Gen. 35:10 And God said unto him, Thy name is Jacob: thy name shall not be called any more Jacob, but Israel shall be thy name: and he called his name Israel.

A goy and a kehal goyim....a nation and a congregation of nations. The word for congregation (kehal) also means church.

So then God, from the beginning, saw Israel as something spiritual. The nation is the shadow...the congregation is it's spiritual fulfillment. It is a church from the nations...ALL nations.

So this must be kept in mind from this verse onward through the entire bible.

The title of 'Jew' was derived from the tribe of Judah, and that is what the Jewish historian Josephus stated where the term originated. It did not apply to the ten northern tribes of the "kingdom of Israel" after God split old Israel into two separate kingdoms (1 Kings 11). The tribe of Benjamin sided with Judah, and made up the "kingdom of Judah" after the split. The Levites joined with them after they were prevented from their duties among the northern tribes. Also some remnants of the ten northern tribes that refused the calf idol worship in the north instead went south and joined with Judah. Those became Jews also. Idumeans from the nation of Edom that was destroyed also migrated among Judea and became Jews. Thus the Jews became one mixed up group of people, still also with Canaanites of the nations dwelling among them which Israel was not able to destroy (1 Kings 9; Ezra 2; Zechariah 14:21).

As per 1 Kings 11 through 2 Kings 17, the ten northern tribes of Israel were a separate kingdom from the Jews of the southern "kingdom of Judah". The northern kingdom was called the "kingdom of Israel", and it was the ten northern tribes which were mainly known as Israel from that point onward. God removed the northern kingdom out of His sight because of their idol worship against Him. And they never returned to the holy lands as a people. They were lost. Lost to Judah, and to the world, but not to God. This is why Jewish scholars are divided about the return of the ten lost tribes. Some of them believe they are gone and lost forever, mixed among the Gentiles beyond recognition, and other Jewish scholars believe God's Word as written, that He will gather them back to the promised land God originally gave their fathers, which is written.

Not nonsense. But historical fact. Sammy Davis Jr., a Black, became a Jew. So did many Black Ethiopians at some point in their history. So the subject isn't really about the Jews being born of Judah. Not really interested in your personal history. My family history goes back to the Middle Ages in Europe, so what? The matter is that not all Israelites born of the seed are Jews, nor are all who claim to be Jews born of the seed of Israel.

The Real History of God's Israel:

The origin of the title 'Israel' was the new name God gave to Jacob. Even before Jacob was born, while he and his brother Esau were in their mother's womb, there was a stir in her womb, which she prayed about. God said there were two manner of people in her womb, and that the younger (Jacob) would rule over the elder (Esau). Jacob was thus chosen by God, before he was born (see Gen.25).

Per Gen.32, Jacob wrestled with the Angel that prevented him from entering into the promised land, and would not let him go until the Angel blessed him. Jacob was then given a new name, Israel, to represent his having overcome with God's help.

But many fail to recognize that Jacob was still later called Jacob in Scripture, showing the new name Israel was especially symbolic. It represented God's Birthright promises He first gave to Abraham, which were later passed on to his son Isaac, and then to his son Jacob. Thus God is called The God of Abraham, and The God of Isaac, and The God of Jacob, to represent the inheritance Birthright that God first gave to Abraham. Included in that Birthright blessing was The Gospel of Jesus Christ, the most important part. It also included plenty of corn and wine (i.e., great resources), ruling the gates of one's enemies (greatest military power), and a seed as many as the stars and sands of the sea, a throne with kings, and giver of God's laws.

This Birthright from God given through Isaac is something that still irritates the seed of Ishmael (Arabs) to this day, as their clerics admit. They see Ishamel as the real firstborn son of Abraham, which still God had promised that in Isaac would be counted for the seed, because He promised that Sarah would bear. Sarah being old, thought God needed a little help, so she sent her servant Hagar into her husband Abraham's tent, and Ishmael was born. But Hagar and Ishmael were later cast out by Abraham because of Sarah's jealousy. Nevertheless, God promised the seed would be through Abraham and Sarah, not Hagar.

Then Jacob had 12 sons, which would later become the 12 tribes of Israel. The Birthright then went to the firstborn Reuben, but he defiled his father Jacob's bed by having sexual intercourse with one of Jacob's wives. The Birthright then defaulted to Jacob's son Joseph who was separated into Egypt, where Joseph had two sons, Ephraim and Manasseh:

God's Birthright promises, which included the king line over Israel, was split. The king line and care of the law was given to the tribe of Judah (here and Gen.49:10). But the rest of the Birthright promises were given to Joseph and his then his two sons Ephraim and Manasseh.

