I believe what I read in God's Word. I know exactly what I am talking about. Judas hung himself. Read it. I will believe whatever the Lord has revealed and confirmed in scripture. I've ignored nothing. It is clear to me that you are still a very young Christian, but you need to get a grip on making blind accusations and empty judgments. You are the one who doesn't know what they are talking about.
The problem is the translation the Word that was translated Hung means to choke strangle often with grief then Acts says he basically exploded we can not have a contradiction so if we assume the greek means he was chocking with his grief then he died from his belly wounds. And thus both Matthew and Acts agree

You have no idea what you are talking about. It seems to me that you also ignored Judas REPENTED HIMSELF... and the nasty words from the cheif priest...Hey, your choice, believe whatever you want to believe...

Judas regretted what he had done, clearly. He was experiencing great remorse, no doubt, for what he had done; that it was wrong, and that if he could undo it he would. But, he could no undo it. This is shown by his efforts to try and give the money back to those whom paid him to deliver Jesus to them. Nobody is arguing that point. Now, I have a question for you. Do Christians who repent, ever sin? Are Christians who have repented of their sin, and tried to make good on their errors, ever overcome w/ grief? Do you think that once Judas changed his mind, and realized that what he did was a grevious mistake that everything was sunshine and rainbows? No, he was overcome w/ grief, and there was nothing he could do to change what he had done.Just as the scriptures say, he hung himself. God knows how long he hung there, how high it was, or the circumstance that caused him to fall headlong and burst open therafter... but bursting open after day after day of decomposition in the hot sun, in the air (where decomp time is doubled), is not only possible... but an absolute certainty.I base my conclusion on what the scriptures tell me... and they certainly don't say that he wasn't murdered. That is pure speculation that adds to and takes from God's Word. There is a perfectly reasonable and sound answer for the events around Judas' death. Now don't tell me I "believe what I want to believe" or that I don't know what I am talking about.

It's now clear to me that you can take scripture out of context, condemn Christians based on matters that are entirely non-salvation related, and use eye-rolling smilies to make your point. The Lord rebuke your behavior.

Do we try to avoid it? Depends on a person... So you believed Judas never repented himself really. As long the bible says that Judas repented himself, I have to believe that, otherwise the bible says he didn't.Aren't you missing Acts 1:16-18? It wasn't even being described that Judas was committing suicide... so it's out.As for the last line, too bad, I already said it on post #19... so I can't "undo that" either.

You're right, nobody in their right mind would commit sin, ever. Judas was not in his right mind--that's the point. Judas had just betrayed the ALMIGHTY GOD, THE MAKER OF HEAVEN AND EARTH, THE SON OF THE ONE AND ONLY GOD OF ALL HUMANITY AND ALL KNOWN CREATION to be murdered and tortured to death on a cross. He was no doubt distraught, overcome with guilt, and not in his right mind.I'm not missing anything in Acts. Acts is the conclusion of what become of Judas' body, after falling headlong. The suicide is addressed in the Matthew 27:5.

Really? It's impossible? That is a curious conclusion, and what do you base it on? God's Word says that is exactly what happened. How high was Judas? How long was he DECOMPOSING IN THE HOT AIR? Either the rope could have broke, the branch could have broke, or Judas could have simply slipped out of the noose after hanging there for God knows how long of decay. Heck, for all we know someone cut him down, or birds could have chewed at the flesh around the rope. Was Judas a master noose maker? What material was used? All I know is that he hung himself (just as we are told), and that he fell headlong in the field, and burst open. If you think this is impossible, you need to do some thinking and study, because God says that is what happened. It is possible. With God, all things are possible. Especially when it's something as simple as this.

Ok obviously this thread is only going to cause argument on a matter of small import. Im sure we can find more important things to study.
