Nicolas Sarkozy, Tony Blair, Barak Obama… these are some of the latest names being put forward for the identity of the antichrist. But are we looking in the wrong places?I use the e-sword Bible program, and often refer to the “KJV+” (King James Version with the Strong’s Dictionary’s word numbers inserted in the text). Checking :study: the Greek word of the word “temple” in the New Testament (according to the Strong’s Greek Dictionary), I discovered that the Greek New Testament uses two words for "temple": hieron, and naos. But one thing stood out very clearly:The last time the Greek word naos is used in reference to the temple in Jerusalem, is at the time of the crucifixion of Christ:“And, behold, the veil of the temple (Greek: naos) was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;” (Mat 27 :51).“And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple (naos), and departed, and went and hanged himself.” (Mat.27: 5).After that, the word naos is only used in reference to our bodies and the church as the temple of God; and the temple in Jerusalem is referred to only with the word hieron (with the exception only of Act.6: 13 and 21: 28, where the Greek words hagios [sacred] and topos [place] are used in reference to the unbelieving Jews’ assertion that the apostle Paul had defiled “this” “holy place”.2Thes. 2: 4 uses the word naos - (the church): "... who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God, or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple (naos) of God, setting himself forth, that he is God." So using the e-sword Bible’s “KJV+” version, I did a word-search on the word “temple”, and listed all the verses where the word hieron is used for temple up until the time of the crucifixion of Christ, and all the verses where the word naos is used.I discovered that the up until the time of the crucifixion of Christ, the word naos seems to be used only for (a) the holy place and most holy place of the Jerusalem temple; and (

the body of Christ (Mar.14: 58; Joh.2: 19), except where Luk.11: 51 uses the Greek word oikos (“house”) for “the holy place” in a verse which parallels Mat.23: 35 (which uses the word naos). The Greek word hieron (from the Greek hierushaluma – Jerusalem) seems to be used only in reference to the temple building and its outer courts. For example:“And when he was come into the temple (Greek: hieron), the chief priests and the elders of the people came unto him as he was teaching, and said, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority?” (Mat.21: 23).“Woe unto you, ye blind guides, which say, Whosoever shall swear by the temple (Greek: naos), it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gold of the temple, he is a debtor!” (Mat.23: 16).But the last time the Greek word naos is used in reference to the temple in Jerusalem, is at the time of the crucifixion of Christ. From then on, the word is only used in reference to our bodies and the church as the temple of God; and the temple in Jerusalem is referred to only with the word hieron (with the exception only of Act.6: 13 and 21: 28, where the Greek words hagios [sacred] and topos [place] are used in reference to the unbelieving Jews’ assertion that the apostle Paul had defiled “this” “holy place”.2Thes. 2: 4 uses the word naos - (the church): "... who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God, or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple (naos) of God, setting himself forth, that he is God." In other words, “the temple” that "the lawless one" will set himself up in, refers to The New Testament temple (2Thes.2: 4), and he comes with miracles and signs and lying wonders . The same Greek word used to describe him as the lawless one (anomos - lawlessness), is used in Mat.7: 23 and Mat.24: 11-12:“Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity (Greek: anomos).” (Mat.7: 22-23)“And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. And because iniquity (anomos) shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.” (Mat.24: 11-12).once was lost

Rev 12:9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. Rev 12:12 Therefore rejoice, [ye] heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.Rev 2:10 Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast [some] of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life. Mar 13:11 But when they shall lead [you], and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost.Mar 13:12 Now the brother shall betray the brother to death, and the father the son; and children shall rise up against [their] parents, and shall cause them to be put to death. Mar 13:13 And ye shall be hated of all [men] for my name's sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. Mar 13:14 But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains: Mar 13:19 For [in] those days shall be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the creation which God created unto this time, neither shall be. Mar 13:20 And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect's sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days. Mar 13:21 And then if any man shall say to you, Lo, here [is] Christ; or, lo, [he is] there; believe [him] not: Mar 13:22 For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if [it were] possible, even the elect. Mar 13:23 But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things.

