How does originality come from being like someone else? If Jesus is making you into him day by day, then what will be you when he completes his work?

When you are perfect in his image in heaven, are you going to even recognise him from yourselves? What will be left of you that is unique?

Anything?

This surrendering of one's identity, and becoming like Christ is frightening to me. I couldn't think of anything worse, I really couldn't.

Cannot think of anything worse...really? It is like a long and painless surgery of the soul, where you are conscious and your mind becomes enlightened to the true 'God,' through his Son. He is your friend and loves to be with you. Nothing scary at all.

Just give this precious peace that is beyond anyone's understanding a chance. Reach out and leap with faith that God has touched and placed on your heart and mind you...before you know it, this surgery is over, like being 'put under.'.

Blessings,

There is no surrendering of ones identity or of ones individuality.
In heaven we will have perfect minds and bodies that will enable us to obey God perfectly just as Jesus obeyed God perfectly when he was on earth.

I hope you don't talk like that to children, I just hope for your sake.

Jesus obeyed himself perfectly? Yeah, that makes perfect sense.

For the believer, it does ;)

When you were a little child, were you frightened of your lack of identity? Do you think that the way you identify now is the same way that others see you? You might, i guess most ppl do, but they don't, see, no one sees you the same way you see yourself; your "self" is a construct, a skin that you made to protect yourself basically, is my understanding.

So now see you're Standing There, telling us that you are afraid to lose this skin that you have put on, that we don't see anyway, see. Why don't you just...don't see it? Bc it isn't there anyway, strictly a figment of your imagination, a way that we have conditioned ourselves to believe, imo, that we end up spending a lot of time maintaining, which even gives you cause to be entertained when everyone else does it, right
