I can't seem to find it or get over him dying. What bothers me the most is knowing that he died alone on his death bed. My mother told me to go home because there was nothing more I could do. I did just that-she slept in her bed that night and that morning he passed-he laid there and suffered by himself. I feel like a horrible person for not being there for him and can't seem to forgive myself for it. At that moment in time did he know he was left alone and by himself those hours or was he even aware of his surroundings? Maybe these are questions for someone who has had a near death experiances but I don't know anyone.

He claimed to saved but he did not live the life he should have.
Brother I wish I could comfort you. However, if he wasn't a Christian, all I can say is that he doesn't want you where he is.If he was a Christian (which I sure hope so). Then it really comes down to this:Brad Paisley -- When I get where I'm goinghttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J6Zfx5qra_gIf your dad is in heaven, the grief is in your head. He sure isn't sad, only you are (know what I mean?)Someday my early father will pass away. I will be sad, yes, but I KNOW I will see him again, shortly.

Did your father know Jesus? If he did, then don't worry about it, because he most certainly did not die alone. If your father didn't know Jesus... then don't worry, because then the best you can do is what we should always do, trust in God's sovereignty over all life--particularly the life He created in His image (humans).See? Either way you shouldn't worry about it. Know also that you are not alone. You are not the first and you are not the least person to lose their father (some under much "worse" cicumstances). God is still on the throne.

well neither do any of us when you think of it.Thank God works don't earn you salvation, as long as he believed in Christ and tried to live his life, he is saved.god is a merciful God.He will not let his sheep go.

Hi Charlie's Angel. I am sorry about your dad. Maybe I am reading your statement wrong;however, it seems you are wrestling more with your guilt then anything else right now. Having had some guilt of my own in a different situation that involves death I can offer you some advice. Ask God to help you with your feelings. You cannot deal with them alone, they are to strong and confusing. Ask Him for peace and comfort. He can provide it. Then, remember that this is a prime time for satan to put a divider between you and God. There is no time table for when God's work will truly enter your heart. Don't give up asking. It will happen.