In Genesis 48, Ephraim's seed was promised to become a "multitude of nations". And his brother Manasseh was also to become "great". This is where God's Birthright stopped. It is still with these two to this day. How did this happen and manifest?

It manifested through Christ's Church.

God split old Israel into two separate kingdoms first, during the time of Solomon's son Rehoboam (1 Kings 11). The 2 tribed southern "kingdom of Judah" reigned over the southern lands in the Middle East, and the 10 tribed "kingdom of Israel" reigned over the northern lands. God setup one of the seed of Ephraim as king of Israel over the ten tribes in the northern lands. The two kingdoms had war against each other. Because Jeroboam, king of northern Israel setup golden calf idol worship in the north, God removed the ten northern tribes captive to Assyria and the land of the Medes, and regions around today's Turkey. There the ten tribes fell fully into their Baal worship they coveted, and lost their heritage as part of Israel. This was outlayed in the Old Testament prophet Hosea. In Jesus' day, the ten tribes were gone, not in the holy lands at all.

God promised He would punish Israel if they turned away from Him by scattering them among the Gentiles. This He did to the ten tribes. They became lost. Per Hosea, God said He wouldn't do this to Judah (Jews), so they kept their heritage as part of Israel.

When our Lord Jesus came to Jerusalem to offer the Jews in Judea His kingdom, they instead crucified Him. Then The Gospel went to the Gentiles, where the ten tribes had been scattered among. Scattered Israelites along with Gentiles, both believers on Christ Jesus as their Saviour, then became Christ's Church, with God's Promises of His Birthright passed to them, except the royal rule and giver of the law would remain with the tribe of Judah, even as it still is to this day.

This is how God's promise through Jacob to his sons Ephraim and Manasseh would be fulfilled, with the "multitude of nations", and "company of nations" prophecy (Gen.35; Gen.48). God does what He says. We can count on it. This has not just been spiritually fulfilled. It has also been literally fulfilled. The reason why Christ's enemies hate the European monarchs so much is because Satan knows where God moved His Promises to. God ended David's throne in Jerusalem in the days of Jeremiah the prophet. To this day since then, there has never been one of the house of David sitting on a throne in Jerusalem. Yet that was one of God's Promises per His Birthright to Judah. No worry, He fulfilled it elsewhere, through Christ Jesus. This is one of the biggest factors of today's Jerusalem and state of Israel not yet being the result of God's return of the kingdom. There still is no king of the house of David sitting on a throne there in Jerusalem.

So don't be deceived brethren about today's nation of Israel in the Middle East. The majority of God's promised Birthright is still not there yet, and won't be until Jesus returns. As the end in our day approaches, the orthodox unbelieving Jews will continue to try and make us think God's Kingdom has come there today. There indeed still are blessings He gives them there, but they still are not the majority of His promises He gave to His Israel which make up Christ's Church today.

The "lake of fire" event of Rev.20 is still future. That won't happen until after Christ's future thousand years reign with His elect.

Ok. Not saying I’m right because most likely you are right. But in studying no where does it appear our hope is waiting in expectation for future breaking to begin...where those oppressed inherit those who oppressed them to “rule over them” from his throne to oppress those who oppressed. That may be so, but no one can get away from the facts that:
(1) since 1948 there is a portion of the former Palestine occupied by Jews (or those who converted to Judaism) at present,
(2) that Jews have been flocking to Israel from all over the world over the last 70 years,
(3) that quite a few Jews have converted to Christ (albeit in Messianic Judaism),
(4) that the secular unbelieving nation state of modern Israel has been preserved by God in spite of overwhelming odds,
(5) that Jerusalem has been declared the capital of Israel,
(6) that the New Testament itself tells us that upon the second coming of Christ many will be converted and saved,
(7) that Christ Himself shall come to Zion (the Mount of Olives) and deliver Israel from its enemies,
(8) that God and Christ will redeem and restore Israel after His second coming,
(9) that Christ will establish His Millennial Kingdom with Israel at the heart of it, and
(10) the twelve tribes of Israel will be established in the Promises Land (greater Israel) after the second coming of Christ.

The Jews will goes through "the time of Jacob's trouble" and one-third of them will be further refined in a furnace of afflictions. So no matter what our personal animosities might be against Jews and Israel, and regardless of the anti-semitism of the majority of the civilized world, Christians have a solemn duty to carefully study the Word of God and determine that God has an eternal plan and purpose for redeemed and restored Israel and Jerusalem. God told Abraham that He would bless those who blessed him, and curse those who cursed him. And this extends to his descendants.
