@amadeus FYI...thread and poll.
Thank you, but, no! As you know from my previous posts on your thread I am against piercing of any kind, but I speak for no one else. I will not vote as none of your options fit my position! God's will is often not according to any majority in any case.

Thank-you, Sir, for your comments.

(I thought I had offered a comprehensive set of options for the poll, but maybe some possibilities escaped me...)

Thank-you anyway.

That which is appropriate is God's will for a situation. Not every person is led along precisely the same pathway by the Holy Spirit, so what is good for the goose, may not be good for the gander!

Stretched out ear lobes... Ug. I think many will regret this when they get old.

I dont wear earrings too much anymore, because they hurt my ears. Everyone seems to adore them on my daughter though. Her ears are awfully cute pierced. She can always let them grow back together in the future if she feels different.

I can't vote, because of the wording. I don't think it is appropriate for men to wear earrings, but I don't think it is inappropriate either. It ain't fitten it just ain't fitten.

And plus with all of the sex changes and gay pride...some of the old fashioned values for men and women would be good for this country.

But someone on here said rite of passage...earrings for a girl are very traditional and a good thing to pass on. For men, it is just tacky. Lol. But my hubby does wear his well. It doesn't look good on most men.

Thank-you again, Sir! Clearly different Christians will come to their own individual conclusions and preferences, and have a clear conscience about various sides of the preference.

Sorry, I thought I had offered a comprehensive set of options for the poll, but maybe some possibilities escaped me... :)

(Maybe I should add another possible answer to the poll options?)

@Laish You said this earlier re. ink:

So they didn't put in an earring at the same time? LOL (Seems that often in fact the earrings do precede the tattoos, in the order that they are acquired...)
Today it really doesn’t matter it about taste I guess . Personally I don’t like the big huge hockey puck type things . Probably in 20 years the guy with the huge holes in his ears won’t either. Especially after the hole grows to the size of manhole covers lol manhole .
I have or should say had both ears pierced about 30 years back. I was in a renaissance and medieval reenactment group . Guys running around hitting each other with swords lol ⚔️ . While quoting or reciting Shakespeare. It was (ear piercing) done to complete the look. I haven’t had a earrings in for almost 22 years.
It’s cool if ya get one or cool if not . Not a issue here . Oh and yea I was sober. LOL .
Blessings

Sounds interesting, the reenactments.

Kind of proves anyway that historically men indeed wore earrings.

While some ppl might still think that for men to pierce their ears is somewhat avant-garde, yet really from an historical point of view when men and boys do it today in order to be able to wear rings or studs in their ears, it's simply going back to a practice that was widespread, centuries back.

And for male reenactors - as you were - for the sake of historical accuracy it's virtually obligatory.

Not yet, one sec. Hmm doesn't seem to want my vote. But my feelings are, if they want to I have no problem with it. My body has a bad reaction to metals, even gold earrings, so mine are closed now. For about 30 years. Lol
Is there a bible reference that says this is wrong?

Guess I had voted.. duh o_O

Thanks for your vote! :)

The Bible mentions ear piercing/earrings, including for men, in various contexts.

Re. "my feelings are, if they want to I have no problem with it."

Those are my feelings also. If men and boys want it, they should be able to get them pierced confidently. It's a bit like tattoos, really; in the sense that, just as tattoos used to be mainly a man thing, but now so many women can get tattooed confidently, so also ear piercing, just as it used to be mainly a woman thing, but now so many men can get ear piercings confidently (if this makes sense to you?)

Thanks for your comments.
