In the religion of Islam, 'Id Al-Adha or Eid al-Adha (Arabic عيد الأضحى, "Festival of the Sacrifice") is a major festival that takes place at the end of the Hajj. It is also known as 'Id al-Qurban or al-'Id al-Kabir (Major Festival). Eid al-Adha marks the completion of the hajj (pilgrimage) rites at Mina, Saudi Arabia, but is also observed by Muslims throughout the world to commemorate the faith of Ibrahim (Abraham).

Eid Al-Adha begins on the 10th of Dhu'l-Hijja, the last month of the Islamic calendar, and lasts for fours days. It begins the day after Muslims on the Hajj descend from Mount Arafat.

Meaning of the Festival

The festival commemorates Allah's gift of a ram in place of Isma'il (Ishmael), whom God had commanded Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice. (In Judaism and Christianity, the child in this story is Ishmael's brother Isaac.)

The devil tried to persuade Ibrahim to disobey Allah and not to sacrifice his beloved son, but Ibrahim stayed absolutely obedient to Allah and drove the devil away. Eid al-Adha is a celebration of this supreme example of submission to God, which is the cornerstone of the Islamic faith (islam means "submission").
Eid al-Adha Observances

On Eid al-Adha, families that can afford it sacrifice an animal such as a sheep, goat, camel, or cow, and then divide the meat among themselves, the poor, friends and neighbors.

The sacrifice is called Qurban. During the sacrifice, the following prayer is recited:

In the name of Allah And Allah is the greatest O Allah, indeed this is from you and for you O Allah accept it from me. Eid al-Adha is a public holiday in Muslim countries. Like 'Id al-Fitr, 'Id Al-Adha begins with communal prayer at daybreak on its first day, which takes place at the local mosque. Worshippers wear their finest clothes for the occasion. It is also a time for visiting friends and family and for exchanging gifts.

Why do you have a festival based upon a lie. And how is it all Muslims believe that lie? It was Abraham that was commanded to sacrifice Issac not Ishmael. Perhaps a better Festival to celebrate is how The Lords Mercy was shown to Haggar as she sat crying apart from her son. Why not celebrate The Lords Mercy, for even from Ismael came a mighty nation. Perhaps it is time you read the Biblical account of this true story, then you will see a story of obedience and mercy.

Come back yasoooo! Let us reason together as decendents of Issac and Ishmael. Remember the words I spoke to you before. If while in prayer, you speak these words, The Lord will reveal Himself to you, "Jesus if you are real, then reveal yourself to me, show me who you truly are." If you do this, He will answer you by way of a dream, as He has done with many other Muslims.

1. Bible Says that God is not Man
The Bible says:

Numbers 23:19 “God is not a man…”

Hosea 11:9 “...For I am God, and not man...”

Jesus is called a man many times in the Bible:

John 8:40 “…a man who has told you the truth…”

Acts 2:22 “Jesus the Nazarene, a man attested to you by God with miracles and wonders and signs which God performed through Him in your midst, just as you yourselves know.”

Acts 17:31 “He will judge the world in righteousness through a man whom He has appointed”

1. Tim. 2:5 “…the man Christ Jesus.”

God is not a man, but Jesus, may the mercy and blessings of God be upon him, was a man, therefore, Jesus was not God.

2. The Bible Says that God Is Not a Son of Man

Numbers 23:19 “God is not a man...nor a son of man…”

The Bible often calls Jesus “a son of man” or “the son of man.”

Matthew 12:40 “…so will the son of man be…”

Matthew 16:27 “For the son of man is going to come…”

Matthew 28 “…until they see the son of man coming in His kingdom.”

Mark 2:10 “But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority…”

John 5:27 “…because He is the son of man.”

In the Hebrew Scriptures, the “son of man” is also used many times speaking of people (Job 25:6; Psalm 80:17; 144:3; Ezekiel 2:1; 2:3; 2:6; 2:8; 3:1; 3:3; 3:4; 3:10; 3:17; 3:25).

Since God would not contradict Himself by first saying He is not the son of a man, then becoming a human being who was called “the son of man”, he would not have done so. Remember God is not the author of confusion. Also, human beings, including Jesus, are called “son of man” specifically to distinguish them from God, who is not a “son of man” according to the Bible.

3. The Bible Says that Jesus Denied He is God

Luke 18:19 Jesus spoke to a man who had called him “good,” asking him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good except God alone.”

