Who takes which position is up to God

marks,
In light of the statement , i would encourage a prayerful reading of Heb 13

And especially this:

Obey your leaders and defer to them, for they keep watch over you and will have to give an account, that they may fulfill their task with joy and not with sorrow, for that would be of no advantage to you.

Peace!

Do you believe there will be the same sort of literal fulfillment that I do? A millennial nation of Israel, with the resurrected Apostles, and David, in these positions?

Much love!

Not perhaps as you do but there has been/will be a fullfillment...

But today has enough troubles... Rest in the peace of HIS love and trust that HE has tomorrow in HIS hand....

Those of us, who HE holds in HIS hand need not fear the 'end of days' , whether we are called to lay our lives down for HIS name, or whether HE spares us these trials...

Through it all rest in HIS love and trust HIM to accomplish HIS will...

Peace!

Do you believe as others on this site that this special bride that is to be, will be chosen by God, and we won't know whether that is us or not until we die?

I do.

It doesn't mean that they are not saved...just that they didn't 'make the grade'

As Paul said " Make your calling and Election sure. "

Our salvation is secure, our calling and inheritance isn't..."the fire will try every mans works of what sort they are..."

We can but trust and pray that we will be found among the faithful ... :)

"so run that ye may obtain..."

In the regeneration, the 12 apostles will judge the twelve tribes of Israel. Also, David will be raised up to be king over Israel.

Who takes which position is up to God.

Now. If we take this exactly as written, that's just what we expect to happen. There will be a restoration, and there will be a nation Israel, with David as king, and the 12 apostles as twelve judges, one over each tribe.

If we decide we should read it another way, then we could say that 12 modern apostles will rule over spiritual Israel, and you'd better start obeying them. Or we could say that there will be some of the church ruling over others in the church. Or we could say, literally, whatever comes to our minds. Anything.

And the only way to sort it out with any authority, in my opinion, is by Scripture. But the only way Scripture will confirm or deny a view is if you take it exactly as written, according to the standard use of language. Otherwise, we remain in the land of one says this is symbolic for this, and another says no, it is symbolic of that. The Bible itself must be the one to say whether something is a symbol, and what that symbol means.

My POV, anyway!

Much love!

And therein is the rub....
Quote :- "The Bible itself must be the one to say whether something is a symbol, and what that symbol means."

Sounds good BUT, The trouble with that is .. not with the Bible at all ..but with everyone of us who "interprets " , and we each say 'with authority', - "THIS is what the bible is saying.."
So what makes one persons interpretation right and someone else's wrong?
The weight of numbers that believe a certain way?

So, we break off and go and start a new denomination... :D

What a tangled ball of string we have.

"for me" other than the sacrifice, the blood, the cross, the the resurrection... I hold everything lightly.

That is why I say- " I believe" , when I'm posting...while others will get in someones face and dogmatically declare that what they say and how they believe a thing, is the only way to believe something.
I never care if people believe the same way as me. Amadeus and I have known each other for about 17 years now...we still don't believe everything the other believes. I don't try to change his mind and he does try to change mine.
One day he will see that I am right :D lol

These are just good discussion things ...

God has the last word...and one day...ALL will be revealed ..and we will all say... "So that is the way it was..."

One day sweet Jesus...until then, 'we see through a glass darkly...'

That IS an important queation...

For me, I accept that the Truth does not change , and thus what was True for my brethren in 40 ad 100 ad 200 ad....2000 ad ... MUST be True today , and so I check my understanding against the understanding of my brethren...

HE will lead you into all Truth, is a collective you, imo....

Peace be with you!

Hello Nancy, beloved of God...

Pssst.... The guests ARE the Bride

And the Spirt and the Bride say come....

Peace be with you!

Hi Phillip,
I will have to disagree with you here. From what I can gather in Revelations, the guests will be the 144,000 who reign on the new earth. I have also heard that they could be the heavenly hosts, angels, the creatures with all the eyes and such. I do tend toward the 144,000 from the 10 tribes of Israel being the guests. Guests and groom are two entirely different groups, how can a wife also be the guest??

Of course, my father in law, he committed himself to the Lord in his 74th year, 3 weeks before he died.

He, though hired in the last hour, receives the same pay as those who work the long hot day, that is right?

