Of course we won't take our bibles into heaven. We will no longer need the written word as we will be with The Word himself.
Amen!

That is the truth. But look at all the jackals who have come out against it. :(

You are agreeing with someone who is misquoting and giving false testimony, literally making things up that I never said.
I can't seem to understand why you must interject yourself into a post that never mentioned your name and then react like it did. Paranoid?

Yeah, obviously you can't understand.

So, here, I'll spell it out for you: I was paying attention. Obviously you were not.

Obviously and why not? You're not afraid to put your word against God's word either. No surprise here.
I quote God. You say I am quoting Him against His word. Brilliant.

That's worth quoting just for the day you have to answer for it.

What is the definition of 'Mature Christian.' ? And who says , who is and who is not?

Maybe when we are all 'weighed in the Balance'...no one is at full maturity.

There seem to be plenty on here who count themselves as fully mature.

There are probable different ways to define "Mature Christian." I can think of a few:
  1. Those "who have an ear to hear what the Spirit says."
  2. Those who receive interpretation from God.
  3. Those acting in their spiritual gift.
  4. Those who know to stay silent and have faith in God.
...I suppose there is also an immature counterpart to each as well.

Well by that criteria I am well on the way to maturity. I'm not sure what my Spiritual gift is but I suspect it may have to do with writing and receiving spiritual insights in ordinary things.

For those of you who have bought into that crazy notion, can you please describe what is going on in Revelation 6 without looking at it?

"Why can't I look at it?"

"Why?, you said you no longer need the written Word."
Wadr imo you could have it open and not be able to describe what is going on there, so i would be more concerned about that?
Much of the time we are trying to uphold things we actually DON'T know anyway.
exactly

Some need it to be spelled out or they come back with obvious questions. Sorry if I spoiled the punchline...the ice was melting.

Ha well so you say anyway, but that does not make it truth and in fact it even runs counter to copious other Writings i guess
People will believe what they will believe.

But this is a Christian forum, and to think that anyone here would believe that if they were One with the Word, Jesus Christ Himself, that they would still need a bible...is rather bizarre.

I still think I need a bible for the Holy Spirit to use as a tool or a text book, but I also believe that the Holy Spirit can teach me directly in my spirit without the use of the bible. But also that anything he does teach us in that way will be confirmed in scripture.

A few years ago I was admitted to hospital with no chance to pack what I needed and I had such peace about it that I felt I was in the place God wanted me to be and it was almost like a retreat. I didn't have my bible but spent a lot of time praying for my fellow patients and the medical and nursing staff as well as the cleaners and tea ladies etc.

What I'm taking a long time saying is that whilst I was there I realised that it was more important to spend genuine one-to-one time with God than it was to read the bible every day out of habit. And to some people this daily reading of their bibles is paramount and take precedence over a personal quiet time with God . Of course it is important for us to read our bibles but not just out of habit, if that is what we do we get very little from it.