Matthew 19:17 And he said to him, “Why are you asking me about what is good? There is only One who is good; but if you wish to enter into life, keep the commandments.”

Jesus did not teach people that he was God. If Jesus had been telling people that he was God, he would have complimented the man. Instead, Jesus rebuked him, denying he was good, that is, Jesus denied he was God.

4. The Bible Says that God is Greater than Jesus

John 14:28 “My Father is greater than I.”

John 10:29 “My father is greater than all.”

Jesus can not be God if God is greater than him. The Christian belief that the Father and son are equal is in direct contrast to the clear words from Jesus.

5. Jesus Never Instructed His Disciples to Worship Himself or the Holy Ghost, but God and God Only

Luke 11:2 “When you pray, say Our Father which art in heaven.”

John 16:23 “In that day, you shall ask me nothing. Whatsoever you ask of the Father in my name.”

John 4:23 “The hour cometh and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth; for the Father seeketh such to worship him.”

If Jesus was God, he would have sought worship for himself. Since he didn’t, instead he sought worship for God in the heavens, therefore, he was not God.

6. The Bible Says that Jesus Recognized, Prayed, & Worshipped the Only True God

Jesus prayed to God with the words:

John 17:3 “…that they might know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.”

Jesus prayed to God all night:

Luke 6:12 “he continued all night in prayer to God.”

…because:

Matthew 20:28: Just as the son of man did not come to be served, but to serve.

How did Jesus pray to God?

Matthew 26:39 ‘…he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, ‘My Father…”

Even Paul said:

Hebrews 5:7 “During the days of Jesus’ life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions with loud cries and tears to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission.”

Who was Jesus praying to when he fell on his face with loud cries and petitions? Was it himself? Was Jesus crying in tears to himself pleading to be saved from death? No man, sane or insane, prays to himself! Surely the answer must be a resounding ‘No.’ Jesus was praying to “the only true God.” Jesus was the servant of the One Who sent him. Can there be a clearer proof that Jesus was not God?

The Quran confirms that Jesus called for the worship of the Only True God:

“Truly, God is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him (alone). This is the straight path.” (Quran 3:51

Blessings to you yasoooo! You have made me very happy by going into The Word of God to try to prove that Jesus was a man or a son of man. Now you have part of The Truth but you are still missing the most important part of who Jesus was, and is, and always will be. I believe The Gospel of John would add a great revealing, to you, should you care to know more. Some of the things He (Jesus) has said are,"I and my Father are One", "Before Abraham was, I AM." And even in chapter 1 it states," In the beginning was The Word, and The Word was with God,and The Word was God. He was in the beginning with God; all things were made through Him, and without Him was not anything made that was made." It also says, "And The Word became flesh and dwelt among us." So you see there is much more to Jesus, than what you currently understand. And His desire is to know you, and for you to know Him. For when you see Him, you will see The Father, and when you hear Him, you will hear The Father. So yasoooo, take the challenge and read The Gospel of John and see for yourself.

Many misunderstanding or misquote verses from religious books by selecting a statement from a verse, or selecting a whole verse and interpreting it by itself.

To understand a statement or a verse, one needs to read the verses before and the verses after and understand the historical context.

Otherwise the meaning will be out of context. For example, “if my cat is pretty ugly” but I omit the word ugly and tell you: “my cat is pretty …” the result becomes completely opposite of the actual fact.

The Quran and the Gospel sometimes contain very short verses that cannot be interpreted properly unless the verses before and after are also quoted to give us the big picture.

There is a general claim that Jesus (peace be upon him) is God. This inaccurate conclusion is reached by misquoting the Quran and the Christian Gospel where it mentions some of the attributes of Jesus and referencing it to the attributes of Allah.

The first name quoted is Al-Haq, meaning the Truth, which is mentioned in John 14:6 from the King James Version:

[Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me]

I advise the reader to refer to John 14:1-21 for a complete picture about the meaning of this verse.

As a prophet sent from God, Jesus (peace be upon him) is telling us if you need to know God, you must come to me and I will tell you the truth about God; he is the way, meaning the messenger of God who will teach you the truth about all aspects of leading a God pleasing life.

Note that in the entire Christian Gospel, there is no mention that Jesus (peace be upon him) said that he is God, the creator, or the Beneficent, one of the attributes of God that is exclusive to Him.

