Did I miss anything?
Proverbs 1:7
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
Fear as in reverence, you can take it back to the Hebrew for that. Either way, the meaning comes to the same thing. It's expanded on in the New Testament.Matthew 10:28
And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
That's where the understanding not to get into hell starts. Yes what you posted above is undoubtedly a part of the whole!Proverbs 22:4
By humility and the fear of the LORD are riches, and honour, and life.
Hosea 6:6
For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.
I hope you've seen the trail I tried to create there. Proverbs is a book of wisdom, and it all starts with fearing (reverencing) our Father. That means following, correctly as you stated, his Word - laws and all. However, that also means understanding the ultimate aim is not to perfectly follow the laws - for all fall short - but that we above all love our Abba (Father) YHVH. It's not a love that only says pretty things, as Elias demonstrated. It's a love full of doing because God wants can-do people. What did all of the great Apostles, Prophets, and even Christ himself have in common? They did things in the name of the Father, following his word best they could (and in Christ's instance, perfectly).
