For me the scripture is clear...in the OT ..John the Baptist being the end of the Old...God spoke via prophets...

"God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,Hath in these last days spoken unto us by His Son, whom He hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also He made the worlds

We are in a speaking and hearing relationship with Father.
Yes speaking and hearing...
You cannot have faith apart from the Word of God. False prophets damage your faith giving you empty hope. Nothing solid to stand on.
And true prophets expose false prophets.

all videos, teachings, television broadcasts, books and whatever that speak on end-time prophesy are based on the authors spiritual insight ...

1 Cor. 14:29 29 Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge.

In the mid 70's Indonesian "missionary" Mel Tari published a book titled "Like A Mighty Wind" where he asserted that due to seasonal floods he "walked on water" to cross a river. He stands as an accused fraud, hoaxter, and financial opportunist. Now not all authors are dishonest, some are simply WRONG. And it's incumbent upon the church to "try the spirits", whether by Scripture or History to see if they are true.

We shouldn't be so gullible to believe something just because it's in a "book"! :)

I am not being gullible...I am simply seeking to study further on my own as to the validity of this teaching.
I seek to know the hidden wisdom of God and to understand the Mysteries of God and to learn what God has kept hidden until the appointed time.
And when a new teaching comes across my path I search it out.

If you believe scripture, you also won't believe in prophets today.
This is a False doctrine driven by "denominations" (some are cults) which deny the operations of the Holy Spirit:

1 Timothy 3:5 holding the form of religion but denying the power of it. Avoid such people. 6 For among them are those who make their way into households and capture weak women, burdened with sins and swayed by various impulses, 7 who will listen to anybody and can never arrive at a knowledge of the truth.

Scripture specifically DEMANDS the full ministry of the church:

Ephesians 4:11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

So using the False doctrine "standard" these individuals are "teaching" in this Forum, and because apparently this verse is for "times past", then they are VIOLATING SCRIPTURE by their "teaching".

They can't have it both ways! That would be called "hypocrisy", and Jesus didn't condone hypocrisy:

Matt. 23
13 “But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! ...
15 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! ...
16 “Woe to you, blind guides, ...
23 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites!...
25 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! ...
27 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! ...
29 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites!...

Or so Scripture would appear to present,

Challenge any Dispensationalist to provide direct quotes from scripture for any of their prophetic claims. They cannot do it.
I am not interested in challenging anyone's faith here. God is the author and finisher of our faith and it is the Spirit of Truth whom Jesus sent who teaches us and guides us into all truth.

If you love Jesus you love the truth. But God sends false prophets to test us and to see who knows his voice. This is why I always make those who think they teach bible prophecy to provide exact quotes to prove themselves.

This moaning and sentiment has nothing to do with the truth of today's "prophecies". Make them quote exact scripture references to prove their claims.

All modern day prophies must line up with the Word of God.

Yep, and when they do, you make up false circumstances to avoid the TRUTH of Scripture. -- You're pretty "funny".

Here's the problem. They do not. They use plenty of scripture to deceive you, but none of their prophecies originate in scripture. If they did, they would have direct quotes saying so. Here's a true bible prophecy sample with direct quotes.

“But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.” (2 Peter 3:10–13) (KJV 1900)

Here is a false prophecy with no direct quotes supporting it. There will be a restored Roman Empire. Here's another. There will be a 7 year tribulation. Or, there will be a secret rapture before the 7 year tribulation. None of these and others have direct scripture quotes saying these things.

Dispensationalist have not produced any direct quotes from scripture to back their claims yet, going on years.

Prophets use "direct quotes"? Really? Then why have a "Prophet" when you could use a "Teacher", or "Pastor", or "Evangelist", or simply a four year old who can read?

You have no clue what the role of a Prophet is in the church, because you deny the Power of GOD's Holy Spirit. And when you deny the Power of the Holy Spirit, you deny GOD, because THEY WORK TOGETHER.

But to your credit, you DO have plenty of "religion"! :)

Congratulations you have identified a false teaching.....those who preach and teach use scripture out of context....but these teachings originated centuries ago and became popular in the protestant churches.

And do you have a scripture that says this?
You are aware that scripture says that in the last days God will pour out His Spirit...the sons and daughters shall prophesy...the young men see visions and the old men have dreams....
These are the ones that God will use to reveal his hidden wisdom, to help know the Mysteries of God, to reveal that which is hidden until the appointed time.
There isnt exact scripture for these things because God kept them hidden. But as the time comes to reveal these then the Holy Spirit will speak what the Father says to them or whoever has ears to hear

This happened as foretold.
