I searched the forums, as I remember a topic on this. They say it shouldn't be more than sporatic electric outages and an aurora event. A few sites have it listed as G2.
Studying the Carrington Event, I'm praying it is just a glace. Any thoughts on this?

There is no doubt that the Lord will use a solar flare, a huge CME to literally fulfil all the graphic prophesies about His Day of fiery wrath.
This Big one will strike with a Electro-Magnetic Pulse before we have any warning; onto the Middle East at mid day. Zephaniah 2:4
Then, 24 hours later the main mass will hit every country, as the earth rotates. Joel 2:1-11 describes it very well....as the dawn spreads upon the mountains......the land burned and devastated as it passes.....

We Bible believers should know all about it and be prepared spiritually and physically for it. Isaiah 26:20-21
I have many articles about it on my website.

Interesting. Do you have any reputable new sources you can share? My son finds CME's fascinating...although, yes, like you I hope for a small event. It would be good to be able to show him an article or two on it.

C4.8 solar flare

I'm sorry, I wasn't prepared to start this thread. I thought there was already one and searched but couldn't find it.
Maybe he will enjoy this site.

A warning came across our local news, which sent me hunting. Lol can't remember ever seeing one before.

google's a great place to find information on events like this.

Is it relevent towards Jesus's return. No. We know it is goiing to happen while we cannot know when Jesus's return will be.
The one cancels out the other.

Agreed. That was not my intention.
In fact, just the opposite. There will be a catastrophic event the a/c will seem to have the answer to. I was leaning more towards that. Not that this is the event.
1989 Quebec lost power for 8hrs due to a cme event. Just think of a place like New York losing power for 8hrs or more, with no radio/tv/internet to know what was happening. Forewarned is forearmed. Candles and water are always good to have around.

Blessings

My website is; www.logostelos.info As noted at the bottom of my posts.
Here is one article, that says how very likely we are to experience a big Coronal Mass Ejection. But I show in other articles, how the prophets make it clear that is what the Lord will use on His Day of fiery wrath.

A few years ago, we were all going about our daily business, blissfully unaware that our planet almost plunged into global catastrophe.

A recent revelation by NASA explains how on July 23, 2012, Earth had a near miss with a solar flare, or coronal mass ejection (CME), from the most powerful storm on the sun in over 150 years, but nobody decided to mention it.

Err, what? Well, that’s a sobering bit of news.

“If it had hit, we would still be picking up the pieces,” says Daniel Baker of the University of Colorado.

We managed to just avoid the event through lucky timing as the sun’s aim narrowly turned away from Earth. Had it occurred a week earlier, when it was pointing at us, the result could have been frighteningly different.

“I have come away from our recent studies more convinced than ever that Earth and its inhabitants were incredibly fortunate that the 2012 explosion happened when it did,” says Baker. “If the explosion had occurred only a few days earlier, Earth would have been in the line of fire.”

The power of this ejection would have raced across space to knock us back to the Dark Ages. It’s believed a direct CME hit has the potential to wipe out communication networks, GPS and electrical grids to cause widespread blackout. The article goes on to say it would disable “everything that plugs into a wall socket. Most people wouldn’t even be able to flush their toilet because urban water supplies largely rely on electric pumps.”

Just 10 minutes without electricity, Internet or communication across the globe is a scary thought, and the effects of this event could last years. It would be chaos and disaster on an epic scale.

“According to a study by the National Academy of Sciences, the total economic impact could exceed $2 trillion or 20 times greater than the costs of a Hurricane Katrina. Big transformers damaged by such a storm would take years to repair.”

So can we breathe a worldwide sigh of relief? Well, not quite. Physicist Pete Riley, who published a paper titled “On the probability of occurrence of extreme space weather events,” has calculated the odds of a solar storm strong enough to disrupt our lives in the next 10 years is 12 percent.

“Initially, I was quite surprised that the odds were so high, but the statistics appear to be correct,” says Riley. “It is a sobering figure.”

Thank you. I don't usually click on things. Have visited your site, and find it very insightful.
While many think so much is hyperbole, I believe the prophets were quite clear. They were afeared and very troubled. It tells me we have alot coming... thank our Father he's going to send his Son too. Amen.

You know, whether it's a "CME" or nuclear weapons (falling stars), our power grid will go down, but not for another 2 1/2 years per my best understanding. And just as GOD created an escape for the European Jews from the Holocaust with the Balfour Declaration (some 60K immigrated to "Palestine", -- that's 1% --, but some 6M should have joined them), so too HE warns us of the Tribulation and tells us to "prepare" by using our "purse", our "bag", and our "sword" (Ref. Luke 22:35).

And when it happens, -- who cares. We're ready!

But the Bible doesn't talk about power grids. It says the following meteors turn the oceans red with blood and kill the life in them and sink the ships on them.

Nuclear weapons do not do that.

You're creating a false narrative by trying to piece different parts of the Bible together.

Money weapons are not going to save anyone in the tribulation.

Not to mention the church will not be there.

Where does the Bible speak of meteors?

I debated making this, but I will.

I have been out of the military intelligence system too Long to remember all the details.

To take out the entire power grid of the US a nuclear bomb has to be a atmospheric detonation of a specific altitude.

Solar flares can be very disruptive, but not as catastrophic as some on here are thinking.

Meteors have to be of a minimum size and composition striking just right to be catastrophic.

I don't see any prophecy of a strike on that level.

Right now the most massive sources Ofproblems are volcanic erruptions.

Not trying to play down the seriousness of prophecy But it needs to be clear some are overstating. As well the church will not be here to see it.

How about the earthquakes prophecy? All the islands are sunk, mountains level and cities flattened.

None of this is going to happen on that scale Until the tribulation.

Reject or not, but the last time it happened was during the war in heaven when the earth was rendered empty and void with all the pre-atomic life exterminated.

The tribulation cannot and will not be explained by science.

Falling stars are meteorites.

Prophetically could include asteroids.

There are a huge number of both in the solar system.

Controversy again, I believe they are the result of the war in heaven. I do not accept that God created. He is not the God of chaos.

Who said "meteors"? I said "falling stars", -- and what do you think ICBM carbon-graphite "Re-Entry Bodies" look like as they enter the earth's atmosphere?!?

Rev. 6:12 When he opened the sixth seal, I looked, and behold, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth, the full moon became like blood, 13 and the stars of the sky fell to the earth as the fig tree sheds its winter fruit when shaken by a gale; 14 the sky vanished like a scroll that is rolled up, and every mountain and island was removed from its place. 15 Then the kings of the earth and the great men and the generals and the rich and the strong, and every one, slave and free, hid in the caves and among the rocks of the mountains, 16 calling to the mountains and rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of him who is seated on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb; 17 for the great day of their wrath has come, and who can stand before it?”

Did you think we're really going to experience a CME, or is this closer to a depiction of Global Thermonuclear Warfare?!?

I did a quick search and found an image that is available on-line, but may not have been released to the general public:

Re-Entry Bodies.jpg

I'm not allowed to tell you which "system" these are, or where they were to "splash down", but if you'll notice the stars in the background, you'll see that the camera was only held so-steady.

Are you denying meteors are falling stars?

Whew,
Bobby Jo

Missiles have no resemblance to falling stars/meteorites.
