SOLA SCRIPTURAWe reaffirm the inerrant Scripture to be the sole source of written divine revelation, which alone can bind the conscience. The Bible alone teaches all that is necessary for our salvation from sin and is the standard by which all Christian behavior must be measured. We deny that any creed, council or individual may bind a Christian's conscience, that the Holy Spirit speaks independently of or contrary to what is set forth in the Bible, or that personal spiritual experience can ever be a vehicle of revelation.SOLUS CHRISTUSWe reaffirm that our salvation is accomplished by the mediatorial work of the historical Christ alone. His sinless life and substitutionary atonement alone are sufficient for our justification and reconciliation to the Father. We deny that the gospel is preached if Christ's substitutionary work is not declared and faith in Christ and his work is not solicited.SOLA GRATIAWe reaffirm that in salvation we are rescued from God's wrath by his grace alone. It is the supernatural work of the Holy Spirit that brings us to Christ by releasing us from our bondage to sin and raising us from spiritual death to spiritual life.We deny that salvation is in any sense a human work. Human methods, techniques or strategies by themselves cannot accomplish this transformation. Faith is not produced by our unregenerated human nature.SOLA FIDEWe reaffirm that justification is by grace alone through faith alone because of Christ alone. In justification Christ's righteousness is imputed to us as the only possible satisfaction of God's perfect justice. We deny that justification rests on any merit to be found in us, or upon the grounds of an infusion of Christ's righteousness in us, or that an institution claiming to be a church that denies or condemns sola fide can be recognized as a legitimate churchSOLI DEO GLORIAWe reaffirm that because salvation is of God and has been accomplished by God, it is for God's glory and that we must glorify him always. We must live our entire lives before the face of God, under the authority of God and for his glory alone. We deny that we can properly glorify God if our worship is confused with entertainment, if we neglect either Law or Gospel in our preaching, or if self-improvement, self-esteem or self-fulfillment are allowed to become alternatives to the gospel

JennGod cares nothing about what religion you are God cares only that you live by his Word and by his Laws Religion is made by men for men if you like your religion if you learn from it God has no objections to it but as you can learn from reading of the five churches in Revelation most had good things and bad things about them as it is today only one had it right and there is a lesson in this that I will write about at sometime but it is another subject for another day but it wasn't it has nothing to do with it being a right religion you might want to read the thread on what is the right religion http://www.christianityboard.com/right-rel...t768.html?t=768hope this was helpful

I am of the Baptist faith. I have evey right to express my beliefs here. I already know my religion isn't wrong and I will not begin to discuss which religions are. That is not the point of this thread. The point is I was just trying to see if anyone else shared the same beliefs.

JenI did not see your post earlier or I would have replied soonerI was not intending to say anything negative about your choice of religionI was simply trying to make a point that God doesn't care on judgement day what religion you called yourself there are good Christians in all religions.God cares whats in your heart. If you have found a church that feeds you and that brings you closer to God and provides fellowship by all means you shouldattended it and Cherish it.My comments were directed to your statement" that only baptists have it right"I can't go along with this statement many others can also have it right, also That doesn't mean Baptist have it wrong. I apologize if you think I was criticizing your religion it was not my intention.

To futher clarify my point I am saying God does not give blanket free passes. On judgement day God is not going to say if you belong to religion A go on ahead and if you belong religion B,C,or D get in line for judgement. Each of us is judged on our own.Belonging to any religion is a matter of personal choice and you should go where you feel you are being spiritualy fed.

Well what was Jesus...hhmmm I believe He said He is The Son of The Most High God. And He did only what He saw The Father do. Are you doing what The Spirit of God is saying to your heart? Or only what men confirm.. Are we still esteeming our understandings, and constraining what The Spirit of The Lord is saying?Paul said to live is to walk and talk as The Spirit directed him. Not what any man proclaimed is true, but what the Spirit of The Lord says. So who is right..? men or The Holy Spirit who still is active and alive, teaching the children of God. Are we hearing, or are we only reading with blank prayers, believeing that God does not move in us today as He did in the time of Paul and Peter....? I believe Christ is wanting to direct us daily, throgh His Spirit and His Word....:bible:

Baptists are the only ones that have it right? The thief on the cross, the one that Christ said, that this day he would be with him in paradise, was he a Baptist? What about the poor sinner that could only beat his breast, not daring to look up while the other guy, versed in the law, was thankful he wasn't like that horrible sinner. The sinner, Christ said, was the one that went away justified; was he, that horrible sinner, a Baptist? Were the apostles and New Testament believers Baptists?

" Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. For it has been declared to me concerning you, my brethren, by those of Chloe's household, that there are contentions among you.Now I say this, that each of you says, " I am of Paul." or " I am of Apollos." or" I am of Cephas," or " I am of Christ". Is Christ divided?" Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul ?1 Corinthians 1:10-13

ROS777 you're having the same problem kriss did. Don't jump to conclusions about people without knowing what they are saying. I'm not saying anyone is right or wrong. We will not know that until the judgement day. I was simply saying that I believe in the solas and was asking if there were others who believe them as well. So far I only know of baptists believing in them and was just asking if there were others. If I wanted to debate over who is right or wrong I would be posting in the "What's the right religion" thread.

Sorry, if I misunderstood. The wording is difficult but I believe that, I think. Did a lawyer write that? Why does the wording have to be so hard to understand? As Apostle Paul says, I preach Christ crucified and risen.I believe the Apostles Creed and the word; "catholic" in the Apostles' Creed mean one Holy church, not a specfic church group.I do know a Baptist, fine person, but his Church teaches the Rapture. And I do not believe in the Rapture, that is, we leaving before the antichrist shows up.

Let me just say I will never agree with what the catholics preach. In my view, the catholics are as bad as the muslims. I don't believe in the "One Holy church" (the RCC came up with that idea), and whether the rapture is true or not, is not for me to decide. All that matters is that the saved are going to heaven and the others aren't. I don't think it matters whether we go first or if we have to wait. Also, there is nothing hard to understand about the solas. Your heart and mind probably just aren't in the right place. Just like with the Bible, God's guidance is what helps you to understand it.

The Apostles Creed is not just for Catholics, many other Christians use the Apostles Creed. It's easy to understand, even a child could understand it.The holy Apostolic catholic church doesn't mean the Roman Catholic church it means the true church of Jesus Christ. ( said in the Apostles Creed)No offense to your creed.I don't want to get into a debate about Catholics or Baptists, but whether one believes or disbelieves the rapture is very important.

Im not sure if you mean religion or denomination.. If you mean religion then youre right, Christians are the ones who get into heaven, but if you mean denominations then no, anyone who accepts Christ as the true Lord of their life will inherit eternal life. We as Christians cannot become too caught up in name calling or religions, or else we are in danger of the same mindset as the pharisees and we all see how much Jesus liked them.
