And if it is mans will that God dont speak to them, He wont as He will no go against our will..If that is not bad enough, as God speaks not to them, so they assume God does not speak to anyone else as well.

Yes men have placed God in to too many boxes, He needs to be let out but so few are willing to do that.I do understand that we cannot "hear" or "see" scripture without the guidance of the Holy Spirit. But what of certain choices on this earth, that we do not know which way to choose? Like, what is your will in this Father? How should I respond to this or that and a million other things.
I have myself been guilty of the "I didn't experience it, so it ain't true phase" I now see that we cannot put our Great God in a box and limit Him. The Holy Spirit's work will NEVER contradict Gods Word, and He is ever working FOR us. So, I suppose it will be "...be it done unto you according to your faith" ♥
Pray for wisdom in faith as James says. Then know this. “For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.” (Philippians 2:13) (KJV 1900) And in faith, know that your decision was of the Lord. Also; check your motive. God moves us through love. When love determines our thoughts and actions, we know our choice of direction is the right choice. Also God opens doors and closes doors. The apostles also cast lots (flip a coin) knowing God controls all things. “The lot is cast into the lap; But the whole disposing thereof is of the Lord.” (Proverbs 16:33) (KJV 1900)I do understand that we cannot "hear" or "see" scripture without the guidance of the Holy Spirit. We know God speaks through scripture. Are you chasing after a false god when chasing imaginary voices?Oh so does that mean you are not His sheep
Joh_10:26 But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.
Joh_10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
no, God speaks He has a voice, men are just afraid to hear...
what was said, I shall have no other Gods before me" than came the bible. Dont need you God we have our God book and we demand you agree with it, because we, "men", raised it above you even Christ it is our God.
He can do that, but He would rather men listen, He cant help it they wont.We know God speaks through scripture. Are you chasing after a false god when chasing imaginary voices?
But there are no prophets today other than false prophets. Why did the Apostles cast lots to choose Matthias as Judas' replacement? If God speaks as freely as you and others think? He can do that, but He would rather men listen, He cant help it they wont.
And so like so many religious men keep Gods children from Him.
And the circle of lies goes round and round.
Great way of putting it Nancy x

Thanks for sharing this. I think when we do unto others as we would have them do unto us, it sorts through lots of confusion. What would you want if you were the "Gramma" in this situation? I would want to be the least burden to others as possible. And I would thank God that professional care is available far beyond the capabilities of one or two loved ones trying to cope with the situation." When love determines our thoughts and actions, we know our choice of direction is the right choice." (bold is mine)
Not always. What if the love and concern for somebody who needs your help, is detrimental to the health and welfare of yourself? Or even other loved ones? When do we know it is time to put Gramma or a friend into a nursing home? Before or after the incontinence ruins floors and furniture? Is them not bathing a good enough reason?
Of course, that is just one example. And, I do agree that He DOES open and close doors. My "hearing" God is in the rest I get from prayer and faith. Not to mention the short bursts from Him I do NOT hear audibly but, in my spirit like when one of my sisters is making me crazy on the phone, lol...I hear..."just love her" or, "fruits"! I know nothing He "say's" to us would contradict the bible and, yes-it is all in there yet...He works in mysterious ways! lol.
God speaks only through scripture. He opens our understanding of the scriptures. If this is what you meant, I agree with it.

I love stories like that.A number of years back a friend of our was out on his bike.
He 'felt' the Lord nudge him and say.." Go and buy a pint of milk and take it to the green house at the very end of the street on the right."
It sounded crazy, but because he cherished the voice of the Lord , he did it anyway. He felt foolish when he knocked on the door.
A harassed woman answered the door , and burst into tears when our friend said " God said you need this"
She had two small sick children that she could not leave, and a tiny baby who needed milk. Needless to say he told her about the Jesus and led her to the Lord right there in the kitchen.
It pay to have our ear fine tuned to the Voice of God.
James Dobson I believe thought that the "impression" that he had was from the dark side. A verse came to me:With all due respect to James Dobson he needs to be baptized in the Holy Spirit... As do many denominational men and women. Fleshly emotional impressions are far from a word of knowlege from the Holy Spirit.
Greetings,I've been searching on Amazon for a book to help my adult children hear from God. I've experienced uncanny times when I've woken up in the middle of the night and knew God wanted me to pray, and another time bumped into a Christian neighbor who recommended a book that was exactly what I needed. But other times I feel I'm looking to God and get no clear leading when I have an important decision to make.
Can others share how they hear from God? Do you fast? Keep a prayer journal? Meditate? I usually like the old-time writers because they seemed to have a better grasp of Scripture but I haven't found one yet about hearing from God. I was reading some of the comments below some current books on hearing from God on Amazon and was concerned because some people remarked about the unscriptural practices recommended in the books even written by pastors. Has anyone here read any good books on discernment and how to hear from God that are Scriptural? I think we're living in an unprecedented era of evil and even many churches have turned worldly. It's hard finding quality teaching that holds fast to Scripture but God does give some people the gift of teaching. It's just really hard to sort through all the books to find those that are scripturally accurate.
Yes, the Holy Spirit gives light and understanding of God's Word; and never goes against it.I do understand that we cannot "hear" or "see" scripture without the guidance of the Holy Spirit. But what of certain choices on this earth, that we do not know which way to choose? Like, what is your will in this Father? How should I respond to this or that and a million other things.

Interesting way of putting it, yes; the work of the Spirit in understanding Scripture is indeed vital.Great way of putting it Nancy x
I would be doubtful of anyone telling me that God had told him or her that I should marry someone in particular...Not sure that ' having an impression ' is the same as ' knowing ' both of the examples you gave are not knowing, do you not think that if God wanted this girl to marry the man then the girl herself would have equally heard from God.
The discussion is more about whether it is believed that God can speak to people independent of scripture - or whether he just speaks through scripture. I say God does both.
If you have ever read books from chines Christians, brother yen is an example - they have so much testimony about being ' led ' by the spirit , in the same way Paul was.
