So says the SDA.
No. So says a Christian who admires and respects those who have gone before him with courage and faith against all odds. I do not see that in you. I see criticism at every turn...negativity at every opportunity, and a good word to be said for no-one. Not even heroes like the Waldenses. You just couldn't help but suggest they are as cultic as others who don't happen to believe precisely as you do. You are as Catholic as BofL. Perhaps not in name, but in your intolerance and belligerence, your doctrine and practice, Catholic.

That the Waldensian faith and worship existed many centuries before Protestantism arose is undeniable; the proofs and monuments of this fact lie scattered over all the histories and all the lands of mediaeval Europe; but the antiquity of the Waldenses is the antiquity of Protestantism.
The Waldenses (Vaudois = inhabitants of the valleys) from Piedmont were one of the most biblical Christian groups long before the Reformation. There were also other similar Christian groups (the Picards, Taborites, Albigenses, Cathars, etc.) scattered all over, and God had left Himself a faithful remnant in every age. The fact that the were severely persecuted by the Roman Catholics is evidence that they were opposed to False Christianity.

didn't you previously say I was JW?
You may well be aware that FBI agents trained to spot counterfeit money do not train and learn about all the different types of counterfeit...they study the real until completely familiar with the genuine. I think CI's problem may be that he is spending so much time studying every possible branch and division of religion he has lost sight of what is real and has become as confused as Babylon the Great. He's looking in so many directions for an enemy to pounce upon he has no longer any idea which way is up.

The truth is @CoreIssue Ellen White had this to say...
"We are not saved as a sect. No denominational name has any virtue in bringing us closer to God. We are saved individually as believers in the Lord Jesus Christ."
Just saying.

The greatest and most secure trap is the religious one. It assumes to be a good judge yet is full of condemnation. It has such a high opinion of itself others can never match up. It considers itself informed on every spiritual subject killing the innocent even while knowing at some level it will destroy itself. Pride rules unrelentingly. Humility is unknown.

She said a lot more than that.
Indeed she did, and I am absolutely certain all that you have read of her are the odd snippets offered by others as evidence of her "heresies". You would not dare read the book such quotes come from...you would not dare to study the root of her beliefs...you would not dare to read a whole book of hers. I think you would be afraid of being proved wrong. Several books of hers are still being constantly reprinted because of demand...millions in circulation in over 70 languages because people, hungry for truth, are genuinely uplifted, encouraged, and led to a greater commitment to Christ as a direct result of her writing. Instead of criticising from a perspective of ignorance, try reading one of her books, then come back and inform us all of where she went wrong. Try this one, one of the smallest, yet the most popular worldwide.

Don't you think it weird @CoreIssue that in a thread dedicated to a group of heroic Christian standard bearers you would turn it around and make use of this as another opportunity to denigrate those contributing to the thread?
