Hey Ricky between my being gone and your being gone haven't talked to you for awhilehope all is well with you and yours.To answer your question Water Baptism is not required. It is and outward symbol of accepting the Lord Jesus Christ as your savior and acknowledging in your heart that he alone died for all sin. You symbolically wash away your sins in the name of Christ. But as the blood of Christ has already been shed for those sins. It is now the Baptism of the heart (accepting Christ with all your heart) that is the requirement Water baptism saves no one belief upon Christ is the only way to be saved.

nothing can save a person but their trust in jesus. "for by grace are ye saved through faith and that not or yourselves; it is the gift of god=so please do not even attempt to tell me that my salvation is based on faith. " not of works, lest any man boast.

So you meant is, christian has two kind of baptism,1st. Baptist using water, if i'm not mistake like one who done by Jesus it self and John the baptist.2nd. Baptist with spirit, that is an act by accepting Jesus as a Crist and follow what he done by the time he was live.Is that correct kriss ?Best regards,Ricky WisnadriGod(Allah) Knows Best

Not exactly we are talking two different time frames here One before the death on the cross and one after.At the time Jesus was baptised he was still alive, he had not as of yet died to conquer sin After his death on the cross Sin was conquered. Therefore water baptism is only symbolic. Not required. We are saved by grace, the belief in Christ, and the repentance of sin.Think of the thief that was crucified with Jesus he was told he would see Jesus in heaven that day. Yet he was not baptised by waterbut by spirit.Water baptisim is the promise, a covenant if you will, of a persons personal acceptance of Christ as Lord and savior,and symbolic of washing away the sins of the past and accepting a new way way of repentance and forgivness in the living water of Jesus Christ therefore it is personally a very important act to most Christians.However it is not the baptism itself that saves anyone.

Amen Kriss! I have been reading this thread for a while, and it reminded me of these scriptures. They brought joy to my heart and I thought I would share them with you .

~~~John 3:3-6 (KJV)(Jesus teaches Nicodemus)3Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, Verily, I say unto thee. Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. 4Nicodemus saith unto him. How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee. Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh; that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.* I love what Jesus said to Nicodemus? ..I read the whole Chapter .~~~~John 4:7-14(KJV) (Jesus talks to a Samaritan woman) 7 There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water; Jesus saith unto her; Give me to drink. 8 For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat. 9 Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou being a Jew, askest drink of me. which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealing with the Samaritans? 10 Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God and who it is that saith unto you, Give me to drink; thou wouldest asked of him; and he would have given thee living water. 11 The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast that living water? 12 Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well and drink of himself, and his children, and his cattle? 13 Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drink of this water shall thirst again. 14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thrist; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water spinging up unto everlasting life.~~~~ :grouphug: :blessyou:
Water baptism is not essential.“Can anyone withhold water for baptizing these people, who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?”(Acts 10:47)
Acts 10:47 - Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?It doesn't hurt to be baptized by water because Yahshua did it, as long you don't put water before Yahshua.Jag
