Revival has to do with the purifying of His bride; and will only come by prayer.

We had an event in San Pedro recently at my church; we called it THE REVIVAL. And while about 7 people got saved, not much else happened after that.

Why don't those of us who care, begin to pray for revival to happen right here on these boards?

Perhaps there would be no manifestations in such a revival, like people crying out to God on the floor of the church; but God is able to produce revival nevertheless; which would be manifested in hearts turning to the Lord in holiness; in God's people turning from their wicked ways unto Him...

2Ch 7:14, If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

This verse has been quoted in times past without much effect on the atmosphere of church or on the levels of holiness in the body of Christ...but what would happen if people actually heeded this verse?

There would be a change in the spiritual atmosphere of our culture.

I am really hurting for my brother in Christ's sake. They really slammed him (Luke P., yet again) on the show tonight.

He took it like a real man of the Lord; but I know that he is hurting because they really attempted to destroy his honour in this last episode.

I pray for him that he will come out of this as the head and not the tail, in Jesus' Name.

I don't believe he should have put himself out there like that. I don't regularly watch that show but saw a few episodes and it's mostly ungodly behavior on there. I recall watching it with family members and all the young women were vying for a handsome (but morally disgusting) man. They were told to don swimsuits and meet in a jacuzzi. One young woman did and then stood up, put a wrap on, and said "No, I'm not doing this. I feel like I'm being paraded" (something like that.) I had great respect for the young woman. Everybody cut her up but she was the only one who seemed to have a conscience and sense of dignity. The crowd is wrong. The man ended up sleeping with several of the young women. If I was one of those young women and the guy was doing that I would walk off the set. It just showed me he was a sleaze.

So Luke knew in advance what the show was about - why would a Christian man look for a Christian woman on a show where un-christian values are practiced? If he's looking for a Christian woman that is not the place to look.

I will begin praying for that. If each of the believers on here started a Revival in their own area then we may effect the change that we seek.

Actually you encouraged me with that Scripture verse. I am sensitive and get upset after reading the news - the ungodliness is just so great now. People are reduced to cattle - it's heartbreaking and I often feel like Habakuk. I recently ordered Christian tracts and am leaving them around - maybe you could do that as well.

Everything big starts small. Maybe it could start with us.

From my understanding Hannah B. was a brand-new believer at the end of the last show and as the new show was starting; and Luke decided to go on there to try to rescue her from the other guys to keep her from being unequally yoked.

I believe that he also went on there to be a witness for Christ (although at this he failed, for that the producers did their best to put him in a bad light).

re #63.

I had suspected something like that. I admire his pluck but it sounds like the producers are doing more harm to christianity by Luke being on the show. I'm sure he didn't foresee that, but what young person will be drawn to Christ after seeing christianity shown in such a bad light?

Amen...

I have been praying for revival for some time, and have been attempting to affect the people in my own sphere of influence for the better.

We may have differences of opinion over Calvinism and its tenets; but we can certainly come together to pray that the Holy Spirit might work in people's hearts to bring them to Christ in holiness...

I have always believed that we as the church have unity in the blood of Jesus Christ even if we differ as concerning certain doctrinal issues.

I really feel that Luke P. may have done a better job than some may think at representing Christ to the world.

He was being jabbed at left and right by the other contestants the whole time that he was there; and the way he responded, impaho, was exemplary.

I do believe that there will be those who will be able to see through the malarkey into Luke's heart...I do believe that the man definitely bore the fruit of longsuffering in his time on the show; and there is something to be said for that.

I believe these are things that have to happen in order for the second coming to happen, I feel this.

What are your feelings as to how far we are from Armageddon? I like to get other believers' opinions.
