According to John, the fifth trumpet plague is designed to effect all men, all except those with the seal of God in their foreheads.Revelation 91And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit. 2And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit. 3And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power. 4And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads. 5And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months: and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion, when he striketh a man. 6And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them. He earlier identifies those with the seal of God in their foreheads as the 144,000.Revelation 72And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea, 3Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads. 4And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel. Conclusion: the only male Christians alive at the second coming of Christ will be the 144,000, the rest will have been martyred. If there were any other Christians alive at that time, then they would also be affected by this plague. In Yehoshua,Guy Smith

No, that conclusion is not correct. The 144,000 has been being sealed for a number of years now and there are many Christian's still alive. Both men and women. Also, why do you think women are not part of the group being sealed?

144,000 could also be symbolic of the church.
The 144,000 are all from the Tribes of Israel and Judah. So, yes, some of them might be in the "Christian" Church, that is the Universal church.

Hello tomwebster,You stated: Also, why do you think women are not part of the group being sealed? My response: There are going to be women. The men are identified as "the 144,000." The Bible identifies the women as "the daughters of Zion."Isaiah 4 1And in that day seven women shall take hold of one man, saying, We will eat our own bread, and wear our own apparel: only let us be called by thy name, to take away our reproach. 2In that day shall the branch of the LORD be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the earth shall be excellent and comely for them that are escaped of Israel. 3And it shall come to pass, that he that is left in Zion, and he that remaineth in Jerusalem, shall be called holy, even every one that is written among the living in Jerusalem: 4When the Lord shall have washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion, and shall have purged the blood of Jerusalem from the midst thereof by the spirit of judgment, and by the spirit of burning. 5And the LORD will create upon every dwelling place of mount Zion, and upon her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day, and the shining of a flaming fire by night: for upon all the glory shall be a defence. 6And there shall be a tabernacle for a shadow in the day time from the heat, and for a place of refuge, and for a covert from storm and from rain. You stated: No, that conclusion is not correct. The 144,000 has been being sealed for a number of years now and there are many Christian's still alive. My response: Has the fifth trumpet sounded yet? I do not believe that Revelation7 has been fulfilled. However, if it has it do not negate Revelation 9:4 which states: Revelation 9:4 And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads. If there are any other Christians (other than the 144,000 and "the daughters of Zion") alive at the sounding of the fifth trump, then those Christians would also be effected by that plague. And since God promises that no Christian will suffer His wrath, (I believe that the fifth trumpet plague is from God, don't you?) the only conclusion I can come to is that there can be no other Christians alive at that time. This prophecy is to be fulfilled toward the end of the GT at a time when many Christians are slated to be martyred. It is my opinion that this account of the fifth trumpet plague is one of several passages in the Bible which identifies the only Christian survivors. Here is another.Revelation 14: 3 And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were REDEEMED from the earth. Hello tomwebster. You stated: The 144,000 are all from the Tribes of Israel and Judah. So, yes, some of them might be in the "Christian" Church, that is the Universal church. My response: I agree that the 144,000 represent the twelve tribes of Israel. However, this statement comes with two parameters.1. The 144,000 have to be Christian.Galatians 2:21I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.2. Gentiles are not excluded from the 144,000.Galatians 3:29And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.Romans 11:17 And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert grafted in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree; Ezekiel 47: 21 "You are to distribute this land among yourselves according to the tribes of Israel. 22 You are to allot it as an inheritance for yourselves and for the aliens who have settled among you and who have children. You are to consider them as native-born Israelites; along with you they are to be allotted an inheritance among the tribes of Israel. In Yehoshua,Guy Smith
