This is a study written by a good friend of mine. It is typical of the studies at my Wed evening Bible study.The Mayan Calendar by: IrishFor a while I’ve been considering whether or not to post this here. Then I figured lets give it a shot. One day not so long ago, I was wondering what to go over for a study we were going to have that night and all of a sudden several scriptures drifted into my head, unrelated it would seem, and so did the Mayan calendar. Now this seemed very strange to me and I was wondering how they could relate. Now I will get into all of this as we go, but first I must draw your attention to this. Judges 7:4-7 4 And the LORD said unto Gideon, The people are yet too many; bring them down unto the water, and I will try them for thee there: and it shall be, that of whom I say unto thee, This shall go with thee, the same shall go with thee; and of whomsoever I say unto thee, This shall not go with thee, the same shall not go. 5 So he brought down the people unto the water: and the LORD said unto Gideon, Every one that lappeth of the water with his tongue, as a dog lappeth, him shalt thou set by himself; likewise every one that boweth down upon his knees to drink. 6 And the number of them that lapped, putting their hand to their mouth, were three hundred men: but all the rest of the people bowed down upon their knees to drink water. 7 And the LORD said unto Gideon, By the three hundred men that lapped will I save you, and deliver the Midianites into thine hand: and let all the other people go every man unto his place. Now as you can see from these scriptures that God only allowed those to go the fight that had kept their eye on the enemy while they drank water. Now these 300 are akin to the 232 of 1st Kings 20:15. 1 Kings 20:15 15 Then he numbered the young men of the princes of the provinces, and they were two hundred and thirty two: and after them he numbered all the people, even all the children of Israel, being seven thousand. So we can see that it is important to keep our eye on Christ but if we don’t watch the enemy we are of little use. Now PM has said recently in Luke where he was going over the swine, something to the effect that you can learn from the demons because they have been there and back. So I think I’ll leave it at that. Mark 5:9 9 And he asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many. A Roman Legion was about 6,000 men. Mark 5:12-13 12 And all the devils besought him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them. 13 And forthwith Jesus gave them leave. And the unclean spirits went out, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea, (they were about two thousand and were choked in the sea. So you see that there were 6,000 unclean spirits and there were about 2,000 swine. You’ve probably heard PM talk about the 6,000 years since Adam, and the almost 2,000 years since this event. And they would again be released. So in essence, what we have here is a rough calendar, a general timeline. We are at this point in time where these two numbers come together approximately. But can we get closer? Matt 8:28-29 28 And when he was come to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, there met him two possessed with devils, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way. 29 And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time? These devils do ask Jesus, “thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?” The word time here goes back to “set time”. Was our Lord here teaching us how powerful he was? I think we pretty well know that, and so did they. No, rather I think we was letting the devils give us a clue unwittingly as to the point that they know their “set time“. And it seems to me, that our Lord is saying, “find it”. But am I reading too much into this? Then why the point of the 2,000 and 6,000 being a rough calendar? Maybe this one is much more specific. I was pretty excited to realize this along with the other scriptures and the Mayan calendar. But I needed to know if this could be. I presented this to a group I study with that same night but couldn’t quite articulate it as much as I would have liked to. I told them, “I suspect Cain was involved in this calendar”, but I couldn’t prove it. The Mayans have a pyramid that on the spring and fall equinox at 3:00pm cast a shadow upon the side of it that shows the body of a serpent connecting with it’s head as if though the serpent is coming down from the sky. This in itself is very interesting. The Mayans themselves barely grasped the concept of the wheel. So it is unlikely that what we are going into here was designed by them. This pyramid is actually a 3-dimensional calendar. Hmmm, did I say calendar? The Mayans use a short count and a long count calendar. The short count calendar combines their Tzolkin cycle (260 days) with the solar year (365 days) and the Venus cycle (584 days). In this way, short periods of 13 years, 52 years and 104 years are generated. The long count calendar uses 144,000 day cycles called the Baktun cycle. Have any of you heard the number 144,000 used anywhere before? Are you beginning to think there is a connection of knowledge of “set times” going on