We cannot fulfill the lusts of the flesh and deceive ourselves in to believing that we will inherit God's Kingdom too.

Colossians 3
[5] Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:
[6] For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience:
[7] In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them.
[8] But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.
[9] Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;
[10] And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

The sad danger in this kind of "preaching" is the discouragement heaped upon many Christians who might actually come to believe that they are already to be Perfect, instead of being perfected. (There is not a soul on the face of this Earth who has achieved Perfection.... nor will they ever achieve it while still alive.)

I agree with you, but with the proviso people need to know how to love Jesus and love others.
A lot end up is self guilt and self punishment without sharing the beauty of what God has done in their hearts.

I have known many men and women who fall into sexual sin, because they find it hard to find true love and recognition through friendships or family, and only sexual sin gives them a sense of attachment and belonging. These kind of needs are not resolved through discipline or abstinence, but through knowing transforming love.

It was hard to narrow down this list, but here are my favorite Bob Goff quotes that will change the way you live.

1. “I used to be afraid of failing at something that really mattered to me, but now I'm more afraid of succeeding at things that don't matter."

2. “I used to want to fix people, but now I just want to be with them.”

3. “You don't need a plan; you just need to be present.”

4. “Most people need love and acceptance a lot more than they need advice.”

5. “I used to think you had to be special for God to use you, but now I know you simply need to say yes.”

6. "Give away love like you're made of the stuff; we're rehearsing to spend eternity together."

7. “If we only do what we’re familiar with, we might miss what we’ve been made for.”

8. “Whatever you’re aiming for, God’s better.”

9. “We’re all amateurs when it comes to love. Don’t be too hard on each other.”

10. “While you’re figuring out what God wants you to do next — go love everybody.”

11. “Love everybody, always.”

12. “Do what lasts: get around to everything else.”

13. “Love is never stationary. In the end, love doesn’t just keep thinking about it or keep planning for it. Simply put: Love DOES.

Romans 8 and its searching truths can act as a really reassuring tonic to the believer, in whatever circumstances... :)

The sad danger in this kind of "preaching" is the discouragement heaped upon many Christians who might actually come to believe that they are already to be Perfect, instead of being perfected. (There is not a soul on the face of this Earth who has achieved Perfection.... nor will they ever achieve it while still alive.)

Willie T, Seems that you rely upon Apostle Bob Goff as your authority, while 07-07-07 relies upon the Apostle Paul.

Willie T says, "The sad danger in this kind of "preaching" is the discouragement heaped upon many Christians".

Well Willie, we wouldn't want to scare anyone with stuff the Bible says. We should all just ignore Scripture and all go back to sleep like the rest of the end times church of Laodicea. But then there is what the Bible has to say on the subject:

Paul said "work out your salvation with fear and trembling" Philippians 2:12

And then Jesus confirms what 07-07-07 says: “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name [Vineyard stuff], and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’ Matthew 7:21-23

Paul confirms what 07-07-07 said, "For those who are according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace, because the mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even able to do so, and those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him." Romans 8

Willie, it would seem that you subscribe to the 'let's all just go back to sleep cult foolish virgin cult'. "The foolish ones . . . all became drowsy and fell asleep."

I don't believe the above is discouragement.
Jesus came so that we might change in order to make the world a better place.
Just reading Matthew 5:3-9 shows this to be true.

It's good to know that we must cooperate with God in order to throw away the old man and learn to trust the new one.

So putting off anger, malice, blasphemy and cursing is a good thing.
Jesus taught for 3 1/2 years.

What did He teach anyway?

God help the poor people who are only mortal who come across you pious Pharisees, and have to hear your condemnation of them for not being perfect. No wonder Jesus told those other Pharisees that the Tax Collectors and Prostitutes would be entering the Kingdom before they would.

WHO is condemning anyone?
Could you post the words please?
Where does it say in any post that one must be perfect?

It sounds like you're talking to me.

Only if you consider yourself one of those here saying that once a person gets wet, they are going to be perfect. (Peter sure did well in that respect while he listened to the cock crow.)

Willie, your postings are outstandingly conspicuous for their total absence of Scripture to back up anything you say, which is a red flag to believers about false teachers and the apostasy coming in the last days. It sounds like you belong to some sort of non-Biblical cult that despises Scripture and it's author.

I take my instructions and mandate totally from Scripture which says:

"preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort" 2 Timothy 4:2

"Those who continue in sin rebuke in the presence of all". 1 Timothy 5:20

"Do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but instead even expose them." Ephesians 5:11

So when confronted with an apostate who is offering some sort of anti-Scriptural religion. I am armed with the knowledge of the Word of God, and thus am able to defend my spirit in full armour mode with knowledge of the truth.

I suspect we wouldn't be told to restore Brothers caught in sin with gentleness and love... if it was not anticipated that they would sin again (rather seriously, it seems) even after they had become Christians.
And if you are so weak in Biblical knowledge, Stan, that you require Chapter and Verse for the Scriptures I have already referenced in my posts..... then I suggest you might be only memorizing words on paper, and not taking it into your heart.

My point is this:
I didn't read any post on this thread that states that we have to be perfect.
How is it that you're reading this into the posts?
Why the sensitivity?

Even Jesus said we cannot put new wine into old skins. Matthew 9:14....
We are the new wine....living in God's grace.
The old skins are representative of the law.

I don't see any pharisees here...only persons speaking the truth.

Ephesians 5:8
We are the light...

It is important to understand the simple meaning of "brother". A brother is a person who shares with me the same Father. But the church is being invaded by those who have a different father, whose progeny are not my brothers, intent upon serving his purpose in deceiving the church with the doctrine of demons. They are alive and well in holy roller churches. I recently heard from a friend who declared their church had been placed under attack by a coven of witches who had placed a hex upon their church, blinded to the fact the demons were already alive and well within the church, and not coming from without.

I apologize. I mistakenly thought I was speaking with a thinking adult.

The Father chastises those he loves, and those who won't receive correction are rejected.

Hebrews 12
[5] And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:
[6] For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
[7] If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?
[8] But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.
[9] Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?
[10] For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness.
[11] Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.

When you present the clear simple truth of Scripture, there is not much need to add much in addition to that. Nice to hear from someone who embraces Scripture. That's the kind of person I can learn from!