Hi, Christina. Thanks for replying. Yes, what's important also to note is that the only two men called "the son of perdition" in the New Testament are Judas Isacriot (Joh.17: 12) and this "man of lawlessness" (2Thes.2: 3); and we read of the first one:"And after the sop Satan entered into him . Then said Jesus unto him, That thou doest, do quickly." (Joh.13: 27).He was a disciples of Yeshua - he walked with all the disciples as a believer. Did the other disciples know who he was? Did they know he would betray God-in-the-flesh Himself? For that matter, did Judas know beforehand? Had he planned it? Or did the thought to betray Yeshua enter him only at the last Pesach seder? We are told that this man will come with "miracles, signs and lying wonders". It’s noteworthy that from the book of Acts through to the book of Jude, the total number of records of signs, wonders and miracles performed by the disciples of Jesus, amounts only to ten:- Act.2: 43 (the apostles); Act.5: 12 (the apostles); Act.8: 6, 13 (the apostle Philip); Act.14: 3 and Act.15: 12 (the apostle Paul and his traveling companion, Barnabas); Rom.15: 19 and 2Cor.12: 12 (the apostle Paul); Heb.2: 4 (the apostles – those “who had heard”, or had been eye-witnesses of Christ); Act.6: 8 (Stephen). These miracles are called “the signs of an apostle” in 2Cor.12: 12 and Heb.2: 3-4.And it is noteworthy that from Acts to Jude, the total number of visions recorded (aside from the visions of the Apocalypse which comes after Jude) amounts to six: All six of them are recorded in the book of Acts, and each one of them is directly related to the early spread of the gospel and the evangelistic activity of the disciples. They are:- Act.9: 4-6 and Act.26: 14-20 (both passages refer to one and the same vision); Act.9: 10-12 (one vision); Act.10: 3 (one vision); Act.10: 11-19 and Act.11: 5 (both passages refer to one and the same vision); Act.16: 9-10 (one vision); and Act.18: 9-10 (one vision). In Act.12: 7-11, Peter at first thought that he had seen a vision, but afterward realized that it was no vision he had seen, but a real angel. The only other reference to visions is in 2Corinthians, where Paul speaks about “a man who saw visions” when he had been “caught up to the third heaven” (2Cor.12: 2-5).The prophet Joel said (and we cannot change the Bible):“And it shall come to pass AFTERWARD...that I will pour out my spirit upon ALL flesh… “ (Joe.2: 28).The word “afterward” is translated from the Hebrew words achar ken, which means, following after – and the context of Joe.2: 28, is what follows after “the Day of the LORD” (which refers to judgment day). The words achar ken were translated by Luke in Act.2: 16-21 as eschatos (from whence we get the word eschatology) – and eschatos does not necessarily refer to “the last days”. Depending on the context, eschatos can (and does) refer to the days following the last days. The Day of Pentecost represents “a new beginning” – it was the day the Law of God was written by the finger of God on tablets of stone on Mount Sinai, and it was the day the Law of God was written by the Holy Spirit on human hearts in an upper room in Jerusalem. Coming the day after the completion of 7 X 7 days (counting from the first Sabbath following Passover), it represents a new beginning . It doesn't represent the last days of any age. After breathing on the disciples and saying to them, "receive the Holy Spirit" (Joh.20: 22), Yeshua told them to wait in Jerusalem for the baptism in the Holy Spirit (Act.1: 4-5) - but when Acts does not say they were "baptized with" the Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost - it says they were all "filled with" the Holy Spirit (Act.2: 4).Being "baptized in" and being "filled with" the Spirit is one and the same thing, and the disciples were filled with the Holy Spirit a number of times again after the Day of Pentecost (Act.4: 8, 31; 9: 17; 13: 9; 13: 52); and we are exhorted to keep on being filled with the Holy Spirit. The indwelling of the Holy Spirit is for our benefit - our guidance, teaching and rebuke from the Spirit of God, and He is the seal of God by Whom we are sealed, which no-one except God can see.But being filled with the Holy Spirt means that like a full glass of water filled with more water overflows, the love of God for all people will overflow through us to them - and at times this filling can be accompanied with power to heal, to prophesy, etc. But from the book of Acts through to the book of Jude, the total number of records of signs, wonders and miracles performed by the disciples of Jesus, amounts only to ten.So we as Christians have to be careful, IMO, about willy-nilly following after every "prophet", "teacher" and "miracle-worker".PS One thing that also comes to my mind is this: Since the Greek word naos shows that the man of sin will set himself up in the New Testament temple, does this necessarily preculde him from also building a physical "temple" in Jerusalem?once was lost

