Again, you're arguing with yourself. You wanted to claim Luther as my Protestant 'Father'. As far as I am concerned you can call anyone you want as 'Father'. I don't care. But Luther is not my 'Father'. And those who were of the Reformation are not my Fathers.

Funny how you fancy yourself as some linguistic master, yet you ignore the meaning of the word 'catholic'.

Keep telling yourself that as I'm sure it makes you feel better.

Stranger
WRONG.

Just as the founders of this country you live in are your Founding Fathers - the Protestants who splintered from the Church in the 16th century and gave birth to the perpetual splintering that YOU are a part of are your Protestant Fathers. There is nothing you can do about that as long as you are a Protestant.

It's just a fact of history - and a fact of life.

Hi troll,

If you cared to be honest and put this conversation in context you would "have a clue" however you choose to troll and snipe instead and you don't have a clue.

Mary

YAWN...

Topic of OP "REBAPTISM".

The ONLY Baptism YOU have alluded to is WATER BAPTISM.

And when asked Numerous times ABOUT Water Baptism.... YOU, Numerous times Could not Answer...

When YOU demand others answer YOUR Questions...That is priceless...funny...laughable.

DEFLECTION is when one is AVOIDING answering QUESTIONS about the TOPIC, and CHANGES the TOPIC.

....god, baptism, doctrine, slavery, father....
ARE ALL "GENERIC" terms.

You have made your LACK of Understanding CLEAR.

You have declared yourself a HISTORY TEACHER, in an attempt to QUALIFY YOURSELF as an AUTHORITY to dictate what APPLIES to "OTHER" people.
Again....Laughable.

When your DEFLECTIONS, and ACCUSATIONS about "OTHER" people become WORN OUT...
You begin YOUR NAME CALLING....
Again....Laughable.

I'm glad you have FINALLY found a Church that WILL
TELL you....
WATER Baptism has SAVED YOU...
TELL you...
WHO your Father IS...
TELL you...
WHO to pray TO...
TELL you...
YOU are EATING Christ's BODY
TELL you...
YOU are DRINKING Christ' BLOOD
TELL you...
WHAT to BELIEVE on EVERY TOPIC!!!

Seems you have FINALLY found a man you can Trust to TELL you what to Believe.
The ART of Deflection and Accusation and Name Calling...appears to be the most Prevelant teaching in your new found Church that has captured your attention, and been a priority of your efforts.

Glory to God,
Taken

You have never answered my question. You were infant baptized, upon the faith of your parents. Have you ever accepted Christ as your Lord and Saviour? There are a lot of baptized people who are not Christians. Don't you agree?

What does the word 'catholic' mean?

Do you believe the gospel that Paul preached?

... God chooses us, we do not choose Him.

I would disagree with you...

A relationship BETWEEN Two parties, requires an AGREEMENT "BY" EACH of the Two.

It doesn't really matter WHO is first to Declare "I love you"...."I choose you"...etc.

God has given us EXPRESS "knowledge".
1) He created mankind
2) He was the FIRST to Love His Creation.
3) He KNEW His Creations BEFORE they were Created.
4) He KNOWS which of His Creations WILL ALSO CHOOSE to Love Him.
5) He FORMED the male MAN kind of thing from dust.
6) He TOOK the female kind of thing out from the Male Kind of thing.
7) He FORMS thereafter ALL male and female KINDS of things IN the WOMB of the female KIND of thing.
8) Individual KINDS of male and female Mankind, MAKE THEIR OWN Individual Choices TO LOVE God...or NOT.
9) ONCE the MANKIND of thing FREELY Chooses to LOVE GOD....
.....
10) NOW a BOND is Established, between TWO PARTIES, being IN AGREEMENT....
Each LOVING THE OTHER, and Each ACCEPTING the OTHER.
11) THEN, does the Lord God, INTERVENE and "MAKE" the "created" man Kind of Thing, transformed INTO a Spiritual KIND OF THING.

Yes, God Loved us FIRST....
However when an INDIVIDUAL does not RECIPOCATE...there is NO BOND Established.

Without a BOND established..BEtWeeN BOTH parties IN AGREEMENT....there ARE NO changes "MADE" to the naturally formed individual.

