What is the process of salvation? 1.Is it a singular act of instant salvation upon accepting Yeshua as Lord and Savior? Rom 10: 8-10 2.Is it a progressive work of salvation that continues after accepting Yeshua as Lord and Savior?Phil 2: 12, 133.Is is both an instant act and progressive work after accepting Yeshua as Lord and Savior? I believe it to be number three. It is both instant and progressive. Instant because the the spirit of a man gets instantly regenerated and imbedded with the Holy Spirit. The person gets sealed by the Spirit for day of redemption.Progressive in that the soul of a man (carnal) has to methodically conquered and continued to be drugged into the Kingdom of God. The saint is now perfected towards love, union with his spirit, and made ready for the eternal kingdom. Thanks for the input in advance.....

"accepting Yeshua as Lord and Savior" is an undefined slogan that man has replaced the true gospel with. You are not saved until you receive the Spirit (Titus 3:5)Just because you believe does not mean you have received the Spirit (Acts 8:12-16, 19:2)The apostles NEVER told people "accept Yeshua as Lord and Savior"and you are saved !They told people professing belief to repent, be baptised and receive the Spirit and it wasn't until they spoke in tongues that they wewre judged to have just received the Spirit (Acts 2:4, 33-39; 10:44-48, 19:5-6).Romans 10:8-10 is at the end of a letter written to the church at Rome, it is NOT telling them how to get saved!!It is telling them how to make their calling and electiuon sure.Only spirit filled people can truly confess Jesus and believe in him because only they have the mind and faith and heart that comes with receiving the Spirit.I keep meeting religious people who say they believe in Jesus but who cannot confess him because they change his way of salvation, as Paul warned, they preach amnother Jesus.

Tallman, do you not understand that when we believe, we are sealed by His Spirit? They go hand in hand. I've been reading your posts (not just in this thread) and it appears as though you are trying to say that until a person is speaking in tongues (for example) they cannot be saved. This is wrong, and nothing more than a variable form of a works scented (or works based) Gospel, which really is no Gospel at all. 1 Corinthians 12:30We are saved by grace, through faith. Not of works, lest any man boast. This includes works of the Spirit within us. God manifests Himself however He sees fit in each of our lives, and not all speak in tongues. We are saved once we, simply, believe. You make it seem as though receiving the Spirit of God, in the way you describe, is a work that one must acheive in order to be saved. Nobody must speak in tongues to be saved, and I'm warning you... stop telling this to people. It is greviously wrong. But, don't just take my word for it... let me tell you a story... according to this scripture:
Romans 8:15-17: For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.
When I beleived on Christ for my salvation, I did not know this scripture. I had never heard it in any way whatsoever. Furthermore, before I believed I certainly never referred to God as Father, and neither was I around people who were constantly referring to God as "Father".However, once I believed... I realized that I was constantly calling God, "Father" whenever I would call out to Him, and speak with Him. "Father" this... "Father" that. "Father" show me, "Father" help me. I was wondering about this, and found it curious. I enjoyed it, as I was simply doing as I felt my spirit was inclined to do... and so I called out "Father" like it was instinct. I told my youth pastor of the time this, that, "I am noticing that I always call God Father. I do it all the time, without even thinking." I was wondering, should I pray to God? Jesus? What is the "right way" to pray? Because I was just doing what came natural, and I was saying "Father" ALL the time.Eventually the Lord brought me to the scripture above from Romans 15 where we are told we are given a Spirit that cries out "Abba, Father." I found this very encouraging, because I knew that my inclination to cry out "Father" was not taught to me by men... but truly, it was the Spirit of God inside me, and God's Word bearing witness that I was an adopted child of God. I have never spoken in tongues, but God's Spirit has beared witness in me, that I am His child, and I have cried, "Abba, Father." I have no fear.I think that you are frustrating the Gospel of grace. There are no miraculous signs that are required for salvation. Only this one miraculous sign... that we believe on the one Whom God sent--Jesus Christ, God's Son. We are given His Spirit and sealed by His Spirit when we believe.

