How can we know the difference from the wheat and tares? How can we tell the difference from a real believer from a false believer?Wheat is good to eat and profitable for trade. Tares look like wheat but it is poisonous to eat and not of any good to trade. Tares pretend to be wheat. (Tares)- Lolium temulentum, typically known as darnel or cockle, is an annual plant that forms part of the Poaceae family and part of the Lolium genus. The plant stem can grow up to 1 meter tall, with inflorescence in the ears and purple grain. It grows plentifully in Syria and Israel. It usually grows in the same production zones as wheat and is considered a weed. The similarity between these two plants is so extensive that in some regions cockle is referred to as "false wheat." It bears a close resemblance to wheat until the ear appears. The ears on the real wheat are so heavy that it makes the entire plant droop downward, but the "false wheat", which ears are light, stands straight. How can we know the difference? I have studied this topic and will attempt to share what I know. Please feel free to add the revelations that God has taught you. Wheat Believers versus Tare Believers-1.Wheat can cry Abba Father because of the inner witness of the Holy Spirit and Tares cannot because they are not indwelled by the Holy SpiritGa 4:6 -Because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying, "Abba! Father!" 2.Wheat can know God in spirit and truth but Tares are under the deception of the devil.Matt 7:21-23 21 "Not everyone who says to Me, "Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22Many will say to Me in that day, "Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' 23And then I will declare to them, "I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!' 3.Wheat produces good fruit and Tares produce false fruit.Matt 7:15-17 15 "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. 16You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? 17Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 4.Wheat has the truth that sets us free, but Tares have a form of godliness but no power.2Ti 3:5 - having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! 5.Wheat is spiritual and Tares can be nothing but carnal.1Co 3:3 - for you are still carnal. For where there are envy, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal and behaving like mere men?6.Wheat where birth by the Holy Spirit and Tares were planted by the devil.Mt 13:25 - but while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat and went his way.I believe the Tares do not and cannot know that they are Tares unless God draws them to the truth of His Son. The Wheat however know that they are wheat. Jesus said let the wheat and tares grow together. This means that they are growing together in the same churches. Mt 13:30 -Let both grow together until the harvest, and at the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, "First gather together the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my barn. 7.The wheat has a purpose that is of God, but the Tares have a purpose that is of the devil. Joh 8:44 - You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it. (the Sanhedrin sat in the Seat of Moses, but a great many of them were of the devil and did the devil's business by having the Messiah killed) Outside of discernment being given to us from the Holy Spirit, I do not believe that there is a true measure of testing wheat from tares. We can attempt to do so, but we can often be wrong. Wheat can sometimes be mistaken as a tare depending on the mess of sin some saint find themselves in. Tares can sometimes be mistaken as wheat as a lot of unsaved people can do a mountain of good works. However, I believe in the times to come, the distinctions between the two will become a whole more noticeable.I believe the Tares will be one of the greatest oppressors and thorn in the side of the true saints of God in the times leading up to and in the tribulation. They serve the anti-christ and do his works under deception. Joh 16:2 -They will put you out of the synagogues; yes, the time is coming that whoever kills you will think that he offers God service. What can you add that lets you know the Wheat from the Tares?

Nice post ManichuterThe tares are the first harvested as told to us in the parable, True belivers are to wait for the true Christ. This is one of those teaching Rapture teachers twist it is important for all true believers to understand the FIRST gathered are the tares by the angels, what Angels the Fallen Angels Mat 13:30 Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn. Mat 13:36 Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house: and his disciples came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field. Mat 13:38 The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked [one]; Mat 13:40 As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.Parable study http://www.christianityboard.com/parable-t...t=parable+tares

manichunter, There is only one way to tell the difference between true followers of Christ and the false teachers. The true followers study the Bible enough to be able to do as 1Pet 3:15 says; we must be able to make a defense before anyone who asks the reason for the hope in us. This takes a lot of study. The Bible warns us tha there will be many false teachers among us, Acts 20:29,30, 2Pet 2:1-3, Col 2:8. We must learn what is right by the Bible, we must have our conscience trained to tell right from wrong, Heb 5:14. We must make sure of what is rightand hold on to what is good, 1Thes 5:21. We must know the Bible so that we do not stumble others, the very ones that Jesus died for, Phil 1:9,10, Col 1:9,10, 2Pet 3:15-18. If people are not obeying the laws of the Christ they are not Christain, no matter what they claim, Titus 1:16, Matt 7:21-23, or if they do not produce fruits of the spirit, Matt 7:15,15, 1Pet 2:21, 1John 2:4-6. Remember that Jesus said that his Kingdom is no part of this world, John 18:36,37, 15:18-20. Remember that all true Christians WILL be persecuted and looked down on and excluded, 2Tim 3:12, Matt 5:10-13, 1Cor 1:26-29. Notice that if anyone is spoken well of by all men they are false, Luke 6:26. Since Christians are living in Satan's world they are going to be persecuted, 2Cor 4:4, Rev 12:9, John 14:30, 16:11, 1John 5:19.

