Soothsayers are psychics...who operate by the power of satan.
I have not found this to be true, btw....they are helpers...and give constructive advice...also, in deep, debilitating grief give
solace and hope....as in ...
when you think your son committed suicide...but no...your son comes thru...and says.
'look in the 3rd drawer.'..where it proves a drug dealer killed him.
Sure, there are bad psychics out there.
Being psychic isn't a bad thing...I have accidentally blurted things out...that scares people...
when they tell me a little something and I say, "Oh so you got a lavender rosary?" :)
Wrong, mistake....cuz they freak out! Think I'm reading their mind.
It's just 'something' we have or don't have and must be used wisely.

I urge you to look at what scripture says and pray about it....

Hi, I love ya....but... I know what scripture says from superstitious people...I know my own experience in the 21st c.
We will have to disagree from what has been read-- compared to personal exp.

Do you realize the folks that wrote that stuff didn't even know where the sun went at night?
My knowing that a lavender whatever is in a guy's right hand pocket is not the 'devil'.
If you think it is...place me on ignore NOW! ;)

I will leave it alone...i used psychics years ago when I was angry with God and the lady was super nice, I even asked her directly where her gift came from and she told me God gave it to her. That was good enough for me. So I went 5o her a few times....I didn't realize I opened a door into the spirit realm....i was later told it is a form of witchcraft...anyway within a year I was being tormented and attacked by demons....I would wake up and my bed would be soaked with blood. I went to my doctor and he couldn't find anything wrong....this I happened 3 times....I would see shadow people...see demons in the carpet, reflection in my mirror and when I finally had enough i went to a church for prayer and when the singing started I began to get very ill and had to leave.
That isn't the end of it but it is where I will end.
Not everyone has this kind of experience but it is truth that I speak that seeking psychic guidance on a matter can open a door for spiritual attack.

Oh, I don't seek advice from psychics... I rely on my Father 100%...
My mom did after my dad passed, tho...and she was hugely comforted.
The psychic said, "He's passed? Cuz I am feeling him as if he is down the hall having coffee!"
She said she had goose bumps...
but told my mom great things about some legal papers.
Demons do NOT scare me they are all 'wind...smoke and mirrors".

A prayer of repentance and or restoration will take you instantly out of that. You will feel it lift off of you.But when we walk in The Spirit, the darkness and the flesh have no power over us. For it is The Light that overcomes the darkness. As He has said, "I have overcome the world."
I like to remember the difference between asking for deliverance, and knowing you are delivered having asked. Makes for happier life, and fewer repeated prayers!

Much love!

These posts have helped me a lot. Last Friday, 6 days ago...my sister, 70, sweet person...but tormented from childhood stuff...
got upset and her voice dropped an octave, she almost 'growl' and her face changed.
My mother, I did not realize til a few months before she passed, was sometimes 'possessed' in this way...and with
a very Christian friend of hers with me, she turned in front of him...and he said "I've never seen anything like it.'
I simply said, "Welcome to the family." Ha! We used to call 'it' , "Mom's witch face."
There is a list of things on another thread..but left out is, "Forgetfulness of the 'attack or possession'."
Or minimizing the effect it has on others...then moving on...blaming others is big.
I did read that this bad spirit makes the person think these bad feelings from the spirit is 'themselves'....so my sister identifies
SO much with dread, worry, self-righteous angers, etc...as herself...part of herself.
@"ByGrace"
I think we do the same thing with the 'old man'. We forget that the feelings and desires of the flesh are not our own, Christ's own.

Anything that does not fit what the Bible says of the children of God is to be rejected. The standard is love, love from God for us, love from us for God, love for others.

Much love!

You are comparing apples to oranges.....the judge troubled by the widow was one elected to serve and uphold the law of justice.
Lydia was asking Paul if he judged her walk as pure....her conversion. This is more like spiritual discernment....which Paul had the gift to discern. Judge in this sense is not condemning but rather esteem...I looked up in the strongs concordance to make sure.
Paul was an Apostle and a teacher, a prophet and evangelist....but he never judged according to any Jewish laws or anything.....just stuck with the teachings of Jesus.
1 Corinthians 5:3 KJV
[3] For I verily, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have judged already, as though I were present, concerning him that hath so done this deed,

For understanding purposes, I will say that my walk(calling) is different than most. If I were to meet you on the street, as two strangers passing by, I would instantly be in The Spirit, for it is The Spirit that bares witness to The Spirit. My continence would change and a great Joy would overcome me by perceiving another member of The Body. I am one who absorbs or takes in from all people and not all are like you. a brother in Christ Jesus. All of this is used for His Glory. So my walk has to be close to Him with a constant restoring by prayer. The Spiritual gifts and callings are no different today than in the beginning of The Church. If I can help others in here in their struggles, then that I do, for that is what He leads me to do. We are all members one of another with The Head being Christ Jesus.

Hi GTW27,

Not entirely unalike, I assure you! Not so much in the particulars, but I know all about, "I have a certain fact to my life that means I have to stay very very close to Jesus."

I suppose we are all this way in some degree. But I know that I have to keep close, nip things in the bud, and joy reigns.

Much love!

[4] If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church. [5] I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren?

I know this a topic that most people avoid talking about but is it scriptural to be ignorant of your enemy?
Most everyone is familiar with Ephesians 6:10
Bible Gateway passage: Ephesians 6:10-20 - New International Version
So here we are taught 1. We have an enemy that comes against us daily...and 2. Our Father has given us spiritual armor to defend ourselves with.
So how do we recognize the enemy and when do we engage in spiritual warfare?

So at this point I will allow some responses and let's learn from each other.

I haven't had the time to read all replys but it looks as though we all have and understanding so I'll add with you.

I would suppose we all agree Satan is the enemy. He is the tempter of all wish to know and be with God. From the beginning he started with Adam and Eve. Eat that knowledge of good and evil. Only God was Good and the thoughts of men were all evil. People were all created from this world and its thoughts and considered beast thinking as men do.
Jesus said to Peter, you are thinking as men do Peter, behind me Satan.
He tempted Jesus with the same thing, believe the scriptures as they are written, Turn these rocks to stone, a jump of the mountain, worships me and I will give you everything you ever wanted. If you hunger for God it is the bread of understanding you must eat.
the path is stones and snares to cause you to fall and the living understanding will be as angels and let you not fall or dash your foot against the stones( people rejected to preach by the true temple ) and love the living God with all your heart( let your heart be filled with truth)

Satan is cursed above all the beast of the earth and those are people that think as man thinks and raise up the snake.
Satan is the creation being understood as men think and when they think as men think they wear the mark of the beast and worship the evil one.

The mark of the beast is deeper than that. The book of Solomon has insight into what it is.
Thanks for your input...I dont agree with all of it buts thats not an issue for me.