What is the process of salvation? 1.Is it a singular act of instant salvation upon accepting Yeshua as Lord and Savior? Rom 10: 8-10
That passage doesn't say it "is a singular act of instant salvation upon accepting Yeshua as Lord and Savior." It only says that the one who makes Him their Lord "WILL" be saved, after they have been made righteous, which is by the regeneration of His Spirit. The first step is to hear the message and be converted, but that isn't salvation, it is only the beginning of the process. There is still a "narrow way" to follow which few converts ever find, while the many who call Him Lord never do (Matthew 7). Obviously they had been converted, but never born of Him.
2.Is it a progressive work of salvation that continues after accepting Yeshua as Lord and Savior?Phil 2: 12, 13
Yes:Titus 3:5-7 He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by His grace we would be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. Romans 6:22 But now having been freed from sin and enslaved to God, you derive your benefit, resulting in sanctification, and the outcome, eternal life. Hebrews 10:14-17 For by one offering He has perfected for all time those who are sanctified. And the Holy Spirit also testifies to us; for after saying, "THIS IS THE COVENANT THAT I WILL MAKE WITH THEM AFTER THOSE DAYS, SAYS THE LORD: I WILL PUT MY LAWS UPON THEIR HEART, AND ON THEIR MIND I WILL WRITE THEM," He then says, "AND THEIR SINS AND THEIR LAWLESS DEEDS I WILL REMEMBER NO MORE."Romans 2:29 But he is a Jew who is one inwardly; and circumcision is that which is of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the letter; and his praise is not from men, but from God. Romans 8:13-17 for if you are living according to the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you are putting to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, "Abba! Father!" The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him. 1 John 5:2-3 By this WE KNOW that we love the children of God, when we love God and observe His commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments; and His commandments are not burdensome.1 John 2:3-6 By this WE KNOW that we have come to know Him, if we keep His commandments. The one who says, "I have come to know Him," and does not keep His commandments, IS A LIAR, and the truth is not in him; but whoever keeps His word, in him the love of God has truly been perfected. By this we know that we are in Him: the one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked.1 John 5:18 We know that NO ONE who is born of God sins; but He who was born of God keeps him, and the evil one does not touch him.1 John 3:7-10 Little children, MAKE SURE NO ONE DECEIVES YOU; the one who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous; the one who practices sin is of the devil; for the devil has sinned from the beginning. The Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil. No one who is born of God practices sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. BY THIS the children of God and the children of the devil are obvious: anyone who does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor the one who does not love his brother.Ephesians 5:5-8 For this you know with certainty, that no immoral or impure person or covetous man, who is an idolater, has an inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. LET NO ONE DECEIVE YOU with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. Therefore do not be partakers with them; for you were formerly darkness, but now you are Light in the Lord; walk as children of Light 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? DO NOT BE DECEIVED; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God. Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God.James 2:17-20 Even so faith, if it has no works, is dead, being by itself. But someone may well say, "You have faith and I have works; show me your faith without the works, and I will show you my faith by my works." You believe that God is one. You do well; THE DEMONS ALSO BELIEVE, AND SHUDDER. BUT ARE YOU WILLING TO RECOGNIZE, YOU FOOLISH FELLOW, THAT FAITH WITHOUT WORKS IS USELESS?
3.Is is both an instant act and progressive work after accepting Yeshua as Lord and Savior?
Instantly one may be converted, but they are not saved until their wicked heart has been circumcized by God's Spirit. This process takes time for most of us, and unless it is completed, the person is not a child of God.
I believe it to be number three. It is both instant and progressive. Instant because the the spirit of a man gets instantly regenerated and imbedded with the Holy Spirit.
That is a commonly taught doctrine, but is not found anywhere in scripture. Sanctification is a process performed by God's Spirit, when we make Him our Lord and walk with His Spirit, but it is not completed according to scripture until one practices righteousness and stops practicing sin. If this happens to someone instantly great, but for most of us, His Spirit purging us of wickedness takes time. Many ignore the countless warning above and claim salvation before their fruits indicate they have it, and thus never finish the process.SealedEternal

Tallman, do you not understand that when we believe, we are sealed by His Spirit?
Scripture please? When did the disciples get sealed by the Holy Spirit? How do you know you are believing? Please answer these questions, they are vital!(treeoflife;51734)
until a person is speaking in tongues (for example) they cannot be saved. This is wrong, and nothing more than a variable form of a works scented (or works based) Gospel, which really is no Gospel at all. 1 Corinthians 12:30
That scripture doesn't mention the works gospel, but those that do refer to people who were trying to keep the law for righteousness.Tongues is not a work any man can do!It is a work (if you can call it that, a miracle really) of the Holy Spirit. Jesus says it follows believers of the true gospel (Mark 18:17), and sure enough it does (see Acts and the witness of many today).1 Cor. 12:30 is at the end of 2 chapters about what God wants to happen in meetings. It os not about what people do or don't get at salvation!(treeoflife;51734)
and not all speak in tongues.
Please name one Christian in the bible who didn't speak in tongues and I will agree with you.(treeoflife;51734)
But, don't just take my word for it... let me tell you a story... according to this scripture: Romans 8:15-17: For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:
The scripture does not say we call God Father with our spirit and that is the Holy Spirit's witness! If you meet a religious person who calls God "Father" does that prove they have the Spitrit? Is that the Spirit's witness?"Abba" is a special term reserved only for one's true Father. Since God is a Spirit a true witness would be a spiritual cry, sure enough the Spirit bare witness when all the disciples (Jew and Gentile) received Him - speaking in tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.See also:-Gal:4:6: And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. The Jews claimed Abraham as their Father but didn't do his works:-John:8:39: They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham.Similarly many claim God as their father but don't have his works (miracles) following.

If I have this correct, you are saying the process of salvation is accomplished by man. Does that mean man must save himself?I always thought the process of glorification was carried out by God when a person believes in the work of His Son, Jesus, on the cross.Sounds to me that all you are doing is advancing a works gospel. One thing for sure, if you are not a child of God, right now, then you have no right to call Him your father.Richard

God accomplishes salvation in us, when we make Him our Lord and walk by His Spirit, until He leads us through the process of sanctification. We cannot save ourselves without Him, yet He will not save us unless we willingly participate, and have the endurance to have our wicked hearts regenerated, and allow Him to write His Law upon them. And how, in your opinion, do we participate? Is it by works? My purpose in asking this is for you to take your statement and make it more transparent for me. As it is, it seems rather vague in description..Richard

Our "works" are the fruit of salvation but not the cause of it. We participate by making Christ our Lord through His Word, and walking by His Spirit, so that He can do His Work in us, which is to sanctify us and lead us through the second birth into His family.SealedEternal

Well once one believes in Christ and repents by turning from sin to Christ our only Hope for salvation He is indeed born again. It is Christ in us that is the hope of Glory and not us in Christ..

Number 3Salvation does not come to a halt once we've accepted the Lord, it is with us, continues daily with us and will go to rest with us when we die. Just as the Lord is with us forever, so is our salvation and it's process. The reward is waiting for us in the form of a crown...blessings
