Normally when you think of a tragedy, you think about some great disaster, like an earthquake or flood, that takes thousands of lives. Well there is an even greater disaster than this, that is effecting Billions of people. This disaster isn’t greater, because it hurts more people, but because of the duration, in which these people will be hurt. The tragedy, that I am referring to, is a Spiritual tragedy. And we can read about it in Matthew chapter 7.
Matthew 7:21-23V.21 ¶ Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. V.22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? V.23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
The tragedy talked about in this passage, is the tragedy of a religious person, thinking that they are saved, and on their way to heaven; Only to find out too late, that they weren’t really saved, at all. The Bible tells us here and many other places, that Billions of people, are going to be deceived in this way, and will have to spend an eternity in Hell, because of it. The most important thing in the world for us to do, is to make 1000% sure, that we are truly born again, and not just religious (See 2 Corinthians 13:5). Faith in Jesus Christ alone, is the only way of true forgiveness and salvation. Making sure that we are doing things, “according to the Bible”, and not “according to man’s opinion”, is another good way, to make sure, that you are really saved. One of the best ways, to know if you are really saved, is by how you react to the Gospel, when it is preached. If that message, causes you to have any doubts about your relationship with God, this is a good sign, that you need to do some soul searching.

God's Word told us that there will be famine in the end times. It's not for food - it's for the Word of God.Amos 8:11-14
Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD: And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find it. In that day shall the fair virgins and young men faint for thirst.

When you talk about "the gospel" do you mean just believe that Jesus died for our sins & rose, or the full message of repent from other ideas, be baptised and receive God's Spirit (evidenced by speaking in tongues) that the apostles began to preach at Pentecost?

Out of respect for the OP, I'd prefer for this not to get off-topic. However, I missed the above verse that said any man had to witness salvation (through this mythical nonsense of tongues) in order for someone to be saved.II Timothy 1:9
Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,
Ephesians 2:8
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Of God, not of man. It's HIS call.

Not everyone in the Body of Christ will NOT get that tongue you are speaking of, as we are saved by grace, and not by works (Ephesians 2:8-9) It's the baptism of the Holy Spirit (Matthew 3:11) we need and it doesn't including speaking in tongue.

To repeat a very good post by Logabe though for a different topic it serves well here also so Ill take the liberty of re-posting it here. When one thinks they are prophesising from God one need be very careful if one can not understand what they are saying You can not decern what the spirit says >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>When we look at the prophetic example of King Saul, we find him in rebellion against God (which is witchcraft—1 Sam. 15:23). By the end of his reign we see him consulting the witch of En-dor (1 Sam. 28:7). Because Saul is a type of the Church under Pentecost, it would be a surprise if we did NOT see much of the Church under the spell of the Queen of Heaven. In fact, Saul had outlawed witchcraft and had even persecuted witches and mediums. 1 Sam. 28:9 says,9 But the woman said to him, “Behold, you know what Saul has done, how he has cut off those who are mediums and spiritists from the land. Why are you then laying a snare for my life to bring about my death?”The Church has indeed persecuted witches and mediums throughout history. But in spite of this, Saul was still into the spirit of witchcraft since his original rebellion without repentance. Though he confessed his sin to Samuel, he did not repent. He could have repented when confronted by Samuel, but instead, he was more concerned about public relations. 1 Sam. 15:30 says,30 Then he said, “I have sinned; but please honor me now before the elders of my people and before Israel, and go back with me, that I may worship the Lord your God.” 31 So Samuel went back following Saul, and Saul worshiped the Lord.It is amazing to me that Saul could be in witchcraft and still worship the Lord. Saul’s problem was not in his ability or desire to worship the Lord. The problem was hidden in his heart. It was a mystery, a secret, a hidden rebellion, and he refused to repent of that witchcraft. It was not long before God sent Samuel to anoint another king. He anointed David. 1 Sam. 16:14 says,14 Now the Spirit of the Lord departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the Lord terrorized him.Later, in 1 Sam. 18:10, we read (NASB),10 Now it came about on the next day that an evil spirit from God came mightily upon Saul, and he raved [naba, “prophesied”] in the midst of the house. The NASB translators could not understand how Saul could prophesy under the power of an evil spirit, so they thought he must have been raving. However, this Hebrew word is consistently translated “prophesied” throughout the Old Testament. In no other place is it translated “raved.” The fact is, Saul prophesied under the influence of the evil spirit FROM GOD. He assumed that he was under the power and anointing of the Holy Spirit. But in fact, it was by an evil spirit from God. He did not know the difference, and neither do very many Christians today.Such counterfeit prophecy comes from the Jezebel spirit, “who calls herself a prophetess” (Rev. 2:20). She was brought in by Saul’s rebellion, overthrown later by David, and then re-established by Solomon through his marriage to the daughter of Pharaoh and his other foreign wives (2 Chron. 8:11; 1 Kings 11:1-10).Logabe