here? And to digress a bit, you know how a master criminal will leave clues to investigators to play with their minds- and they get a kick out of that. The problem is sometimes for them, those clues do help break the case. This is from another website: After years of considering data from varied fields such as astronomy, ethnography, archeology and iconography, J. Eric S. Thompson determined that 0.0.0.0.0 corresponded to the Julian date 584283, which equals August 11th, 3114 B.C. in our Gregorian calendar. This means that the end date of 13.0.0.0.0, some 5125 years later, is December 21st, 2012 A.D.1 There are many calendars used. The one we use today is the Gregorian calendar set by Pope Gregory in the 1500’s which was a corrected Julian calendar. The “Julian dating” calendar is different from the Julian calendar. The Julian dating calendar combines no less than 10 of the cycles of time, 24 hours, revolutions of the moon around the earth, the solar cycle, the lunar cycle, the 1260, the transits of Venus and the procession of the equinoxes, just to name a few. Like a number of hoops of different sizes hanging from a nail, these all coincided at one ancient point in history. And so, this Julian dating method begins at that one point in ancient history . The beginning point is known. So by equating their Julian date 584283 with August 11th, 3114 BC, and they calculating the end date of the Mayan calendar, Baktun date of 13.0.0.0.0 to December 21st, 2012 AD is very interesting. In order to do this, ancient astronomers had to know how to track something called the procession of the equinoxes. This is also known as the Platonic year. It would appear that the Babylonians were aware of procession . I will ask this question, who is Sargon? Procession has to do with the earth’s wobble that causes the position of the seasonal quarters to slowly process against the background of the stars. Right now, the winter solstice position is in the constellation Sagittarius, but 2,000 years ago it was in Capricorn. It takes roughly 26,000 years to complete this cycle. So you can see since Adam we haven’t even accomplished one cycle. Another way to look at this is, our North Star, the one we have now, has not always been the one used. To see even one degree change in 360 degrees of processional movement would take 72 years. I’m not sure how long the average Mayan Indian would have lived in the jungle, but I’m going to venture to guess that it fell far short of that. But if one were to live a long time, well you could imagine the possibilities. For someone to calculate the calendar far out in to the future, not only would knowledge of procession be necessary but extreme accuracy also. This Julian dating calendar is the same one that NASA uses for their Space Shuttle program. The interesting point of the end date of 13.0.0.0.0 is that it happens precisely on the winter solstice on December 21st, 2012. And that our sun at the same moment enters the dark rift of the Milky Way Galaxy in Sagittarius. If you have ever done a study on biblical numerics, you will see 13 has to do with apostasy and rebellion. The Mayans consider the dark rift of the Milky Way when the sun aligns to be the releasing of the lords of the underworld. And the mythology involved in this has to do with the hero twins against the lords of the underworld. This also has to do with something called first father, which can also mean first son or first Ahu, which would be the first son of the winter solstice. So they knew (or somebody knew) at the end of their calendar that the solstice sun ecliptic would enter the dark rift. So their mythology seems to bear out their calendar. All this might not have been known were it not for the fact that when the Spaniards invaded, a few priests saved four codices (or ancient Mayan documents) and the Spaniards burnt the rest because they considered it the Devil religion (not too far off, huh?). These codices were purchased in Vienna in the Royal Saxon Library and brought to Dresden and sat there for an hundred years or better where Ernst Fosterman apparently broke the code of these in 1880 and scholars have worked on them since. These codices were made of fig tree bark, approximately 22 feet long, and folded like an accordion. On the last page of the Dresden codex, it portrays a serpent coming down out of heaven with water flowing out of it’s mouth and flooding the earth. Can you say Revelation 12? As soon as I was given these scriptures to read within about an half hour, and suspecting Cain was involved in this, I had to find out if my theory was correct. A friend of mine gave me a call two days after the study when I had gotten home from work and said you better turn on the TV because there is a new documentary on “Decoding the Past: Mayan Doomsday Prophesy”. The most exciting thing I learned from it is that the Mayan king’s name was Kukal Khan. And that he looked nothing like the dark skinned people he ruled over. He was very tall, white skinned, blonde hair and had a very strange elongated skull. So much so that the Mayan women would strap boards on their children’s’ heads to make them grow in a similar fashion. We know that Satan walked with