Much love!
What about the judgment in heaven that will uncover our works, even those hidden works we thought would never be revealed while we were in this life? Some will receive many stripes for their past behavior.

Hi Hope in God,

If you would indulge me with one more question?

Do you believe as others on this site that this special bride that is to be, will be chosen by God, and we won't know whether that is us or not until we die?

We strive in this life to be in that Bride. We will certainly know we are part of the Bride when we are taken, caught up, resurrected first to be with the Lord, which is what Paul meant when he wrote of the "better resurrection".

That is speaking of basic justification. All who were saved in this life will be rewarded with an eternal afterlife with Jesus.

How can 5000 be fed with a few loaves?

John was aware that a wedding was taking place:

The one who has the bride is the bridegroom; the best man, who stands and listens for him, rejoices greatly at the bridegroom's voice. So this joy of mine has been made complete.

Peace!

Oh ouch!

I cannot do that ...

Agree Truth does not change, Jesus Christ = The Way, The Truth, and The Life ....changes not.

Man if fallible ...he will always fail us.
If I need confirmation on what I have heard a man preach...I get on my face before the Lord and ask HIM for confirmation. It is not usually instant but He was speak and confirm the right path.

But, I understand where you are. With your church, you trust the Pope and priests to 'know everything' and tell you what is truth.
My bible tells me the posit to that.

I trust Psalm 118:8 " It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man."

Psalm 148:3 "Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help."

Micah 7:5 "Trust ye not in a friend, put ye not confidence in a guide..."

I understand your position, you have been taught differently . :)

Dearest Helen,
You misunderstand. I trust the Holy Spirit to preserve and pass on the Truth in the Church, despite the failings of popes and bishops and priests and laity...

I have 2000 years of men led by the Holy Spirit to check my understanding against... Not just in the Latin church, but the Orthodox and Copts as well,

Do you wonder why 1000+ years of separation, their teachings are so similar? I suggest it demonstrates the authority and guidance of the Holy Spirit...

Compare to the children of the reformation... After just 500 years they have splintered into thousands of groups often teaching contradictory things....

The Spirit calls us to union with one another, not division....

Peace!

No, by our agreement with the Text.

With the Scripture as the final authority, we test our words against it.

Much love!

How do we obtain?

Much love!

Like any other race that we have been in.....at the end.
We are not running against each other, but against ourself.

'I believe' that the Prize of the High Calling is God Himself .
'Here I Am folks ...run into Me, I am the Place, I am the Prize, I am your Mansion , your Treasure ...

He told Abraham- " the word of the Lord came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward. "

We are called as a kingdom of priests.... God said to the priesthood in Numbers... " I am thy part and thine inheritance ......”
'I believe' the Lord showed me this years ago.
I was standing in a meeting and some one was reading from Revelation...but suddenly everyone melted away, and all I heard was "Come up hither, and I will shew thee things...." I heard no other part of the reading that day.

Jesus had many disciples , but only Peter, James and John went " up the mountain" with Him.

I do not like Rick Joiners books much at all. But in The Final Quest (I think it was...) I did witness to his description of entering the Throne Room ...

He came in at the back... it was as though the throne was far in the distance it was so large an area. Some at the back by the door were weeping...he asked them " Why are you crying.".. They answered - "We can hear His voice but we cannot see His face." The angel at his elbow said to him..this crowd here are "the foolish bridesmaids group".

I am sure many of us remember the meeting days when we eagerly sat at the front right in front of the speaker ... one was not distracted there, the anointing was heavier there... At the back were young folk who weren't yet sure that they wanted to be there yet...and young family's distracted by babies etc... There is a difference.

I just know that where His Presence is the strongest...that is where I want to be I "press toward"... to be. Taking carnal risks with my spiritual walk here, is not worth the sacrifice that would come later...

Obtaining? Now that is all with God... as Jesus said to James and John...'that is My Fathers to give. '

I am no Paul...but if Paul ran the race and pressed into all God had for him , how can we do any less?

I believe that in heaven we will all be in the relationship to God, just where we are here in relationship with Him. Sticking close, or seeing how much we can get away with with one foot in each realm.

Salvation is sure...but where we spend it positionally , is decided by our daily choices. We are free...fact. But do we chose to be free to be bound.

Enough... I went on a bit here
