You are going to have to read your bible closely to understand you are not of this world. And the harder you try to fit into this world the more it will work against you. You became a stranger and a sojourner the moment you believed. You are going to live in this world because it is the place you will learn Christ, so thoughts of escaping this world go against your father's will. He placed you in the world to bring forth a son/dauther meat for the master's use. Now how we interact with the world is your choice, how you feel led to reach the world or impact the world is a choice based on your creation. Not all are called to missions, not all are called to the five fold ministry, not all will be a soul winner on any scale.

But all are called and you are to make sure you're calling. You need to know what you feel you should do to enhance the furtherance of the gospel and reaching the world. If you are a giver, give wisely to help the ministries that need help, the gift of helps is as important as any other gift. Everyone has a gift and talent it does not matter who you are, you did not come into this world without a gifting and talents.

That will be easy for you to do because it will feel natural, no working up anything, no praying it up, just do what you feel led to do. Don't let the five fold ministry fool you, that is only a part of ministry, you may be an encourager, or always looking for an open door to share the gospel with the lost, or spur the body on to revelation. It all works together as the scriptures said. Each a member of the body, not all a mouth, a foot, an ear, or a leg, but all working together makes a body with Christ as it's head.

We do more as a group than we do trying to live as an island separated from the group. We need fellowship, fellowship is as important as breathing, it must be done. Well I don't like this group or that group. Find a group you do like and can fellowship with and be available to it because they need you as much as you need them.

This is where it really comes down too, are people doing wat their supposed 2 be doing, are they really labouring for God, uno wat the bible says right, the branch dat doesn't bare fruit is cut down and thrown into the furnace, I pray 2 God everyday and ask him what 2 do, am I doing wat I've been called to do. I go out and I talk 2 people, I spread the message and try to evangelise and hand out tracks. By the grace of God go I. we're all members of the body with different functions dats right, some preachers, some helpers, healers, prayer warriors etc.

Please post the contents of the tracks you hand out. That would be a great study.

I used to attend at least seven services per weekend. I would go to the SDA service Saturday morning, then the local Catholic service as 4:30 followed by the PCA service at 6:00. Sunday morning I go to the Methodist service at 7:30 followed by the Baptist service, then another PCA service, and yet another Baptist church's service. Sometimes I alternate with the 1st Presbyterian service on Sunday morning as well as a Lutheran service or a couple other Methodist churches.

Everyone is always so friendly, and practically treat my like a celebrity, but this is probably due to the fact that I don't officially belong to any of these churches. I used to regularly attend bible studies at these churches as well, but they all teach doctrines that are ridiculous. After a few decades, I've heard it all before so I go solely for the fellowship and the entertainment value. it isn't really a matter of need though. It's something I enjoy doing, and I think that's where everyone else is as well.

I only now found this post @soul man ,
I always love your posts and once again, this ones spot on. A Christian set apart from other brothers and sisters is like a once burning ember that was taken out of the fire...just diminishes more and more...yes we so do need one another. ♥

That's a pretty accurate witness of the-state-of-the-churches. Sadly.

We go because we are hungry. The Spirit calls and we gather, even if to go away hungry and unsatisfied. Even junk food seems better than nothing at all. Sometimes a feast, sometimes crumbs. We do what we can. We're in it together.

Patients is called for.

John 6:68
"But Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life."

... Patience is called for. ...

NOPE! ACTION is called for:

Matt. 11:12 From the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven has suffered violence, and men of violence take it by force. -- or better rendered: ... the kingdom of heaven is obtained by pursuit. And pursuers take it by ardent action.

The problem is, -- people want to be spoon fed with diet of milk. But that's not how the kingdom of heaven is obtained. You have to go into the wilderness and HEAR FROM GOD FIRSTHAND. Or, -- be content with what people regurgitate.

Yeah thanks, but I'll chew my own meat,

Thanks guys! A group of believers can meet anywhere. Through the years I have met with other believers in some really obscure places like horse barns, club house's, any place to meet and fellowship. I think it's more of the mental aspect of the getting together; two or more people seeing the same thing and fellowshiping around the knowledge of who they are, seeing Christ in each other. Everyone should experience the time of getting together when the believers from all backgrounds see nothing but Christ in other believers. Not based on what they believe, but in whom they have believed. I'll never forget my first experience it was the most liberating feeling I've ever known.

Exactly!!! Those "Emmaus moments" when you're with someone and your heart begins to burn inside you. You're fellowshipping with a complete stranger, and then suddenly you see Christ. That's how it begins. That's how we see Christ is come resurrected in the flesh.

I just noticed that you have 666 messages and 555 likes. Quite a coincidence. In biblical numerology, (gemetria) the number 6 is associated with mankind as well as humanity's imperfection. This is the day Adam was created. The number 5 is associated with grace.

The BEST thing about a few guys getting together, rather than going to "church", is that the FEW GUYS is what 1 Cor. 14:26 specifies as the CORRECT way to worship TOGETHER, versus a HIRELING, which Scripture does not endorse! :)

I am surprised this thread has fallen so far down the list. You’ve written some good stuff, here Soul man - I decided to follow you on the board so I can keep up with your posts. This is the second time I’ve found good info on your thread.

Ha - I used to do the same thing. Now I go to daily Mass and a Quaker Church on Sundays. I am looking for connection and the Quaker Church has become family. I am pretty connected with the prayer group at my Catholic Church, but Mass is impersonal.

The impersonal nature of Mass seems to be the rule, but there are exceptions. My cousins found a great pastor at their local college, and just love the fellowship. it's one of those things that just seems to happen, but there's this inertia of centuries of mindless ritual. I take my mother to Mass occasionally, and nobody seems to know why they do anything anymore. When I was a kid, I was not only taught all that I was supposed to do on the alter, but I was told why, and what for. I knew what I was doing and why I was doing it. Now, people sit, stand, kneel, and the priests don't even seem to know why they're doing what they're doing anymore.

I've always thought Quakers were intriguing. I don't know why I've never been to a Quaker meeting. I think their method is fascinating.

Quakers are great - there are two main branches - I go to the one that has a minister and sticks closely to the Bible. They are not the silent Quakers - which I discovered, were formed after WWII - I thought they were much older. This branch is from the 1600s. The only issue I have is their interpretation of the nature of God - many of them reject the Trinity - however, the official stance is that The nature of God cannot be defined and I can live with that.