The well-known Muslim scholar, Salman al-Oadah explains:

There are two words which are used exclusively as names for Allah. No one else may be called by these names under any circumstances, regardless of the context or grammatical usage, and regardless of whether the words are being used as names or descriptions.

They are the name “Allah” itself and the name “al-Rahman” (the Beneficent).

Allah says: {Say: Call upon Allah or call upon the Beneficent, by whatever name you call upon Him, (it is well): for to Him belong the Most Beautiful Names.} (Surah Al-Isra’ 17: 110)

This is why no created being is ever called by these two names except that Allah has brought that person to disgrace … The rest of the words which are mentioned as names for Allah might possibly be used to describe others as well, in one way or another; for instance: “Seeing” and “Hearing”. Allah says: {Indeed we created the human being from a mixed drop of fluid to test him, so we have made him hearing, seeing.} (Surah Al-Insan 76: 2)

The same can be said for gentle, merciful, lofty, great, well-acquainted, and the other words which are used as names for Allah. However, there is a great difference in the connotation of these words when used to describe Allah and others – the difference between Creator and creation. The reality and attributes of the human being are in conformity with the nature of a created being.

So, when Jesus (peace be upon him) says that he is the truth that does not mean that he is God, our creator.

The second attribute of Allah that was again taken out of context is Al-Baith, the Resurrector. The Gospel verse that is referenced by this claim was John 11:25-26:

[Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?]

There is a big difference between the word “resurrection” and the word “resurrector”. Jesus (peace be upon him) is clearly explaining to us that the one who believes in his words which are from God, he shall never die; meaning his soul will live in bliss forever when he is resurrected by God, the Resurrector, the only One that can raise the dead from their graves and bring them back to life on the Day of Resurrection.

So, resurrection is the act of resurrecting while resurrector is the one who resurrects people. Obviously only God Himself is worthy of this attribute and none of His creation; not even the most loved prophets to Him.

According to the Free Online Dictionary:

Resurrection – The act of rising from the dead or returning to life.

Resurrector – Noun of the verb resurrect – To bring back to life; raise from the dead. This means the one who brings back to life.

While we know Jesus brought the dead back to life as a miracle, we also know that his was only by permission of Allah. All prophets came with miracle to prove to their people that they were true prophet of God. Allah says in the Quran:

{And [make him] a messenger to the Children of Israel, [who will say], ‘Indeed I have come to you with a sign from your Lord in that I design for you from clay [that which is] like the form of a bird, then I breathe into it and it becomes a bird by permission of Allah . And I cure the blind and the leper, and I give life to the dead – by permission of Allah. And I inform you of what you eat and what you store in your houses. Indeed in that is a sign for you, if you are believers.} (Quran 3:49) [emphasis added]

Jesus performed miracles that he only achieved as a proof to his people of his prophethood and only by the permission of God, not because he is God himself.

The third claim is that Jesus (peace be upon him) said about himself that he is the Alpha and the Omega as in Revelation 22:13:

[I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.]

We must go back to Revelation 22:6 to understand that God, the Creator, is the one who is talking not Jesus (peace be upon him):

[And he said unto me, These sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel to shew unto his servants the things which must shortly be done.]

Please read Revelation 22:6 – 13 in order to understand the entire context.

In Revelation 17:14, Jesus (peace be upon him) was compared to God as being the king, Al-Malik:

[These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful]

A king is someone who rules but does not own, and an owner is someone who owns but does not rule; but God owns and rules. Surely Jesus (peace be upon him) did not own not even his soul since God resurrected him and will bring him back one day.

And Jesus (peace be upon him) himself said in multiple occasions in the Gospel that he does not act from his own self, it is God who guides him.

The fifth claim is saying that Jesus (peace be upon him) said in John 10:9 ‘I am the door’ making it equivalent to Allah’s attribute Al-Hadi, the Guide.

Again, these words have two different meanings, ‘I am the door’ means no one can come in to the religion except through me since Jesus (peace be upon him) was given divine knowledge from God, while The Guide means that God is the only one that guides people to His religion if they themselves are ready to receive the truth.

Note that Muhammad (peace be upon him) is also addressed as Al-Hadi, a well deserved title for Jesus (peace be upon him) but not in the above mentioned context.

