I wasn't putting you down or writing you off. Its a put down to say someone is young...?
Hi stunnedbygrace,
What you were doing was not responding to my post.
Speculating perhaps I was too young to have a real conversation with.
Is that a put down? I don't know. Perhaps I'm too young to understand.
And how you get, from what I've said, that I am disputing truth, I will never know. Where have I disputed truth? You will have to point out to me what I said that is untrue because I'm not aware of it.
Not you, I was referring to the OP.
Can we have an objective understanding of Scripture, one which can be reached by others? A specific and particular meaning intended by the Author.
I attempted to engage you in an example, coaxing you to join in much the same as you coaxed me.
Not that it matters, but I'm in my late 50's, I've been a Christian for 38 years. And I dead serious about it. But again, not that it matters.
You said answering was tricky. I selected my own meaning for "tricky" and imposed it on what you said. But was that what you meant? No.
Just because I plug a different meaning to your words, that does not change what you intended your words to express. I think it's that way when people read the Bible.
Sometimes people interject their own mistaken understanding, I'm sure that happens to all of us. But that does not change that God had something specific in mind when He wrote His Book.
Much love!
Mark