Hi TallManI will be glad to answer your question. You asked.......“When you talk about "the gospel" do you mean.......”The Gospel is God’s supernatural message to the world.According to 1 Corinthians, the Gospel is the “Death Burial and Resurrection of Christ”.
1 Corinthians 15:1-4V.1 ¶ Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; V.2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. V.3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; V.4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
-------------------------------------------------- Salvation is serious business; And my advice to ANYONE, that has any doubt at all, that they have been truly born again, is to go to the Bible and make sure, that they have gotten saved, “the Bible way”.The Bible teaches that Salvation has nothing to do with an organization. Salvation comes about, when God reveals a person’s sinfulness to them(by way of His Word), and that person is convinced that they are lost and needs forgiveness.(This is called conviction.)-------------------------------------------------- I think this subject, needs it’s own thread. (One will follow!)

You are utterly wrong Jordan.Your comments ignore scripture and misunderstand what you do quote.Grace is not just a word, not just absense of the law, it's what Jesus was "full of" - the Spirit of God.Zechariah describes this one Spirit as "the Spirit of grace and supplications" (12:10) . . which began to be poured out at Pentecost, evidenced by speaking in tongues (the "supplications") whereby we are made to drink of that living water (1 Cor. 12:13).The New Covenant knows of no other way of salvation (Titus 3:5-6, Acts 2:33-39)If only you wouyld "stop posting" your error, but, you have freedom of speech.

From your answer one cannot say whether you are saying yes or no to my question.Though it implies no.Paul is talking about the resurrection to people who are already Christians in 1 Cor. 15, elsewhere Paul describes "the gospel" as the power of Goid unto salvation - Jesus said we receive power by the baptism in the Spirit (Acts 1:4-8), whereby we are saved (Titus 3:5-6, 1 Cor. 12:13). In Gal.3:13-14 Paul details how Jesus died so that we could receive that Spirit. When it comes to ministering the gospel to unsaved people, look at how Paul knew that people who were baptised by him had not received the Spirit - and how he knew precisely when they did receive (Acts 19:5-6).

Hi TallmanSorry I didn’t directly answer your question before.-------------------------------------------------- Today’s “tongues”, are man-made, and not like the “tongues” of the Bible......
Acts 2:8-11V.8 And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born? V.9 Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia, V.10 Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes, V.11 Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.

Revelation 10:11“And he said unto me, Thou must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings.”
The true gift of tongues, was the ability to speak other known earthly languages.-------------------------------------------------- Tongues was a valid gift, but not every Christian was given it..........
1 Corinthians 12:30“Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?”
-------------------------------------------------- The true gift of tongues, has fulfilled it’s purpose and is no longer given to any believer......
1 Corinthians 13:8“Charity never faileth: but whether [there be] prophecies, they shall fail; whether [there be] tongues, they shall cease; whether [there be] knowledge, it shall vanish away.”
-------------------------------------------------- I have dealt with “tongue speakers”, on many occasions(in love), with the aim, of delivering them from their infatuation with this “so-called gift”.Being wrapped up in this “unimportant aberration”, isn’t really a sin, it is just a waist of your time........
1 Corinthians 14:37-39V.37 If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord. V.38 But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant. V.39 Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues.
-------------------------------------------------- I have not said any of these things, to be hurtful or hateful:But have simply spoken the truth in love, because I care about you.

I do not need to twist scriptures to suit you and your preconceived ideas of men that came from the modern world. In fact, you are a bit blind, and I think you are blind for a reason, but just in case, I'll post some scriptures.John 14:6 - Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.Ephesians 2:8-9 - For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.Romans 11:6 - And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then it is no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.I lean very tightly towards the word of God, not fools idea like yours Tallman.(bigape;63646)

So, what i'm learning here is that, from christina's repost and the tongue speaking debate going on, this "tongue speaking" which is not given to all who are saved, can come from God as an evil spirit, to confuse a person, so that that person better study the word of God and ask God to show them what is truth, instead of babbling?Don't burn me please, just correct me.

Scripture says that God is not the author of confusions. (I Corinthians 14:33)