I can't agree with you, Jordan. Satan entered Judas - and he will enter the antichrist. The power behind "the "beast" of Revelation 13 is the dragon (Rev.13: 2-5).Satan is a sirit - he cannot rule on earth without ruling through a human being/human beings.once was lost

I can't agree with you, Jordan. Satan entered Judas - and he will enter the antichrist. The power behind "the "beast" of Revelation 13 is the dragon (Rev.13: 2-5).Satan is a sirit - he cannot rule on earth without ruling through a human being/human beings.Whether you like or not, Judas is NOT the son of perdition. Like I said, it denies so many scriptures. Judas is not the only human Satan entered either. I don't see scriptures where Judas is claiming to be God. And you are also saying that Judas has been placed the same Judgement death as Satan, which contradicts this verse.John 17:12 - While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.Look at the article. There is a difference between "A" and "THE"John 6:70 - Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil? As you see here, Christ is calling Judas A devil.Revelation 12:9 - And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.Revelation 20:2 - And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,...I John 3:8 - He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.Notice it didn't say that "He that committed sin is of Judas Iscariot" It says He that committeth sin is of Satan.

Well I agree with Jordan on the Son of perdition only being Satan as you point out Satan entered Judas it was Satan being referred to here not Judas. Also I hold this view because No man not even Judas will be judged until the GWT judgement only Satan has already been prejudged and that's what the Word perdition means to be Judged to utter destruction, the destruction which consists of eternal misery in hell the only one that has received this judgement is Satan. But you are free to disagree.

Now I think you are on the right track but do I take a slightly different view I do not believe Satan's spirit will Enter a man.. I believe it is Satan himself that will be Antichrist remember he was created as Lucifer the most beautiful knowledgeable Angel ever created. It was why he rebelled he wanted to be God, I believe he himself will claim to be christ he will come claiming he is the second coming. Remember Angels often appear as men.I think he will appear as man doing signs and Wonders to convince the world he is christ himself. You might find it interesting to compare the coming of Satan and the coming of the Lord in these two verse's Luk 10:18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. Notice Satans lighteing falls down from heavenMat 24:27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. Christ lightning is east to westSatan is the great imposter but how many today are aware of these things?

Once Was Lost, It is true that many names can be used for an antichrist, because the name antichrist means anyone against Christ, who does not believe in Christ, and does not follow in his footsteps, 1Pet 2:21. To get the definitive meaning of antichrist we should go to the only places where the term antichrist is written. The term antichrist is only used in the Holy Scriptures 5 times, 3 times at 1John 18-23, 1 time at 4:2, 1 Time at 2John 4:3. Consider what is actually said in these scriptures. It tells us that there are many antichrists, even some already in the first century. The fact is: Anyone who denys that Jesus is the Christ, and that the Christ has come to earth, or that Jesus is the Chriis, the son of God, is an antichrist, Anyone who is waiting for ONE great Antichrtist is going to be caught still waiting when Jesus comes at Armageddon, and brings an end to this system of things, Luke 21:34-36, Rev 16:16,19:11-21.

Nicolas Sarkozy, Tony Blair, Barak Obama… these are some of the latest names being put forward for the identity of the antichrist. In fact, they are many "AN" antichrist, but remember there is only one "THE" AntiChrist. And only "THE" AntiChrist has been judged. (Ezekiel 28:18) All the others "AN" antichrist has not been judged. One more thing, the first "AN" antichrist I know of is Cain.
