so it was hardly likely that anyone knew me.

In 1984 I was attending college in Tonkawa, Oklahoma....Northern Oklahoma College. On one particular day after class I was driving home and was listening to a Christian radio station. An advertisement came on announcing and upcoming event of a prophet-evangelist coming to a church in Oklahoma City as a guest and who would be ministering to those who attended. The Holy Spirit spoke to me and said pull over and write down the information...time, date and address.

When I got home I went into my bedroom and prayed and asked if I was supposed to attend this service and the Holy Spirit said YES.

The day of the service I dressed and drove to Oklahoma City...(it was a 2 hour drive). When I got there (no GPS at that time) I had to stop and ask for directions 4 times. Now in my mind I am expecting a huge beautiful church....when I finally found the church it was a little white building not much bigger than a house. I was the only car in the parking lot....I saw a light was on so I went inside and there was a little ole black lady in the pews. So I sat down and looked at my watch. It said 7:30....I waited, and waited, and finally I went over to that lady and asked her about the service and if it was suppose to start at 7:30.....she said "honey it is fixin' to fill up...they be showin up..anytimes now...don't you fret." and then she smiled....well sure enough the church filled up and by 8p.m. it was full.....They were all black people....I was talking to God in my mind and asking "Lord is this a test to see if I am prejudice? You know my heart better than I do so I don't understand."

Well the song and worship leader led the singing....then the pastor began preaching.....no sign of the special guest speaker....I cannot even tell you what the pastor's sermon was about because by 9 p.m. I was upset and crying that I came all this way for nothing. (Feeling sorry for myself because I had a test to study for and I should have stayed home)…..
The pastor finally closed his sermon and introduced the guest speaker....this man stood before the congregation upon the stage and just began pointing to people and they would stand up and he would speak a prophetic word to them....and this went on for awhile...I was really in awe that he could know all this about these people...I had never heard a prophet speak.

Then he stopped....I looked at my watch it was 10 p.m. and I thought he was getting ready to dismiss....….but then......he spoke.....he said..."there is a lady here, her name is Patty, she is from Pawnee, Oklahoma, her dentist name is Dr. Keith Smith and she just had a filling repaired a few days ago and it cost her 35 dollars...and if she is here the Lord has a word for her".
I was in shock...I even looked around to see who there knew me....then I raised my hand and said that is me.
He said come up here....(he didn't make anyone else walk up to the front)...so I walked up to the front. Then he looked me directly in the eye and said...."the next several years of your life will be like one behind an old plow shear plowing a field....this is symbolic of the trials and tribulations you will suffer but if you remain faithful to the Lord in the end you will receive your harvest."
This really didn't mean much to me at the time but as the years came and went I would remember this word every time I suffered a major trial or tribulation.

Now I need to also say that a month or so after this...another advertisement about another prophet in OKC...same thing...the Holy Spirit said go...I went ….he prophesied the same prophesy as the 1st one.

So for those who say there are NO PROPHETS today....PLEASE EXPLAIN THIS.

So that you may know, I can feel the Words of the Prophet. For that I am sure. In other words Holy Spirit conformation." For He who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is not worthy of me." Despite the hardships, and there have been many, you have remained faithful. Happy New Year!
