'Search me, O God, and know my heart:
try me, and know my thoughts:
And see if there be any wicked way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting.'

(Psalm 139:23-24)

Hello @farouk,

The Lord does answer this prayer, and the process is not always comfortable.

The word 'search' there is indeed operative; a searching Psalm, indeed...

'It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.
It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes.'

(Psalm 118:8-9)

Hello yet again, @farouk,

Yesterday morning part of a verse from Isaiah came to my mind, '... in quietness and confidence shall be your strength' (Isaiah 30:15). It was one which I needed very much to hear, and was a blessing to me all day.

Our confidence is not in ourselves, but in what God has achieved for us, in Christ Jesus our Lord, for that is solid ground, isn't it. He alone is faithful and true, and will keep His Word.

Within the love of Christ our Saviour,
Chris

Yes, and I love to read the 'But God' of Psalm 73 in comparison with the 'But God' of Ephesians 2.

Sovereign grace indeed! :)
Hello @farouk,

After having a bruising encounter on another thread, it is so restful and comforting here. I thank God for your fellowship with me, in the Lord our God, in Christ.

* I will check this out.

Here's another similar one: :)

"And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever." (Isaiah 32.17)

This one seems appropriate today on he 50th anniversary of the moon landing. There has been coverage on our TV all week of the take off and journey and tonight they will show Neil Armstrong stepping on to the moon's surface. Today we are used to seeing that icon view taken by an earlier mission of the earth suspended in space but when we first saw it, it was so awesome and beautiful.

Good to look with the eye of faith in the Creator.
