Well at least its in the past.

Yeah. But I do have the damn cigarettes that I haven't shook. Others have weight problems or a sweet tooth that's going to give them diabetes. Or internet addictions, etc., etc.

We mostly rag on other peoples addictions and give ours a pass.
A lot of times....don't even SEE our own. The log in eye thing.

Maybe you should cut your lungs out and throw them away, as Jesus specified.

I heard a horrific story once of a Christian woman who was so dismayed over her sin nature, that she wanted to prove to Jesus that the hand she used to sin with was dealt with. So she boiled a pot of water and held her hand under until it melted.

Do you need Jesus more or the air you breathe? If Jesus decided to turn off the oxygen, would you need him to turn it back on? Why? You only need Jesus.

I guess if He did that, He decided that (a) I no longer needed to reside in my mortal flesh OR (b) He was going to miraculously keep my mortal body alive OR (c) He was going to resurrect me in a new body, by the power of the Holy Spirit, that does not need air to survive.

I have a confession, I'm a superhero.

No matter where you go there you are. Can’t drink it away, can’t cry it away, can’t dope it away. The list goes on. Can’t joke it away( deflection ) it’s a pitiful thing to watch.

Hopefully a made-up story by man and no woman done this. If true, God didn’t ask no such thing but this is what happens when the literal interpretations are pushed when God said His words are Spirit, they are life.

Ezekiel 24:10-13
[10] Heap on wood, kindle the fire, consume the flesh, and spice it well, and let the bones be burned. [11] Then set it empty upon the coals thereof, that the brass of it may be hot, and may burn, and that the filthiness of it may be molten in it, that the scum of it may be consumed. [12] She hath wearied herself with lies, and her great scum went not forth out of her: her scum shall be in the fire. [13] In thy filthiness is lewdness: because I have purged thee, and thou wast not purged, thou shalt not be purged from thy filthiness any more, till I have caused my fury to rest upon thee.

^consider the above. No doubt, this you may say, validates what you already think of God...as those in the Revelation of Jesus Christ who will not repent no matter what. Like the woman who stuck her hand boiling water till it melted, the literal has you stuck in ...the literal. Above “kindle the fire” “consume the flesh” ...is good and not evil. Jesus Christ said He came to kindle a fire. “She has wearied herself with lies” ...”thou shalt not be purged from thy filthiness any more, till I have caused my fury to rest upon thee.” Is Good and not evil. Here is not a literal ‘her’ but God working for ‘her’ good.

Ephesians 2:19-22
[19] Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; [20] And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone ; [21] In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: [22] In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.