The sixth claim says that in John 8:12 Jesus (peace be upon him) said that he is the light:

[Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life]

Similarly Muhammad (peace be upon him) is also addressed as light in the Quran:

{O Prophet! Truly We have sent thee as a Witness, a Bearer of Glad Tidings, and Warner. And as one who invites to Allah’s (Grace) by His leave, and as a lamp spreading light.} (Al-Ahzab 33:45-46)

In short Jesus (peace be upon him) never claimed that he was God, the Creator nor the Beneficent; on the contrary, when Jesus (peace be upon him) was conversing with Mary Magdelene, he said that our God and his God are the same which proves that he was not God; John 20:17:

[Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.]

If Jesus is God would he say that he is his own God? He was surely talking about the Creator as his and our God.

Further this verse is telling us that the Father and God are one being and Jesus is a different being. If someone argues that he is the son of God therefore he is a God; that still separates him from God and therefore they cannot be one as the doctrine of trinity states since two nor three are equal one.

Furthermore, The Old Testament mentions in Exodus 4:22 that the prophet Israel is the son of God:

[And thou shalt say unto Pharaoh, Thus saith the LORD, Israel is my son, even my firstborn]

There are many other Gospel verses where other prophets are addressed as sons of God; meaning godly and not physically sons of God since begetting sons and daughters is an attribute of the human being for the continuation of the human race while God is One and only and is not in need of offsprings.

In addition, Jesus’ followers called him a prophet as mentioned in Matthew 21:11:

[And the multitude said, This is Jesus the prophet of Nazareth of Galilee.]

One must understand that a doctrine or creed of any religion must be based on solid verses from its religious book and not based on a couple of verses that were proven not to be part of the original scripture text.

" "I and the Father are One"
"I am the Way, the Truth and the Light"
Jesus said "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." Does that make him GOD?

Before we start: Please visit Jesus saying "I am the way and the truth and the life..." doesn't prove that he is the Creator of the Universe. Jesus promised and guaranteed Paradise to non-trinitarians.

Some people read:

"I am the way, ...no one comes to the Father, but through me."

When reading this verse, for some reason some people see in it a confirmation of the Trinity. Although I can not see how they can read either an explicit or even an implicit reference to the Trinity in this verse, still, due to it's popularity it deserves to be studied

There appear to be a sizable number of Christians who when reading this verse interpret it to state that Jesus is God and that no one shall enter into heaven except if they worship Jesus. However, since it is brought up so often in discussions of the Trinity it appears to be appropriate to discuss it here.

The popular perception that this verse claims that Jesus requires our worship in order for us to receive salvation is not the intended meaning of this verse. However, in order for us to recognize this fact it is necessary to study it's context.

If we were to back up a little and read from the beginning of this chapter, we would find that just before Jesus spoke these words, he said;

"In my Father's house are many mansions (dwelling places); if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a mansion (a dwelling place) for you."

John 14:2

The above statement is quite clear. It is in exact conformance to the teachings of the Qur'an. In the Qur'an we are told how God sent messengers to all tribes and nations. We are told that the basic message which was given to each of these tribes was the same: "Worship God alone and worship none else." Some of the secondary details of this worship might differ from one tribe or nation to the next according to God's infinite wisdom and his knowledge of those people. It was made very clear to each prophet that he was not to preach to anyone but his own people. It was further made clear to this messenger's people that if they were to obey him that they would receive the reward of God. God would not hold them accountable for what any other tribe or nation did or did not do. This would continue until God's last messenger, Muhammad (pbuh) would be sent to all mankind as the seal of the prophets.

This is exactly what Jesus is saying here. He said that in God's mansion there are "many" rooms. Jesus was sent to guide to only one of them. The countless other rooms were reserved for other tribes and nations if they would obey their messengers. However, Jesus was telling his followers that they need not worry themselves about the other rooms. Anyone from among his people who wished to enter into the room which was reserved for them could only do so if they followed Jesus and obeyed his command. So Jesus confirmed that he was going to prepare "a" mansion and not "all" the mansions in "my Father's house".

Further, the verse clearly states that Jesus was the "WAY" to a mansion. He did not say that he is the "DESTINATION" which would be the case if he were God. What else would we expect a prophet of God to say except "I am the 'way' to God's mercy"? That is his job. That is what a prophet does. It is why God chose him in the first place; in order to guide to the mercy of God. This is indeed confirmed in John 10:9 where Jesus tells us that he is "the door" to "the pasture." In other words, he is the "prophet" who guides his people to "heaven" (see also Jn. 12:44). Once again, this is the message of Islam.

Finally, remember

"Not every one that says to me(Jesus); 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven; but he who does the will of my Father, who is in heaven."

Matthew.7:21