The parable is useful for many reasons, but I think the most important lesson is the tares are in appearance close to the wheat and that causes a conundrum that can only be resolved by the One who can read our hearts. There are many who appear to be Christian/ believers by what is professed and outwardly communicated but the intent of the heart is a place where only God can judge. Who among the disciples would have guessed Judas was who he was to become? The very one who was most likely closest to the Lord as far as his earthy ministry was concerned. He held the bag, and was privy to the plans of Yeshua as far as ministry expenditures were concerned. The heart and intent of Judas was only read by Yeshua at the appointed time when he was charged to follow through with that intent. The other disciples thought he was dispatched that night after Yeshua's last supper to prepare for the Passover feast, being just another thing that Judas would have done in the course of his duties as the comptroller. He was a tare that could only be weeded out from necessity by the Lord himself. And of course his fate was controlled by his deception. We find many tares outing themselves over and over again from time to time, but the ones hidden among the fruitful wheat are the most dangerous. I think Paul was wise when he suggested we work our our own salvation, which implies we should not try to work out another's.

True, in a way, but remember that this "tare" name Judas who was picked by Christ as one of his apostle actually repented his sins like it is said in Matthew 27:3-5. So we can't say he was a complete tare... that is God to judge.

Remorse is a long way from repentance especially it one goes to men instead of God for absolution of sin. Then Judas, His betrayer, seeing that He had been condemned, was remorseful and brought back the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,

And as I implied and never really said outright, the real lesson of the tares and wheat parable is to be cautious about disseminating a hardfast rule for just who is a true fruitful bearing member of the body or kingdom of God.

And no if Judas was literally comdemn while he picked by the Son of God as one of his apostles... Maybe God made a mistake by deciding who He picked. BTW, just in case if you don't know, he was murdered by the Pharisees, Saducees, or I should say, the Kenites, (aka sons of Cain)My bible says Judas repented...But yes, I agree that the parable of the tares and the wheat are extremely important.

We could go round and round on this for no reason since it tangents from the prime instruction of the parable. But to counter your assumption that Judas, after having fulfilled his duty as a pick of Yeshua for betrayal and in conclusion his end must have been destined for repentance - I'm sure Lucifer would love to use that as an argument if he had an advocate at his judgment.

Lucy is the only one Judged by God. No other person

Judas was not a tare. The tares were planted by Satan. I believe Judas will join as in heaven. But I will let God be the judge.

It is useful to apologize, for us and for those who listen. You quote of John is as a hammer of truth on a tested anvil.
Yes to apologize is useful and is needed for forgiveness in our Christian walk... But there is no need to apologize when one is stating truth.Sure I may sound harsh, but I can't it when the Truth is needed to be said.

We are both in danger of suggesting a thing that only the searcher of hearts can decide. The very thing the parable suggests we don't do.My point concerning Judas as it relates to the parable is that only the Lord can discern the difference between the two. Now whether or not Judas truly repented and received grace and subsequently forgiveness is not apparent in the scriptures we employ now. If only we were now privy to the book of life, we could decide this once and for all. Still I will hold to what is written so far, and what is being revealed subsequent to the earlier servants. He was the son of perdition and is a model for the pseudo christ that is to come. One of the fold, per se - on the outside, wheatlike yet not a true sheave- but a deceiver through and through when it comes to betraying Yeshua and those who follow him.Only two personas are called the son of perdition. Judas and the soon to be revealed Tyrant - aka man of sin.

Lets us stay on topic here but cosider a couple facts it was Satan that entered into Judas.. should he be held completely responsable ?? When he was himself he was greatly grieved and repented himself according to scripture let us not read to much or to little into this Christ had not yet died for our sins so all Judas could do was cover his sin until Christ died for all sin. It is not our place then to pass judgement upon Judas as he has not yet been judged no man has but Satan whom entered into him has been Judged to perdition ...to be utterly destroyed

I did not judge Judas. I said I believed he would be with us in heaven. That is not a judgment.