Cain and even into the days of Babylonian mythology. So who was this? I’m not saying this was Cain himself, I very much doubt that. But I suspect very strongly that it was one of his not too far distant offspring that had mixed with an Adamic strain but deformed all the same. Who else but Satan, the devils, the demons and Satan’s sons would have been familiar with their “set time”? We see that in Genesis 4:17-24 we have Jabal, Jubal and Tubal Cain. Is it any stretch to the imagination to think that Kukal Khan would have been from the same family. If this was the case, we have nephilim seedline involved in this calendar. I don’t think this is Mayan at all except in physical construction. In other words this knowledge was brought to them from a king of a different family. This calendar seems to have had a reckoned beginning date of 3114 BC. Would Cain have been alive back then? It’s pretty obvious that Sargon, king Cain lived for many hundreds of years, from the book “Sargon the Magnificent”. Read into that what you want. So what of their set time? Is it possible that our Lord was showing us that they knew it and we can too? It seems to have more to do with the flood, and you can consider Rev 12 for that. But does it mean that it is the end of days, certainly not. It could mean it is the beginning of their set time, and so we should consider that. Now in PM’s “Vision” lecture he teaches the 2300/1290 days of Daniel, and that lesson brings us up to 2014 as being the cleansing of the sanctuary. To look at this, it looks as thought the Mayans consider this to be the end, and there’s the catch. One man’s end, is not necessarily another man’s end. That is to say, their end to them, might just merely be a set time to us. The set time might only be the beginning of their release as witness in Matt 8:28. This next section might require a thinking cap, or maybe even a spare. As to the flood, most people think it lasted 150 days. Gen 7:24 24 And the waters prevailed upon the earth an hundred and fifty days. Consider the word “prevailed”: Strong’s OT:1396 gabar (gaw-bar'); a primitive root; to be strong; by implication, to prevail, act insolently: KJV - exceed, confirm, be great, be mighty, prevail, put to more [strength], strengthen, be stronger, be valiant. Consider the term “put more” in this. This means that the waters increased for 150 days. This was just the apex. Meaning where the water had reached it’s maximum height. Did Noah get out of the Ark after 150 days? Maybe for a bath, but that’s all. In Gen 8:3, we see the waters were abated and in verse 4 the Ark rested on the mountains of Ararat. But note in verse 5 in the 10th month, the waters are still decreasing. He stayed in the Ark until the 27th day of the 2nd month. This appears to me to be 1 year and 10 days. Look at the end date of the Mayan calendar December 21st, 2012 AD. The date when, because of the procession of the equinoxes, the ecliptic of the sun enters the dark rift of our galactic center on the winter solstice with the long count date of 13.0.0.0.0. Let’s look at PM’s date of 2014 concerning Daniel 8, the 2300/1290 days. How much time elapses between the Mayan date of December 21st 2012 and January 1st 2014? It looks to me like 1 year and 10 days. When did Noah enter the Ark? In the 600th year of Noah’s life, in the 2nd month and 17th day. And when did he leave the Ark? In the 601st year, 2nd month, 27th day. This appears to me also to be 1 year and 10 days. Using their set time of December 21st 2012 and adding 1 year and 10 days brings us up to PM’s date of 2014 of the cleaning of the sanctuary. I think I will let it go at that. I said at the beginning that a few scriptures had entered in to my head. Matt 24:20-22 20 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day: 21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened. Note where Christ said, “pray ye that your flight be not in the winter”. Also that the whole Mayan event in question happens in the winter solstice. What are the chances? Christ also says, “neither on the Sabbath day” either. On the old Hebrew Sabbath day, the night began the day at approximately 6:00pm and it got progressively darker in until the midnight hour. So if this is the beginning of the Night of the Lord, than look at the harmony of “pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the Sabbath day”. The next two verses in 21 and 22 will THEN talk about The Great Tribulation and those days being shortened. But, those days are being shortened on a Sabbath day. It really seems like our Lord is trying to warn us ahead of time in several different ways. Look at this: Dan 12:1 12:1 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book. Is this such, when Michael stands up, this ushers in the “time of trouble”? Or rather the opposition to the beast. And how long is a time of trouble? In conclusion, I think we have been given more, and there is much more to consider in these end days. I also think it is important to keep our eye on the enemy and being able to decipher the difference between the clean and the unclean. But in order to do this, one must see the clean and unclean. The 300 kept their eye on the enemy.
