But First, Seek The Kingdom Of God:

I once thought about seeking first the kingdom of God some time ago in 1983, but now the kingdom of God means to me a lot more, since I have experienced more about what the Lord meant when he said that to his disciples, after he was explaining what to seek first of all things. I thank GOD through our Lord Jesus Christ, that he supplied our daily and nightly needs to go on forward in having faith in Him.

Mt 6:33
Seek ye first the kingdom of God. The promise is made that if we seek it first, and its righteousness, all earthly needs will be supplied. The condition demands, (1) That we seek the kingdom "first" in point of time. Some propose to secure a competence, and after they have gained it, they will serve God.

@firstthings1st.

By putting these 1st things 1st, is it only so that our earthly needs will be met? You used the word, wants, while I used the word, needs. Until we arrive at the place where our wants really are equal to our needs as God knows them to be, we may miss an important message from Him to us in this verse.

People come to God with lots of things they want but they are often mixed together with what they think that they need. Then they pray and wonder why so of their prayers are apparently not answered or they discover to their deep regret that God's answer is, No.

"Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts." James 4:3

Wants and lusts in an unbeliever are often the same and needs are also without understanding
frequently thrown into the mix. A new convert does not understand this at the first, but an very important of his growth includes the separation of these things so that when he prays or asks God for something he is praying for needs as God describes needs.

No Sir, I did not use the word wants, and I did use the word need.

I am afraid that you did...

A few verses to consider Matthew 6:31
[31] Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?

What shall we drink? ...living water.
What shall we eat? ... “you must eat of My flesh and drink of my blood” wherewithal shall we be clothed??? Do the Gentiles need those things? Romans 15:8-9 Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers: [9] And that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy; as it is written, For this cause I will confess to thee among the Gentiles, and sing unto thy name.

seek the Kingdom and these things will be added unto you. He said to fear not what man can do to the body.< It is not added there. Paul was often naked and hungry and in prison ...yet He wasn’t as being fed, set free, and led of God. The Spiritual promises are always yes. I’m not saying God doesn’t answer physical needs as well Philippians 2:27 For indeed he was sick nigh unto death: but God had mercy on him; and not on him only, but on me also, lest I should have sorrow upon sorrow.

For His namesake ...it is always yes. In “whatever you ask in My name...the Father will give it.”

Ephesians 4:20-21
But ye have not so learned Christ; [21] If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:
...Matthew 11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

(2 Corinthians 6:1-10)
Philippians 4:12-13
I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. [13] I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

“To be full..” and “to abound” comes with His righteousness and the Kingdom of God ...yet there is also that which passes away “to be abased and suffer need.”

Amen, The LORD/GOD really knows how to supply our every needs, through his Precious Son our Lord Jesus Christ all the days of our life on his earth. Philippians 4:19, Especially when we walk by faith in him to accomplish our goals in life for seeking his kingdom. Matthew 6:33, because, first things are first when it comes down to issues as we go on.

There is a time, place and a season for everything under his sun for things to happen for us to sow and reap the harvest in getting our jobs done all the days of our life. Ecclesiastes 3:1-22.

Love always, Walter :)

The point of distinction is the kingdom of "God."

We know that Jesus' kingdom is not of this world...so then, He was not referring to any form of "application" of biblical principles, but literally seeking all things first in the Spirit. Thus, the world being a manifestation of what is true on high would have its greatest fulfillment.

Amen, “Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory” Colossians 3:1-4

Thank you!

Notice Paul does not say "appear with him in the world or on the earth", but "in glory."