Mary

It wasn't a conversation.

You claimed "born again" has multiple meanings.

Nope, didn't have a clue what YOU MEANT BY YOUR CLAIM...

Nope, PER USUAL, you spout out CLAIMS, but then FAIL to give one iota of what your SILLY Claims MEAN.

No need to call other people names because of your inability to articulate what you mean.

Perhaps an EASY question would more suitable for you.

How many Times have YOU been Born Again?

Yes I do believe abortion is against moral and Christian law. But then not everyone is a Christian and they have as much right to their views as we do. I do not in any way condone abortion.
Thank you.

I am glad that we agree that abortion is against moral and Christian law. If someone steals something from you Pearl should they be held accountable for their violation of that moral law?

Mary, stealing is not just against a moral law it is a criminal offence. Sadly abortion isn't any longer.

The Apostles' Creed

I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
he descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again;
he ascended into heaven,
he is seated at the right hand of the Father,
and he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting.
Amen.
I love the Apostles Creed. As Catholics we say it at every mass.

We used to say it at every service in the Church of England. And the Nicene Creed at Holy Communion.

Thank you. I already know it is a criminal offense. What I don't know and you didn't answer is "should they be held accountable".

Soooo your answer should be YES they should be held accountable or NO they shouldn't be held accountable.

Patient Mary

No Stranger - this is just another one of your idiotic dodges because you LOST the debate over the whole "call no man 'Father'" issue.

I have been on this forum for years debating with you - and EVERY time you are backed into a corner, you ask me the SAME questions, which I have answered these repeatedly. WHY would I even consider myself a Christian if I don't consider Christ as my Lord and Savior, Einstein??

As for the meaning of "catholic" not only have I explained this to you in the past - I have repeatedly given you the Scriptural etymology for this word. However - I'll enlighten you ONE more time:

Acts 9:31 talks about how the Early Church grew throughout the region. The language used here describes the Catholic Church:
Acts 9:31
“Then the church throughout Judea, Galilee, and Samaria experienced peace and thus was strengthened. Living in the fear of the Lord and in the encouragement of the Holy Spirit, the church increased in numbers.”

According to Strong’s Greek Concordance which is used by Protestants AND Catholics alike – the verse is translated as:
“The true Church throughout all Judea . . .”

Here is the phrase in Greek:
η μεν ουν εκκλησια καθ ολης της ιουδαιας

The Catholic Church gets its name from the GREEK for “according to the whole” and “universal” - εκκλησια καθ ολης, which is pronounced “katah-holos”.

Εκκλησια (ekklesia) - A gathering of citizens called out from their homes into some public place, an assembly; CHURCH
καθ (katah) - Through out, according to
ολης (holos) - All, whole, completely
"Ekklesia Kata-holos"
= CATHOLIC CHURCH

Now - here is the definition of "PROTESTANT" - which is what YOU are:

Merriem Webster's Collegiate Dictionary

PROTESTANT (prot·es·tant | \ ˈprä-tə-stənt )
: a member of any of several church denominations denying the universal authority of the Pope and affirming the Reformation principles of justification by faith alone, the priesthood of all believers, and the primacy of the Bible as the only source of revealed truth

broadly: a Christian not of a Catholic or Eastern church

Be Warning...don't bother to respond. You will just get frustrated.

This again is just another waste of time circular arguments with her. She can "go forever" on abortion and baptism..two of her favourite arguments ...the thing is, it doesn't matter who she is speaking to, she says the same things to everyone over and over.

She only ever answers a question with a question...she never give a true answer, and is just an antagonist.

I know no one on this Site who has not fallen into the pit of thinking that she really wants a real genuine discussion. Amadeus was the most patient of us all, but even he gave up..and you know what a gentle spirit he has. ✟
Just be warned :)

Thank you. I just wanted some clarification. Earlier you said anyone that is not a Christian has as much right to their views as we Christians do. Now your saying they should be held accountable for their view. Sounds like they don't have a right to their "view".

I did say that people have a right to their views. You spoke about theft and I agree that if they commit crime then they should be held accountable for their crimes.

This is like trying to knit spaghetti. :D
