Oh jeez sorry Ezra um the belief that you might go up to heaven after you have died, to become an immortal, even Jesus literally appearing in the Sky, these are all Mithraist nods. Now again we are to let Jacob through ok, Roman Centurion's Daugters (wonder if i could turn that into a household acronym lol, RCD, heeere goes :D) can be raised too, but you must break up Nehushtan as priest, it's put prolly a few other ways, leave the camp, whatever. Do you comfortably sing When We All Get To Heaven or no, and really no judgement if you do, just there you are?
Nothing technically wr...ha well not true. but who cares really

ah sorry dint quite catch what the first "this" was
prolly right though anyway i guess lol

anyway my constructive offering would be that if you seek death More Abundantly then life, More Abundantly just isn't going to get along with it very well, at least in my experience, which is i guess why rock of stumbling, stone of offense prolly?

I mean sometimes i see where i maybe put something really bad the next day but i sure don't see it there wadr. Maybe g will point it out?

'There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus,
.. who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus
.. hath made me free from
the law of sin and death.
For what the law could not do,
.. in that it was weak through the flesh,
.... God sending His Own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh,
and for sin,
...... condemned sin in the flesh:
........ That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us,
.......... who walk not after the flesh,
............ but after the Spirit.
For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh;
.. but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.'

(Romans 8:1-5)

* The law of sin and death, goes back to Adam, for through him sin entered and death by sin. Man, born of Adam, are reckoned as being 'in Adam', and subject to that law with it's consequence - which is death. Yet those who have been saved by grace have been placed by God in Christ Jesus, and are no longer reckoned 'in Adam' but 'in Christ'. So the law of sin and death has no more hold upon them, for they are now under the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus, with it's glorious hope of resurrection life, in Him.

* They are to reckon as God reckons, and reckon themselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God in Christ Jesus: and live as those who have died with Christ, been buried, quickened and raised with Christ, and seated with Him at God's right hand; awaiting His appearing in glory, when they too will appear with Him there. They now walk in newness of life before the Father, filled with praise and adoration to Him, Who has, by the sacrificial work of Christ, 'accepted' them 'in the Beloved', and made them 'complete' in Him.

Praise His Holy Name!

agreed and this is the foundation.. my thoughts leads towards we dont have to be captive romans 7 23 but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within me. our mind is a battlefield AND SOMETIME WE BECOME CAPTIVE IN OUR OWN MIND.. the spiritual warfare give up its no use..see what you done again.. are you really free. this is where paul writes in romans 8 because through Christ Jesus free from the law of sin and death. we should be singing my ChAINS are gone i been set free my saviour God who rescued me . we get bound up by the flesh our inner enemy our flesh likes the law of sin and death but our new man all things are new .. we have to learn to put the old man to death mortify whatever belongs to your earthly nature: col 3:5..i appreciate your reply as it helped bring things to my remembrance in this study :)

Hello @Ezra,

The appreciation is mutual. :)

Yes I am so glad that God, by the inspiration of God, wrote what he did in Romans 7 & 8, for it portrays so clearly what we all experience at some time or another, and shows that victory is ours in Christ Jesus, and not by self-effort. To mortify, in Romans 8:13 and Col. 3:5, means 'to reckon as dead', as you will know. It is all a matter of reckoning by faith, for self-effort only feeds the flesh and empowers it. It has to be reckoned as dead.

* Reckoning and yielding:-

'Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin,
.. but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body,
.. that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.
.... Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin:
...... but yield yourselves unto God,
........ as those that are alive from the dead,
.......... and your members as instruments of righteousness
unto God.'
For sin shall not have dominion over you:
.. for ye are not under the law, but under grace.'

(Romans 6:11-14)

Praise God!

* Looking upward and not inward, or outward. :)

'Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses,
.. let us lay aside every weight,
.... and the sin which doth so easily beset us,
...... and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith;
.. Who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross,
.... despising the shame,
...... and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.'

(Hebrews 12:1-2)

Hello Ezra,

Thank you for your reference to Hebrews 12:1.

The witnesses who are listed in the previous chapter, had evidenced their faith by obedience to the known will of God. Their actions testifying, far louder than words, their faith in God to do what He had promised. We have the promise of life in Christ Jesus, resurrection life, and the assurance of being the recipients of the loving-kindness of God, in Christ Jesus, in the age to come. What an incentive this is, to run the race before us, and to gain Christ, the prize.

'But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ.
Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord:
for whom I have suffered the loss of all things,
and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,
And be found in Him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law,
but that which is through the faith of Christ,
the righteousness which is of God by faith:
That I may know Him,
and the power of His resurrection,
and the fellowship of His sufferings,
being made conformable unto His death;
If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.'

(Philippians 3:7)

Praise God!

Thank you, Ezra

not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law,
but that which is through the faith of Christ,
the righteousness which is of God by faith:
this is what paul is describing in romans 7 another member (our flesh) waring in our mind--battlefield of our mind

to the lost and liberal carnal mind .....YES but to those who know the scriptures------------- NO ..i was giving you a hard time about modeling just joking.. even though paul wrote about itchy ears in his time.. itchy ears are hear today

Ah...yeah. My mother sees things almost the exact opposite of what I see. I was talking with a friend the other day and she heard my friend because it was a video chat. After we hung up, she asked who that was I had been speaking with and I told her it was someone I had known for many years. She said, he's quite arrogant, isn't he? I was in shock for a few seconds, and then I said, mom, he is quite literally the most humble person I have ever met. Then, she was the one who looked shocked!

She sees black, I see white. She sees up, I see down.

I just walked in from where I was outside with my phone. I came in and she was talking to someone about a psychic she sometimes goes to.

personally i dont think any person has full grasp on this. for if they did they could walk in %100 victory everyday.
Hi Ezra,

I believe the Bible is clear on this point, that it is by faith in Jesus that we enter into this grace in which we stand.

God gives us the ability to stand, which I believe means to not be knocked off our place by the world, the flesh, or the devil. God gives us as a grace the ability to stand, and in fact His grace is our standing, He causes us to stand. What we do is believe that this is true.

By faith in Jesus we enter the grace in which we stand. If we don't believe this to be true, or if we include some other requirement, then we do not have this faith to access the grace in which we stand, so will we stand?

But when we believe, "I can stand in God's grace - right now - by trusting Jesus for that to be true", it is true, because we, having faith in Jesus, enter in, to that grace, in which we stand.

Much love!
Mark
