Hi all, I have a question.Do you believe the post gospel books- starting with Acts- are really just more of Jesus' teachings when he was with his apostles (after the resurrection, before ascending)?John 16:25"I have not been speaking to you plainly. But a time is coming when I will speak clearly. Then I will tell you plainly about my Father.John 16:29-30Then Jesus' disciples said, "Now you are speaking plainly. You are using examples that are clear. Now we can see that you know everything. You don't even need anyone to ask you questions. This makes us believe that you came from God."Just think about it- in the gospels the apostles were always- "what does he mean?" they were always not understanding fully. In the post-gospel books- we see men that have clearly understood the meat of the gospel.

Acts took place over several years; Christ ascended 40 days after the resurrection. Paul wrote a number of years after the ascension but the writings were under the direction of the Holy Spirit.

Uh yeah Tom, I gathered that. I'm not asking is Jesus the author. I'm saying- The disciples obviously (verses in my post) learned in a "better light" a more complete non-blind way. Perhaps they really grew up spiritually and in their wisdom of the kingdom- during these 40 days Jesus stayed with them. Did you read all my post or just the 1st sentence?

I believe they were given the full knowledge of God on Pentecost Day when the Holy spirt came on them and they began to prophesies they were teaching (prophisizing) the scriptures.I also think it is the same thing that happens to the Elect in Mark 13 they will be given full knowledge of God when he speaks through them

Yeah, Im gonna have to agree with your take on this more than mine. I believe these 40 last days with "straight talk" were very crucial to their ministry- but Jesus makes it clear that if he doesnt leave the Spirit of Truth will not come. The Spirit of Truth also teaches the deep things of Gods kingdom. Thanks you two

If they had been given full knowledge before this (had it been avaiable)they would not have asked questions Jesus would not have been teaching them, and in turn us and the world. After Pencost Day he would no longer be here de-facto(in person) and they needed full knowledge to carry on and start/ continue the church Is that what you are asking?

In the post-gospel books- we see men that have clearly understood the meat of the gospel.
What is the gospel? The gospel is the word of the Lord (1Pe1:25). All the prophets were revealed in the spirit of Christ (1Pe1:10-12). And the gospel Paul preached was also revealed by Jesus Christ, not of any human origin (Gal1:11-12, 15-16), for it was Christ speaking in him (2Co13:3). And John was also revealed by Jesus Christ, and what he spoke was the word of GOD (Rev1:1-2). So, the whole Bible is also a gospel book. From your quoted verses and your question, I can see you are really a careful and thoughtful reader. "A time is coming when I will speak clearly. Then I will tell you plainly about my Father." The Bible promised to us that on 2300 days the sanctuary will be cleansed (Dan8:13-14). The sanctuary is YAHWEH (Isa8:13-14). Now the whole Bible has been opened, for the time is near (Rev22:10) and the open scroll is all scriptures: a little here and a little there the message of the Bible is explained (Isa28:9-13), for the scroll of the LORD has nothing missing (Isa34:16-17). The word of men is no longer needed. The Bible is the word of GOD. To interpret it with the word of men, the sanctuary was made filthy. The 2300 days starts from the big horn broken (Dan8:8), that is, the king of Greece, king Alexander who was cut off around 300 BC. So now it has been fulfilled. May YAHWEH bless you all!

johnchao, it is not YAHWEH it is YHVH. Check it out in Esther.
